Chapter 1 THE BETRAYAL

Jada Wilson's P.O.V

The morning sun is bright, and the sunlight is warm and not harsh. The birds keep chirping, and the breeze is cool. The leaves of the plants are covered from the dew drops. The level of noise pollution in the mornings is less compared to the other times of the day.

I drew deep in the morning air and let it out, ready to start the day. I had a blissful night and never wanted it to end but of course, it can't always be night.

“Jada sweetie help me to the door. There is someone there” My mom, Gracia said from the kitchen.

“Okay” I replied, I had just finished adjusting my bed and was now heading to the door.

The smell of morning breakfast filled my nostrils making me salivate.

“Huh.. I'm starving” I announced, rubbing my belly before turning the door knob, but there wasn't anyone on the other side.

“Is this a prank?” I asked rhetorically.

I peeped outside to see if I could get a glimpse of whoever played the prank, but no one was in view.

I was about heading in when something caught my attention, an envelope.

“What is this?” I asked no one in particular.

The envelope had a bold writing saying - A letter.

“Well no doubt it is” I said within and chuckled.

I cleaned the surface with my hands, wiping off the dirt and dust before walking into the house still puzzled.

“Who was that Jada?” Gracia asked, coming out of the kitchen.

“I don't know, I saw this letter lying on the floor.” I said, showing her the envelope.

“Let me see” she grabbed the envelope and scanned it.

“It's for you. Well I don't want to pry into your business. I'll let you sort this one out” Gracia said, handing me back the letter.

I opened the envelope and read its contents.

Westside avenue, now! - was all the letter said.

Still puzzled, I decided to keep the letter away and continue my morning chores as it was way more important than whatever that was.

The notes still filled my head as I continued with my chores. I still wasn't satisfied with it.

I grabbed the letter on my table beside the giant mirror, and opened it again, the content still remained, but this time around I turned the note over. What I found next horrified me, my eyes bewildered as I read the disturbing writing.

“What!?” I whispered, my hands were now shaking as I held the note, trying to comprehend it.

“It can't be. No. It cannot be…” my voice trailed. my eyes followed every writing, word for word, making sure I wasn't misreading.

“This must be a prank, yes. Someone is definitely pulling a prank on me and I'm not going to fall for it.” I said, tears already filling my eyes.

I tossed the letter to my bed, dashed out.

My heart raced as I ran. Thoughts filling my head.

“What if it's truly a prank? Serigo will never do that to me. He promised. Nicole can never betray me like this. Will she?”

The thoughts kept flooding my head as I sprinted to the place the letter directed. It wasn't too far from where I lived, like 4 blocks away, so it was easy to navigate.

I finally got to the place, but everywhere was quiet. The house In front of me was unfamiliar. I haven't seen it before, it looked abandoned. Like it'd been there for ages.

I had an eerily feeling as I stepped forward. My stomach dropped to the floor and goosebumps ran over me.

“I shouldn't be here. I have to be here”

I walked further and heard moans. However the voices were not familiar.

I walked into the first room, and found Nicole and Sergio being intimate.

The sight didn't only horrify me but it made me nauseous to see my best friend, the person I confide in, sleeping with my mate, Sergio. I pressed my hands over my mouth as the sight disgusted me.

“Jada” Nicole called immediately she spotted me standing by the door, Serigo stop immediately, gazing at me, shocked.

I quickly Left the building not wanting to listen to their silly excuses but stopped in my tracks. My head was light as I felt dizzy.

“It's not what you think Jada” Serigo said, coming out with full clothes.

“That's what I wanted to believe” I said

“But I had my doubts. I never wanted to believe that letter”

“She lured me. Believe me I would never do something to hurt you”

Still backing Serigo, I heard Nicole's footsteps approaching.

“You enjoyed it as much as I do”

As the word left her lips, I turned abruptly. Filled with anger, I marched up to her.

“You backstabbing, two faced witch” I gave her a tight slap. She let out a yelp and held onto the place I had slapped her.

“How could you do this to me? I trusted you. I made you my friend despite knowing your condition. This was the reward I got”

“And you…” I said pointing to Serigo who just stood aimlessly.

“You're too naive Jada. I regret nothing. For the record I was more of a girlfriend to him than you would ever be.” Nicole spat shamelessly.

“Shut up I don't want to hear another word from you” I half yelled. My head tingles and I felt more dizzy than before. My vision began to blur and I staggered to hold my stance.

“Are you okay Jada?” Serigo asked, coming to help me but I stopped him.

“Don't you lay those filthy hands on me” I said, holding up a finger. I tried walking away, but my dizziness got the best out of me.

“Do you want me to take you home? You don't look so we'll”Serigo said

But I ignored him, brushing his shoulder away.

“Please Jada, you'll get yourself hurt this way. let me help you” was all I heard before collapsing, Serigo rushing over to my side but I blacked out before he could come closer.
