Her mission was to kill them, and their goal was to destroy her. Isadora Walter, the warrior princess of Walter pack, has been on a mission since she was given a sword after her years of training ended: to eliminate the well-known savage lycan twins, who have become the nightmare of many packs in the werewolf universe, and deliver their heads to Walter pack. Only if she succeeds will she be the future Alpha of the Walter Pack. During her years of looking for the lycan twins and conquering certain packs, she built a name for herself, becoming twice as popular and feared as the lycan twins. An incident caused her to become the number one target of Alpha Logan and Landon, the merciless lycan twins. They won't stop till they have her head on a platter. What happens when these three eventually meet? Will these merciless Alphas still kill her after discovering she is the mate they have been looking for all these years? The mate who could reverse the curse on their head. Will Isadora kill them after realizing they are her mates after years of being mateless? What does the moon goddess have in store for them?
Isadora's POV:
"If you return with victory, then you would succeed me as the next Alpha King of the Walter Pack," my father announced, his gaze fixed on me. Murmurs filled the throne room. I was shocked, not expecting this at all.
"Silence!" he yelled, and everything became still. Even the sound of a needle drop could be heard.
"It's only right that the strongest shall become the next Alpha King, and Princess Isadora has proven herself to this pack every time, showing she would make a good Alpha King," he stated.
"Dad, this is absurd. She is only a woman. She has no right to the crown," Robert interfered.
"She might be a woman, but she has the strength of a man," my father countered.
"She has no wolf either. A wolfless woman can't be our Alpha. This has never been heard of," Robert stated angrily.
"Enough, Robert," my father yelled. "No werewolf in this pack has achieved what Princess Isadora has. If anyone wants to contend with me, then bring me the heads of those two abominable Lycan twins."
"Princess Isadora," he called to me.
"Yes, father," I replied.
"You know what victory means, don't you?" he questioned.
"Victory means delivering the heads of the Lycan twins on a platter to the pack," I replied, and a smirk crossed his face.
"Good girl," he said, patting me on the shoulder before turning to Robert, whose fists were clenched as he glared at me.
"We are in the middle of a war right now. There is time for everything, just as there is time for every discussion," he said to him before leaving the room with his men.
I was left alone with Robert, who was glaring at me. I turned to leave, but his words stopped me.
"You're nothing but a girl who was picked up on the streets by my father. You can never be part of our family. You're wasting your time if you think you can become the next Alpha King because of the title of a phony princess bestowed upon you by my father. You are just a phony princess, and you would never rise above that, no matter how much you struggle, because you don't have the blood of an Alpha running through your veins."
I was already used to this behavior from him, his mother, and his sister, Claire, who was the same age as me. The only people who treated me like family were Arnold, his twin brother, and Alpha King Lucas, my adoptive father, although it was more of a duty to my father and proving myself to him. No matter what, I was indebted to him because he took me in when I lost my family and pack.
"I am my father's first son and the only one who can be the Alpha King of this pack. I will not let a lowlife like you take that away from me," he stated with clenched teeth.
"Don't worry, I have no intentions to be the Alpha King. My only goal is to exact revenge on the Lycan twins, nothing else," I told him, and he burst out laughing.
"Should I be happy that you're doing me a favor by not being interested in the crown? Is that what you're implying?" He asked, his expression becoming more serious. Exchanging words would not end well and would only delay me, so it's better I ignored him.
"As father said earlier, there is time for everything. I don't have time for this. We are in the middle of a war right now, and I'm needed," I said, trying to leave, but he pulled me back. Before I knew what was happening, he landed a resounding slap on my cheek. I clutched my cheek, staring at him in disbelief, anger boiling inside me as I clenched my fists.
"You have grown wings already. Oh, I forgot that you're the legendary Princess Isadora," he said, mockery lacing his voice. "Listen to me very attentively. I don't care about who you are or what you have accomplished. When it comes to this pack, you're forever below me. Don't you ever try to walk out on me again," he warned.
"If you care so much about being the Alpha King, why don't you make yourself useful in the pack other than sitting all day acting like an entitled brat while contributing nothing? You piece of shit!" I yelled in anger, realizing I had overstepped. He was still the Alpha's son and my elder brother.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say that," I said. He raised his hands to hit me again, but withdrew them before pointing at me.
"After this war, I will see to it that you are banished from this pack, dead or miserable, for the rest of your life. I swear on my life," he stated, giving me a deadly glare I hadn't seen before. Something told me he wasn't joking.
Before I could respond, I was interrupted by a voice. "What's going on here?" I turned to see Arnold approaching.
Without a word, Robert walked out, and Arnold approached me with a curious look. "What happened?" he questioned.
"It's nothing unusual. He's just acting like the typical Robert," I responded. "I hope you're fine," he added, and I nodded.
"It's time to depart," I said, not wanting to waste more time, but he grabbed my hand.
"I urged Father to let me accompany you to the borders, but he refused, stating I should assist and protect the pack instead. You must return alive, no matter what happens," he told me, and I smiled. "When have I ever returned dead?" I asked sarcastically.
"I'm dead serious right now, Isai," he said.
"There's nothing to worry about, Arnold. I have always returned alive with victories from other fights. This particular one wouldn't be an exception. I trust my capabilities, and my father does too. That's why I'm leading the soldiers to the borders."
"This is not an ordinary war. You would be meeting the deadly Lycan twins. They are not the ordinary werewolf Alphas you have encountered before. They're lycans, something you haven't faced. You've heard about how they kill ruthlessly. You should be terrified, Isai. It's not too late to withdraw," he added, his eyes filled with worry.
"I've spent years preparing for this day. I will not back down like a coward; in fact, they should be afraid of me. I'm Isadora, and they've never met anyone like me." I said, and he sighed. "Please return alive. If the fight isn't fair, simply retreat. I'll be waiting for you."
I hugged him instantly, fighting back tears. I was relieved someone cared for me.
"I will try to return alive," I whispered before breaking the hug. "Don't say another word. This is not goodbye. I will not die. The moon goddess is on my side," I said, and he nodded.
I smiled at him before leaving the throne room. My father's beta was approaching me. "Is everything ready?" I questioned.
"Everything is set," he replied, and I nodded before following him out.
