Sold To The Faceless Mafia

The van jolted as it hit a series of deep potholes, jarring Mei Li back to reality. Earlier that morning, she had been engrossed in her household chores when her stepbrother abruptly seized her by the hair and flung her towards a group of menacing figures.

"Here is your good; deliver it to your boss the way he ordered."

She was still at a loss when those men dragged her to the van and chained both her legs and hands; apparently, she was being sold to some man who wanted her to be brought to him while chained.

Countless tears rolled down her cheeks as the van kept moving. She usually thinks the worst her brother could do to her is hit her, but to sell her?

Not even in her wildest dreams did she imagine this.

The van finally stopped moving, and the door was pulled open. "Come down," a muscular man with a scarred face scolded, and Mei Li looked down at her legs. She was chained, so how the fuck was she supposed to move?

"Didn't you hear me?" The man scolded her again, and she shivered in fear before the man dragged her hand and pushed her down the van as she fell down with her buttocks.

"Hop inside," he ordered, and her eyes widened in shock. She wondered if he was being serious or if it was just a joke.

The man took out a gun and pointed at her. "We were ordered to kill you if you don't follow orders, so don't make me."

He had a serious look, and she knew they were going to kill her if she didn't follow orders, so just like a frog... She started hopping her way into the mansion as the other guards and maids stared at her.

This was so embarrassing; her vision got blurred by tears until she finally arrived in the sitting room.

The guard walked forward and took off the chains on her legs and hands. "Stand up," he ordered, and she did just that. At that moment, some footsteps were heard from the stairs.

There was a tall man dressed in a black shirt and jeans; the first two buttons of his shirt were open, revealing his tattoo.

He had rough black hair and sharp eyes; those were all the features that could be seen as the rest of his face was hidden behind the black mask.

Luis Shing's gaze moved to Mei Li; her hair was scattered around her face, and she was a petite figure dressed in washed jeans and a t-shirt.

He waved his hand, signaling that his guards could leave, then sat on the couch and scanned the girl, who didn't even dare raise her head.

"What's your name?" his hoarse voice asked. Even though he already knew her name, he just wanted to hear it from her.

Mei Li didn't answer, not because she didn't want to. but because she felt so small in front of this man, she could feel the aura surrounding him being the same as the invisible ghosts she usually think are found in dark and scary places.

Luis frowned when she didn't answer him. From what he knew, she wasn't mute, so her actions were disrespectful.

He picked up his phone and sent a message before he stood up and walked away. Mei Li closed her eyes as her tears kept rolling down her cheeks.

Some guards approached her; they grabbed her hand, dragged her down the corridor, and finally arrived in a room. The heavy door was pulled open as they pushed her inside.

She snapped back to reality and hurried to the door, but it was locked. "Hey, let me out!" she screamed at the top of her voice.

"Open the door; it's dark here, please." She banged at the door till her fist became red.

"I am nyctophobic; please don't leave me here," she yelled in plea, but no one came to her rescue.

Mei Li hugged herself tightly and stood there, rooted. She shut her eyes tightly when she felt like some invisible people in the dark were approaching her.

"Get me out of here!" she screamed at the top of her voice. "Ahhh." Mei Li fell to the ground and buried her face between her thighs.

"Please, I promise to do anything. Just let me out."

Then she stretched her legs, and she touched something cold.

It wasn't just in her head; there was indeed someone in this room with her.

"Who...who is it?" She stuttered, but there was no response. Maybe it was just in her head.

So she closed her eyes tightly and started counting the minutes.

Minutes turned to hours, and hours turned to days.

She was locked for three days without seeing the light of day-no food, no water.

The door pushed open, and some men walked in and dragged her out before they could lock back the door. She saw a dead man inside.

She was locked up with a dead man for days.

"Hand her over to the maids," the head guard with the scar, white, said as they dragged her on the ground and pushed her into a room.

"Poor girl," a maid sighed before she filled a jar of water and helped her drink.

Only after drinking this water did Mei Li regain herself.

She wrapped her body in a ball and shivered.

"Please, please, please," she kept begging as tears rolled down her cheeks.

"You should stop pleading and focus on being a good girl so you can survive being Master Shing's slave," the maid advised her before she helped her stand.

"Come"

They both walked to the bathroom, and Mei Li sat on the stool as the maid brushed her body with the bathing brush.

She just sat there with a dead look, no energy, and no hope.

Since she was fifteen, her stepbrother had tortured her and made her life hell.

But he never locked her in a dark room with a dead person for three days with no food.

When the maid was done bathing her, she slipped into a simple blue gown and brushed her hair.

"I will get you something to eat." She walked out and closed the door behind her.

Mei Li's mind became active, and it was at this moment that she realized that the only solution here was to escape.

"I need to leave." She sobbed, hurried to the window, and pushed it open.

"Oh my..." she gasped when she discovered how tall the building was.

So she slowly opened the door and took a peek.

The corridor was quiet and empty, so she hurried down the corridor and spotted an elevator.

"How big is this house that they need an elevator?" She wondered before she walked in and pressed any button that her instincts told her to.

A few minutes later, the elevator opened, and she hurried down the corridor when she heard some voices approaching her.

"I need to hide."

There was just one door there, so she pushed it and got inside.

She locked the door and leaned on it. The room was dark, which she hated the most.

Suddenly, the room brightened up, and she sighed in relief.

"Wait, who switched it on?"

Her eyes opened, and they met with a sharp gaze.

He sat on his office desk while smoking, and there was a half-bottle of alcohol next to him.

Mei Li swallowed the lump in her throat.

She had escaped the dog's and ran into the lion den.
