"This is your son, Restu. I never betrayed you. I swear, you are the only man who has touched me." "Shut up, Sarah! That child is not mine; it's your mistress'!" Restu pointed at Sarah, and she glared at the woman in front of her. Sarah did not accept Restu's accusation, thinking that she was carrying the seed of another man. She never felt like cheating or betraying their marriage. Sarah was always faithful and tried to maintain the honor of her household. However, the doctor's verdict that her husband was infertile changed everything. Restu became skeptical of his own flesh and blood. If he was truly infertile and could not give Sarah a child, then whose child was Sarah actually carrying?

Chapter 1 Affair

"No, this is all a misunderstanding! I don't even know why I'm here," said a woman when she was caught by residents with a man who was none other than her neighbor.

Sarah stared at her husband, who was silent and standing at the door. The man looked very shocked, seeing the woman who was his wife with another man. He was Abian, their neighbor who was known to be a widower.

"You trust me, right, Restu? I couldn't have betrayed you," she said sadly, looking at her husband hopefully, hoping he would believe what she said and not what he saw in front of his eyes.

"Never mind, Restu, you should just divorce that unfaithful wife, Sarah!"

"Don't do it, Restu! Please don't do that. I'm..." Sarah pulled up the blanket, covering her innocent body. She was about to take a step towards her husband.

"Don't come near me, Sarah! I'm disgusted with you!"

"Restu...." Sarah shook her head slowly; she didn't want her husband to say that.

"What an ignorant daughter-in-law! I can't give my son any offspring; now I'm cheating on him! It's embarrassing," a middle-aged woman fumed, looking at Sarah, who looked very disheveled.

"Mom, I didn't do any of that at all. Why don't any of you believe what I say?" Sarah said in frustration.

"Never mind, Sarah; better put your clothes on. We'll talk at home."

Restu turned away, leaving his wife trying to continue explaining what happened, along with several other villagers who also left the place. Restu was devastated by this morning's events.

He saw with his own eyes his wife sleeping with another man. Restu did not expect Sarah to dare to come to Abian's house, which is only one house away from theirs.

This act made his pride as a husband seem to be trampled on by the woman who was once his wife.

"Why are you silent? Why don't you try to explain to all of them that what happened between the two of us is not true?" Sarah looked at Abian; the man appeared relaxed as if nothing had happened.

"Would they believe me if I said what you said earlier?" Abian shook his head. "I don't think any of them would believe what you said and what I said."

Sarah snorted at Abian's reaction. She did not remember what exactly had happened that led her to end up in Abian's room.

She only remembered that she was very sleepy after drinking all the beverages in the refrigerator that afternoon. After that, Sarah didn't remember anything else.

"Anyway, I don't want to know. You have to come with me to explain to my husband and family. I don't want them to think anything about us."

"What should I tell your husband?" asked Abian as he casually grabbed his shirt that was lying on the floor.

"Say anything, but you have to convince them that there is no relationship between us. You have to do what I say because I don't want my household to end up separated because of this incident."

Sarah replied, warning Abian. She wanted him to explain to her husband and family too.

"Alright, I'll come with you to meet your husband and explain everything," Abian said, as Sarah requested.

The man himself had no idea about what had happened that night. How could Sarah suddenly be in his room naked? Even Abian never thought of harassing his neighbor's wife.

For the past few months, she had been living alone. But as long as he lived in that place, Abian never brought a woman into his house-never mind bringing his neighbor's wife.

Sarah returned home with Abian in tow. She received a hateful look when she set foot in the house. Like a disgusting woman who doesn't deserve to be accepted in that house anymore, that was the gaze of her in-laws, who looked down on Sarah as if what happened earlier had truly proven that she was indeed playing crazy with Abian.

At Abian's house, Restu said, "I deliberately came here with Abian so that he could explain what happened to you. Maybe you think I'm lying, but I'm telling you everything in earnest: there isn't any relationship between me and Abian. Abian and I don't even know how the two of us suddenly ended up in Abian's room when I remember that I fell asleep in our room this afternoon after drinking the soda that was in the refrigerator," Sarah explained at length.

"You can't make this up, Sarah. Do you think we're all going to believe what you're saying? How could you suddenly move into Abian's room? Did a ghost move you into your mistress's room?" taunted Renita, Sarah's eldest sister-in-law.

"Renita, I'm telling the truth. The truth is that I don't know how I came to be in Abian's room; I don't remember what happened to me after drinking the drink in the fridge this afternoon."

"So you're wondering if someone is trying to set you up on purpose?" the mother-in-law guessed what her son-in-law was thinking right now.

"It could be like that, right? Maybe some people deliberately want to slander me and Abian by doing all these things, making it look like Abian and I are playing crazy behind your back, Restu."

"Okay, if that's what you think. Now I ask you, Sarah, who was the person who did all those things to you?"

"I don't just accuse people. I'm telling you what happened. There could be someone who doesn't like me and wants to destroy our home by deliberately setting me up with Abian."

"You watch too many soap operas, Sarah," Renita taunted.

Renita shook her head, laughing at her sister-in-law's absurd thoughts. The woman would do anything to defend herself. Even though she was caught red-handed, she could still evade responsibility by finding justifications.

I received a pornographic video. "Do you like this?" The man speaking in the video is my husband, Mark, whom I haven't seen for several months. He is naked, his shirt and pants scattered on the ground, thrusting forcefully on a woman whose face I can't see, her plump and round breasts bouncing vigorously. I can clearly hear the slapping sounds in the video, mixed with lustful moans and grunts. "Yes, yes, fuck me hard, baby," the woman screams ecstatically in response. "You naughty girl!" Mark stands up and flips her over, slapping her buttocks as he speaks. "Stick your ass up!" The woman giggles, turns around, sways her buttocks, and kneels on the bed. I feel like someone has poured a bucket of ice water on my head. It's bad enough that my husband is having an affair, but what's worse is that the other woman is my own sister, Bella. ************************************************************************************************************************ “I want to get a divorce, Mark,” I repeated myself in case he didn't hear me the first time—even though I knew he'd heard me clearly. He stared at me with a frown before answering coldly, "It's not up to you! I'm very busy, don't waste my time with such boring topics, or try to attract my attention!" The last thing I was going to do was argue or bicker with him. "I will have the lawyer send you the divorce agreement," was all I said, as calmly as I could muster. He didn't even say another word after that and just went through the door he'd been standing in front of, slamming it harshly behind him. My eyes lingered on the knob of the door a bit absentmindedly before I pulled the wedding ring off my finger and placed it on the table. I grabbed my suitcase, which I'd already had my things packed in and headed out of the house.
