Chapter 1 The Pursuit

"Get over here you silly little warlock" an eight foot tall wild bear growled as it pursued a weak looking teenager.

The weak teenager was dressed in loose ancient robes. He had shoulder length black hair and a magical wand in his hands. There was also a scarf tied on his forehead as a strange fashion style.

All the same, his general appearance fitted the description of a cute little warlock who was on a silly adventure.

His white apparel and black boots that was caught up within the vast grasses on which he ran, made him stand out.

The wild bear growled and vented its rage on the earth with each forceful jump. Fierce looking dents and cracks spread out on the earth beneath him due to his actions.

"I can't believe I got into this mess, what a silly thing to do" Adrian, the weak teenager mumbled as he ran.

His figure slammed against the surrounding tall bushes from time to time. A gasp left his mouth with each second as he became more exhausted along his flight.

"You can't run, you can't hide, what else can you do to vent you little human" the wild bear growled coming to a momentary pause.

It beheld a gasping Adrian who was still running, however in its eyes, the distance between them was too short that it was even fleeting.

"Once I trap you in my enchantment, you can forget about leaving here alive" the wild bear growled excitedly. It raised its paws into the sky, assuming a fierce stance.

The paws vibrated lightly, a strange force emanating from within. Before long, the paws became a bit glittery as an encompassing golden light enshrouded them.

BANG!!

The wild bear proceeded to slam his golden paws against the ground.

A turbulent shock wave spread out followed by a massive crack that trailed to the spot where the currently limping Adrian was dragging on.

The earth split open and Adrian fell inside the crack with a shrill wail leaving his mouth.

The bear roared in satisfaction, he sounded very pleased at how effortlessly he trapped Adrian.

"Creature of the Dark, you've been warned by the Council of Light to stay off the realm of humans but you never listen, do you?"

Right when the bear was about to pounce underground through the crack that swallowed Adrian, a figure in magnificent golden wizard robes appeared in the sky.

The wild bear halted in his steps as he seemed to recall the golden robed figure. However, he was unwilling to let Adrian go scot-free just like that.

Before now, Adrian had wandered his way to this bear's lair when it was not around. He stumbled across the cubs of this bear.

There was a particular cub that caught his eyes, it was cute but Adrian felt that the furs of the cub didn't match the color of its eyes.

He then tried to cast a spell to change the colour of the furs. However, midway through the spell, the wild bear walked in.

It growled fiercely at him, inciting a moment of panic that broke the spell he was casting on the cub. In a weird twist of things, the incomplete spell turned the cub into a rock figure.

Knowing that he had caused himself trouble, Adrian tried to run away for his safety but the wild bear gave a hot pursuit.

They had both been on a chase for several hours now before it finally managed to trap Adrian, just as it was about to render its judgement, a human Magic Lord popped out from nowhere.

The bear could only growl even with the feeling of dissatisfaction, it could only approach matters diplomatically and not with aggression.

"Lord Jasper, that human child crossed territories first, it's only right that I punish him" the bear expressed its thoughts.

Although it confidently raised its head to look at the golden robed figure in the sky, the feeling of fear and terror remained present in its eyes.

A Magic Lord was someone that was very rare to see. Unless necessary, they would not show up in random cases. This incident was random, it was difficult to understand why there'll be a Magic Lord present.

"You dare to reply, I see you've become tired of living in our realm, I'll be claiming your soul for the meantime" Jasper, the Magic Lord in golden robes spoke from the sky.

His voice echoed rapidly all over the place and even penetrated through the earth below to resound in Adrian's ears.

"I don't dare!!" The haughty wild bear shuddered. At this point, it had been properly humbled and it laid itself on its volition to show reverence.

It could feel the burning gaze of Jasper who was quietly standing in the sky. Just by hovering in the air, the amount of suppression he exuded, cast a shadow in the heart of the haughty wild bear.

"Get out of here and never return" Jasper commanded, a strong aura of power emitted from his being.

The wild bear fumbled its way back up. A couple of seconds later, it began a race for its life. It didn't even dare to turn back as soon as it began running.

Immediately the bear fled, Jasper flew to the ground. A whiff of smoke followed his swallow like descent. He proceeded to mutter a few magical chants under his breath, a brownish hue twirled on his index finger.

In a coordinated manner, his finger pointed down, the brownish hue shot out as a blade like light beam. The beam pierced and parted the earth around half a kilometre from his standing point.

Following the parting, there was also a magical digging force that riled a major portion of the earth's debris upward.

No one could tell what was in Jasper's mind by clearing the scene. But the impact of the digging force was too concentrated and strong.

Nearly every object that came in contact with the digging force got ripped apart.

On the other hand, Adrian who was trapped underground sensed some commotion but he had no idea what was coming for him
