I'm not your typical heroine and this isn't a rags to riches Cinderella story. I'm not nice, I'm not a pushover and I'm not heartbroken about my fiance leaving me at the altar to marry my step sister. All I have to do is find the first loser on the street and make him my substitute groom. Easy right? Unfortunately for me, my loser cab driver husband turns out to be a Korean billionaire tycoon and now I'm stuck in a marriage with an ice cold asshole. If Han-Jae thinks I'm now his property, well, he had better think again

Chapter 1 The wedding

Cassie Kane

"Where is Jack?" I heard someone whisper.

That was a really good question. Where the hell was my groom? I turned over to one of my bridesmaids. I couldn't remember her name, but I knew she had dated my cousin Aiden at some point.

"Hey, you," I snapped my fingers at the red head, "What time is it?"

Her eyes went wide, "Uh, I don't know. I didn't wear a wrist watch. It would have ruined the look of the dress and_"

I rolled my eyes. God help me. I was surrounded by idiots, "I didn't ask for your life history, sweetheart. All I wanted to know was the time."

Swallowing, she took a wary step back, lips trembling. I hoped she wouldn't suddenly burst into tears and ruin my goddamn wedding. If she did, I would destroy her.

"Does anybody in this church have a freaking wrist watch?" I snapped.

"It's 12:45 ma'am," the priest said.

I glanced over at where Jack's groomsmen were lounging around, looking less than bothered by the fact that my groom was almost an hour late. I was beginning to sweat like a pig inside my multilayered tulle dress. My mother had warned me that it wasn't a wise idea wearing such a heavy dress in the height of summer, but I had disagreed with her at the time.

First of all, I didn't plan to wear it the whole day. I already had a silver reception dress that cost almost thirty thousand dollars waiting for me.

Second, whatever Cassie Kane wanted she got.

So what that my daddy had cut me off and blocked my credit cards? Jack would soon take over as CEO of his company, and I would be back to the life I was accustomed to.

"Where's Jack?" I snapped at the men.

His elder brother Oliver rolled his eyes, "I don't know, Cassie. Isn't he your fiance? Aren't you supposed to have a leash around his neck or something?"

The rest of the men laughed at Oliver's very dry retort. Yeah, I was aware they didn't like me. In fact, a lot of people didn't like me. Ask me if I cared? I didn't.

I didn't need them to like me. Only idiots needed to be liked. I was more beautiful, sexier, smarter, more successful than everybody in this room. They could gossip about me all they wanted, but after I sealed my alliance to the Du Pont family today, they would all be begging for a glimpse of me.

Even my dear daddy would come running back.

I smirked at Oliver, "If you were as good as cracking jokes as you were at running the company, maybe your grandfather wouldn't be trying to hand it over to your baby brother now. Don't you think?"

He snarled, and advanced at me, "You fucking bitch!"

Just before he could get to me, the church's double doors flew open and my groom walked in. I began to smile, but it was quickly wiped off when I saw that he had someone's hand clasped in his.

"Tiffany?" I gaped at my step sister who looked extremely smug, "What the hell is going on here?"

By now, the entire congregation had turned to where the two stood at the door. Humiliation began to burn through me, turning my face a blotchy red that not even my thousand dollar foundation could cover.

"A few minutes ago, Tiff and I got married at the federal high court," Jack said bravely, "I'm sorry, Cassie, but I can't marry you."

"W-why?" My voice came out shaky.

"I mean- you- I_"

My home wrecker of a step sister stepped forward, "No need to be kind to her, dear husband. We all know that Cassie is a rude, mean, manipulative bitch. And just in case you all didn't know, daddy cut her off four months ago."

A collective gasp went up around the church and I could feel hundreds of eyes on me. And to my embarrassment, I could also feel the burn of tears stinging my eyes.

"Shut up, Tiff," I hissed, "You're just mean and bitter and jealous cause you're not as pretty as me."

She threw her head back and let out a high pitched bark of laughter, "Jealous of what exactly? You may think you're so pretty and perfect, but on the inside, you're rotten. You're a talentless slut, and everybody can tell. Get off your high horse, sister. You're finished."

"No, I'm not!" I insisted, fingers curling into fists at my sides.

By now, camera flashes had begun to go off around the church and the corset of my dress felt impossibly tight. I couldn't breathe, and I just wanted the ground to open and swallow me up.

"How are you going to pay for that dress, those shoes, and those expensive jewelry you bought on loan because you thought you were marrying into the great Du Pont family?" She raised one mocking brow at me.

Laughter began to spread around the church, and I could hear people whispering about me. In the blink of an eye, my entire plot to be the reigning queen of Manhattan high society crumbled.

"Go to hell!" I screamed, rushing down the altar and down the hall, ignoring the laughter following behind me.

They could all go to hell.

If they thought they had managed to tear me down, they were wrong. I was Cassie Kane, the true daughter of business mogul Andrew Kane. Nobody in the world could tear me down.

Not even my stupid step sister and my pathetic ex fiance.

I broke through the church doors, fury making my blood boil in my veins. I looked left, then right, mind racing with an escape plan.

Just as I made to cross the street, I spotted something. More specifically, a man. I registered dark hair and a trim body, and a crazy plan began to form in my head. My mother had always said that my impulsiveness would be the death of me.

Well, turned out that she was right.

"Hey, you! Cab driver!" I snapped my fingers at the man.

He startled and turned around from where he was leaning against a yellow vehicle, "Me?"

"Do you see anyone else around?" I rolled my eyes, "Come with me. I'll give you ten thousand dollars to marry me right now
