Toxic and Caffeine

I lay down on my bed watching the ceiling. I just turned eighteen a week ago and I'm about to go to college tomorrow.

I'll be Going to the same college with my stepbrother and his friends,gosh I can't wait for them to graduate good thing they're going to graduate before me.

How will my life turn out, I've got everything planned, finish university without losing my virginity, getting a job,get a car and a Siberian husky damn that'll be nice,then make more money before I can think about marriage which I'm not sure is going to go well.

With the kind of boys in my life I don't think I will ever have any guy approach me in school which is a good thing cause I have to focus on my studies.

The cool air hit my skin causing me to shiver a bit. I hate the idea of going to the same school with Dewey.

Only his face makes me lose my mind. I just have to pretend in front of my mom and Ron that we're getting along but Dewey isn't even planning on getting along with my mom and his dad and I go so well.

I hate when my mom is trying to please that big spoilt brat. Jerk.

But she loves him like her own son.

Ron will see his son doing some crazy things but he won't say anything. I love Ron cause my mom loves him and she's happy with him but Dewey is the worse.

I really need to leave for school I'm losing my mind slowly.

Wait we're going to the same school. shit!

Dewey will be there,the twins will be there and...who cares about the last person,I don't give a shit nor two about him.

"Ashley!

My mom's voice hit my ears making me fly out of bed...wait what is wrong with me?

"I'm coming! " I scream as I rush downstairs.

I pause as I look at Dewey's bedroom door. I can hear the twins laughing like their life depends on whatever they're laughing about.

The four of them in there must be having a good time or whatever I don't care.

I push the curtain blocking the door to the living room to the side and look at my mom sitting beside her husband on the leather chair close to the wall in front of me.

When you walk into the living room from the front door, you'll first see a long leather sofa then two smaller ones forward, another long leather sofa by the right that's where my mom and stepdad are sitting Right now and to your left is a massive television.

I jumped into the living room gaining their attention.

"Hey mom,hi Ron.

"Hi sweetie. " Ron smiled looking away from my mom's huge belly.

"Your Daddy wants to talk to you. " Mom said stretching her phone forward.

Is that why she screamed?

"Okay. " I walked forward and collected the phone and placed it against my left ear. " Hey Daddy.

"Hey baby, I've been calling you where your phone at? " Daddy's voice hit my ear.

"I was charging it somewhere...

I look around but my phone ain't where I left it. Dewey.

"Never mind Daddy.

"I won't be able to come see you in school tomorrow but I promise to come visit you before Friday,I just moved into town and the gym has been really busy and I don't wanna come to your school looking all exhausted,you know what I mean?

"Yeah.

"We'll be leaving in the same town kiddo.

"I'm happy really.

"Okay gotta go.

"Yeah me too, I've got someone to take care of. " I look at the curtain behind me.

"Try not to kill your brother. " Daddy chuckled before the call disconnect.

"Here's your phone mom. " I hand my mom the phone and was on my way to Dewey's room.

"Hey Ashley please call Dewey for me. " Ron say.

"Okay. " I replied and I went to Dewey's bedroom door and knocked.

"Who is it? " Dewey's Voice call out.

"Me.

"Who's me? " Dewey ask.

"Dewey you punk. " I look towards the living room,hope my mom didn't hear me, Ron won't say anything tho. "Ashley.

"Ashley who?! " Dewey scream.

"Major,Dewey what the hell !

"Ashley! " Mom scream from the living room.

"Sorry!

"Apologies accepted you can come in darling.

I frown as I open the door and enter the room.

I look at the twins Austin and Oscar sitting on the yellow couch. They don't look alike and why did Oscar dye his hair blue? These models are always trying to flirt with me but it never work. Look at them pushing their perfect blonde and blue hair to the side and blinking slowly.

I scoff and look away but my gaze landed on someone sitting on the window. His gray eyes staring directly into my soul screaming ' Ashley what did I do wrong '. His gray eyes makes me weak in the knees, I hate this stupid involuntary action my body always take when he's around and the morning sun is making it worse.

I'm deep inside those gray ocean,I didn't even use a submarine and I don't have a snorkel,I don't know if I'll drown cause my heart keeps skipping.

This hot English Brunette boy is nothing but perfect.

I hate you so much.

The involuntary action stopped and I regained myself and looked at Dewey sitting on the spinning chair close to his bed with an evil smirk on his face holding my phone like it's he's.

"Dad- I mean Ron needs you. " I said as I walk up to Dewey.

I've been here for years now so sometimes Dad enters my mouth instead of Ron. I've only called Ron ' Dad' once and that was on his birthday last year. Ron was blushing like I was proposing and at the end of the day his son told me Ron is his dad not mine,so I continued to call Ron by his name.

Ron is my dad too,he put a ring on my finger.

"Good thing you corrected yourself, what's your phone password I wanna read your chats. "Dewey smirked.

"It's brace yourself. " I said and spin his chair hard. He immediately let go of my phone to hold on to his chair firmly but he still fell... with the chair.

The Brunette chuckle softly from the window.

I immediately picked up my phone as Dewey was standing up.

"Dewey! " Ron scream from the living room.

"Out of my way bitch. " Dewey push me from his way and I followed him from behind.

"Dumbass.

"Come closer and I'll slam your head against the door, druggie. " Dewey open the door without looking back at me.

"Nah ah, your fat ass ain't gat no liver.

Dewey slam the door hard making my mom scream from the living room.

"Sorry Joe. " Dewey apologize.

I was about to grab the door handle before I hear Oscar speak.

"Yo Ash, we're going to a party tonight,wanna come? " Oscar ask looking at me and immediately the figure on the the window focus on me as usual.

"Yeah Ash you should come with us,then we can hang out, drink and you know. " Austin wiggle his eyebrows.

What is it with these guys, their bad character increased when they went to the university.

Dewey became more terrible,the twins just want to sleep with me and Tyson...oh my gosh,Tyson came back with a tattoo on his whole right arm.

I like parties, it's filled with teenagers forgetting the road to their houses and puking everywhere. ( Get the sarcasm).

"I don't know, I'm not going.

"Oh come on,since you moved here you've only gone to one party. " Oscar say standing up.

"Yeah and because it was thrown in this house,I had to clean up all by myself.

"I helped. " Tyson say looking at his phone.

How much I hate your voice.

"Ashley snap out and look at us, Tyson's got a lot of girls you can end up with me or Oscar. " Austin Smirk.

"I DON'T DATE MY BROTHER'S FRIENDS.

I look at Tyson immediately, our eyes meet,how did we manage to say the same thing at once?

Ashley you've told him before girl focus.

"Uh you two need a room. " Oscar's stupid giggle snap me back to reality.

"I'm out of here. " I close the door gently and I heard Oscar's voice.

"Yo Tyson,how was the girl from last night?

I flatten the left side of my face on the door and yes I am eavesdropping. I don't usually do this and I don't know why I am doing it now. I'm loosing my mind.

"I don't like her. " I could barely hear what Tyson just said.

"You don't like any girl. " Oscar say.

I hear a sigh and then Tyson spoke.

"There's only one girl and she will be the only girl.

Ashley pull yourself together and stop blushing.

"Who? " Austin ask.

Tyson chuckled. " She's a mystery.

Immediately I hear footsteps coming from the living room,I flee to my bedroom.

After sometime,I went downstairs to the living room. On getting there my mom just pulled me back upstairs to the room she share with her CEO husband Ron.

"I need you to pick a dress for me. " My mom say checking the wardrobe.

My mom is a fashionable person and I am a fashion disaster.

Just then we heard a knock on the door.

"Joe! It's me Dewey. " Dewey say from the other side of the door.

"Mom can I get a lip balm?

"Wait,Come in Dewey. " Mom scream.

Dewey enter the room giving me a death glare, seriously this afternoon cannot be better than this.

I sat comfortably on my mom and stepdad's family bed glaring at Dewey too.

Dewey pick up one of Ron's car keys and was about to leave before my mom calls him back.

"Look at your lips Dewey, it's so dry. " Mom said and she gave the lip balm she was supposed to give me to Dewey.

She does that every time.

Am I not your child too?

Dewey just nod and left the room and mom continued with her wardrobe.

"Seriously,I don't know why you always do that.

"Ashley not this again. "My mom sigh.

"Why do you always try to please Dewey, he's so ungrateful.

"Ashley, he's just being a kid and he'll come around.

He's nineteen.

"It's been six years now when will he come around? When I've lost my mind!

"Stop doing that!

"Doing what?!

"Squeezing your Dad's suit,he ironed it all night to the way he like it,now you've ruined it.

I look at the suit I'm squeezing hard.

" Sorry I didn't see it there. " I straighten out the suit,good thing it's not ruined.

"Yes it has been six years and guess who did not wish me Happy Anniversary? " Mom give me a weird look.

" Happy Anniversary.

"Same to you. " She replied and continue tossing clothes everywhere. " You know Dewey wished me a happy anniversary today so did his friends, you've been in your room all morning.

"There was nothing to do.

"Do you like this one? " My mom toss a white floral off shoulder gown on the bed.

"Hmm,this dress kinda remind me of the one I wore on my birthday.

"Yeah about that, we're so sorry especially Ron. " Mom gave me an apologetic look.

" It's okay, it's not everyday they paint your room unknowingly to you on your birthday.

"Didn't you perceive the smell of the paint when You came in that night? "Mom ask.

"I smelled something funny,I didn't know it was paint so I rested on the wall only to get my white dress glued to it,good thing it ain't red cause you guys just happened to switch on the light and scream surprise.

We all went out on my birthday,that day was the day Ron thought it'll be a good idea to paint my room yellow, don't get me wrong I'm grateful but he should have done that like three days before.

I entered my dark room with serious chest pain,I was going to change but this pain hit me hard I just leaned on the well,then my family walked in and my mom turned on the light that was when I found out I was leaning on a sticky wall.

My white gown was with yellow paint and let's not talk about my hair.

"What was wrong with you,why were you resting on the wall like you just ran a marathon with the lights off?

" I was having chest pain.

"How come,what happened? " Mom ask.

Tyson was looking at another girl.

"The outing was just really stressful.

"Okay so I'm wearing this dress. " Mom clap her hands like a little kid.

So this is what her pregnancy does to her, clapping and ignoring me.

Mom got Dressed and we went downstairs,after the many compliments from Ron they finally wanna leave.

"Dewey wash the black Rolls-Royce before I get back. " Ron say knotting his tie.

"Okay,Joe do you know my mom has a dress just like this one? " Dewey's question made my mom freeze.

"Dewey what kind of question is that? " Ron gave Dewey an unexplainable facial expression, it's like he's mad and disgusted at the same time.

"I-i never knew. "Mom stutter before looking at something in front of me.

I follow her gaze to my hand where I'm squeezing the long leather sofa In front of the front door harshly, squeezing Oscar's blue hair along with it.

I didn't even notice Oscar's hair was under the pressure of my hand so I let go.

"Girl you almost pulled my hair from my scalp. " Oscar frown.

"Sorry. " I look at the Chandelier hanging just above Dewey's head,if it falls now Dewey will be badly hurt.. wait my mama and Ron is standing under it. Damnit.

My mom gesture for me to take deep breaths when Ron,Dewey and Oscar were not looking so I did.

Well I am my father's daughter,we went to anger management class together and my anger issues have subsided over the pass few years...i think and daddy's? I have no idea.

After taking deep breaths, Dewey walked up to the chair I was standing behind and sat there, immediately he did that Austin and Tyson walked in from the corridor and my body weaken, immediately I regained myself I made no eye contact with anyone. I suck at it by the way.

"I'm gonna go wash something, probably break something. " I mumbled as I took my leave to the kitchen.

"No kiss for big brother?

My neck snap to my left hand side,I turned around to see Dewey smiling devilishly,I look at my mom and Ron who are smiling in expectation.

I can feel my insides boil.

I've been pretending in front of my mom and stepdad for six years that Dewey and I have a brother sister relationship,Ron will be crushed and so will my mom and I can't do that she's pregnant. There is no sibling love. My mom knows I don't like it when she pleases Dewey but she doesn't know we hate each other.

I went to Dewey, pecked his stupid right cheek and went to the kitchen.

The moron later came in while I was washing the mugs of who ever drank wine this morning and dumped another mug there like I was his personal maid,he can't even do that to the house maid, although the maid is on maternity leave.

He turn to leave and I picked up the mug and lunched it towards Dewey's back head but it slipped from my hand because of the soap and it dropped on the sink,Dewey turned around immediately at the sound of the loud noise.

"Stop looking at me like I owe you something. " Dewey scoffed and walked out of the kitchen.

You don't know you own me something. I rinse my hand ignoring the soap and water on the floor when I aggressively washed and rinsed the mugs. I walked out of the kitchen almost slipping two times but nothing is going to stop me from not hurting this boy even if his friends are home.
