Chapter 1 Are You Even Ready To Be Forgiven

"Are you blind!" Corey Dickens yelle at the lady in front of him. She quickly bowed and apologised to him.

"Sir, I'm sorry for ruining your shirt." She said, trying to wipe off the stain but Corey pushed her away and she landed on the floor.

Cassandra was a very hot tempered lady and she gets easily annoyed. She stood up with a smirk and poured the remaining wine in the glass on Corey Dicken's head.

"That is what you get for being unforgiving." She told him and before Corey could process what happened, she walked out of the restaurant. She knew she had lost her job already and there was no point waiting for her boss to fire her.

"Why are you home so early? Did something happen?" Natalie who was Cassandra's childhood friend, asked her as she walked into their apartment.

Cassandra nodded her head as she pulled off her high heel. "Yes, I dealt with a stupid man today. I fired myself already, I'll look for another job."

"Cas, are you nuts?" Natalie yelled at her.

"No, why?" Cassandra asked nonchalantly.

"This is the fifth job you've lost in a month. Why do you find it so hard to control your temper?"

Cassandra shrugged indifferently. "It's not my fault that I don't chose to be treated badly by people. I have to take a short nap, see you tomorrow." She yawned and went to her room.

Natalie scoffed as she saw her walk away. She wondered when her friend would stop acting this way.

The next morning, Natalie came to wake her friend from sleep.

"What now? Didn't I just sleep some minutes ago?" Cassandra pouted.

"Some minutes indeed, you've been asleep since last night. Sit up and check this out."

Cassandra slowly sat up with a frown on, she wasn't a morning person at all and she always wished the night could endure forever. "What's that?" She asked, trying to rub the sleep off her eyes.

"It's a job advert. Mr Dickens needs someone to work as his personal assistant." Natalie told her.

"Who's Mr Dickens?"

"He's the CEO of Dynamic Incorporation. I've applied for the job already and you have to go for the interview tomorrow." Natalie told her.

"Uh, tomorrow?" Cassandra widened her brows.

"Yes tomorrow, lazy ass. One more thing, Cas. Mr Dickens is a very strict man so you have to maintain your temper when you're with him if you really want to work with him."

"Hmm, I can't guarantee that." Cassandra stood up and walked to the bathroom.

"No Cassandra, you have to. Stop being this way." Natalie tried to convince her but Cassandra wasn't ready to listen.

****

Cassandra sighed as she alighted from the cab that dropped her in front of Dynamic Incorporation. The building was a very tall one and with the mesmerising exterior designs, Cassandra could bet that the inner part would look like paradise.

The receptionist directed her to the CEO's office and she took an elevator which stopped on the 6th floor.

She knocked on the door and a husky voice ordered her to come in. As Cassandra's eyes met Corey Dicken's, she gasped.

God! Gosh, gosh! Fuck!

This was the same man she encountered at her former workplace. Her mouth was left wide-opened as she couldn't speak.

A sinister smile played on Corey's lips as he also recognised her too. He never knew they would meet again after she embarrassed her at the bar.

"Has cat got your tongue, young woman?" He asked, turning around in his swivel chair.

"Umm, umm. Do you recognise me, sir?" Cassandra asked, her voice trembling a bit.

Corey chuckled and faced her. "Is that a question? Of course I recognise the woman who ruined my suit and poured wine on my head."

Cassandra jolted the more. He indeed could recognise her. She wondered what she was going to do now. She began contemplating in her head, should she runaway or apologize to him?

She shook her head as she couldn't agree to her own thoughts, he was the one who pushed her first. He was the one to apologise not her.

She raised her chin, looking straight into his brown eyes. "It's a relief to know that you've easily recognised me. Do you think I'm going to apologise, oh no I'm not. But I could reconsider if you apologise to me first."

Corey let out a loud scoff. What was she saying right now? She must be a big idiot for thinking that he would apologise to her. Does she even know whom he was? Hey, he's a man who has trillions of dollars in his account the could wipe out her whole generation with just a snap of his fingers!

"What do you say, Mr Dickens? Has cat got your tongue too? Tsk tsk, do you think I'm going to scold you? Of course not." Cassandra said when she saw he was quiet.

Corey Dickens stood up and as he moved closer to Cassandra, she shifted backwards and as she was about to fall when she miscalculated her steps, she grabbed her waist and pulled her closer to himself.

For a moment, they stared into eachother's eyeballs. Corey was taken aback by her pretty face. Apart from being sharp mouthed, she is strikingly beautiful and any man would love to have her. With her blue eyes, small nose, plump pink lips and long eyelashes; she looked so much like an angel.

Cassandra cleared her throat and that was when Corey jplted back to reality. She wriggled out of his grip and stood straight, adjusting her skirt.

"I thought I asked you a question." She said, folding her arms. Corey chuckled again, he was so impressed by the lady's boldness and he could say he had never seen anyone with a courage like hers.

As a disciplined man whom he is, noone dares speak to him this way but this lady in front of him seemed not to very mannerless.

"You're the one to say sorry for your clumsiness and unmannerly behaviour. Do you really want to work with me, young lady?" Corey asked her, raising a brow.

Cassandra moved closer to him until there was only an inch between them. She looked into his eyes once again and she was the least intimidated by his huge figure.

"How dare you call me clumsy and unmannered? Are you even ready to forgiven?"

"You're nothing to me, woman and I think you should be more respectful if you want this job. If you continue to act uncouth like this, I'm afraid I'll have to fire you before I hire you."
