"You look really pathetic!" Jasmine snickered, as she walked into the dark basement, the sound of her heels hitting the floor echoed through the empty basement as she walked towards the farthest corner, where a woman was lying limply.
"I must commend your tenacity" Jasmine mocked. "Even after all the long, painful and lonesome days you've experienced, you've chosen to remain composed and alive, how annoying?" She sneered and kicked the blonde woman with her long sharp heel.
The blonde woman whimpered in pain from the several wounds and boils on her body. She looked up, her eyes firm with determination and she spat at Jasmine. Jasmine's face contoured in anger as she kicked her several more times.
"You still have face to be arrogant?! You are a loser! Don't you know the situation you are in right now? I have gotten everything and you have nothing! Absolutely nothing! Even your perfect reputation has been tarnished by me!" she laughed mockingly, as she shoved her phone in the blonde woman's face.
"Why don't you read the news going around about the most celebrated movie Queen? The aloof and unbothered Empress Jadeth Hilton has fallen from her great throne into the mud!" She laughed.
Jadeth, the blonde woman scanned through the news on the front page of the phone and closed her eyes before resting her head on the wall, willing the tears that threatened to fall, away.
"What now? Are you regretting going against me and gaining all the attention for yourself?" Jasmine mocked but got no answer which further angered her as she pulled Jadeth's hair.
"Even now you are trying to prove strong? Can't you see you've lost everything?" She sneered angrily, having not gotten the reaction she was hoping to get.
"Our parents have disowned you and all the family properties now belong to me! Can you see this?" She smirked as she flashed the diamond ring on her fingers in Jadeth's face.
"Your beloved Thomas proposed to me and the engagement party will be held tomorrow and it will be announced to the public" Jasmine giggled happily as she recounted all her achievements.
"Do you think your reputation as the movie Queen can save you? Pftt... hahaha! Don't even think about it! You are nothing but a scum to your fans now! Can you now see? You've lost everything!"
Jadeth opened her eyes to finally acknowledge the nuisance before her, her eyes flashed a cold glint. "Are you happy about your achievements now?" Jadeth demanded, her voice scratchy from dehydration.
"Now that you've ruined my life to make yours, are you satisfied? Because it will be a pain if you've gone through all those pains just for you to end up unsatisfied" she added smugly.
Jasmine froze up in shock at her calmness and the coldness behind her words, but she soon regained her composure, as she folded her arms over her chest and huffed. "Hmph! Of course, I'm satisfied, why wouldn't I be satisfied to finally see you in such a weak and pathetic state? Your fall brings me nothing but great joy!" She announced proudly and Jadeth laughed heartily.
"What is funny?" Jasmine asked awkwardly.
"Then I have repaid my debt to you in this life. I have apologized to you by giving you everything I've worked hard for," she continued as she began to cough out blood.
"I take the blame, even though it's not my fault that we are born so differently. I take the blame and I have repaid all my debt to you. I wish you nothing but happiness, sister, I hope you remain happy all your life. However," Jadeth breathed out weakly as her eyes began to turn blurry.
"If there is a next life, I will pay you back in hundredfold. I will make sure you live a life worse than hell...you know why? Because I treated you so sincerely in this life and I am not indebted to you!"
"Even if you aren't born my sister in the next life, I will find ways to make your life more miserable than what I am now, mark my words!"
Frightened by her words and the sinister look on her face, Jasmine lost her balance as goosebumps appeared on her skin. She stumbled and quickly ran out of the basement in fear. Jadeth's cough increased by the second, she smiled weakly as she lay limply on the ground.
"This is over! I want an opportunity to redo it! I will pay back the good and multiply the evil!" As she began to lose consciousness, the door was slammed open once again and a man dressed in a black suit ran in, his face panicked as his eyes scanned the whole basement, spotting the lady in the corner, he rushed toward her and held her in his hands.
"Stay with me Jadeth, please stay with me!" He begged as he lifted her and began walking out.
"De... Dexter is tha... that you?" Jade asked, her voice barely above a whisper, but he could hear her.
"Don't talk! Preserve your energy and stay awake! The ambulance is waiting outside!" He urged hurriedly. Jadeth sighed as she noticed his hands trembling as they held her.
"It's to... too...lateeee" She announced, the tears she had been holding finally falling. She sobbed into his chest. "I'm sorry Dexter, I'm really sorry, I never took you seriously and always took your care for granted" she apologized between sobs.
"I'm re.... really sorry, I ne... never saw the good in you and always trusted others ov... over you, please forgive me!"
"I already did. It wasn't your fault!"
"Promise me..."
"I promise" Dexter replied without waiting for her to finish what she was saying. Seeing him so panicked, Jadeth felt guilt and remorse ripping her heart out. She chuckled darkly, "Pr.... Promise me, Dexter"
"I told you I already promise, whatever it is you want, I will give you! Just stay with me, okay, please stay with me!"
"Okay, I will. But you have to listen to my promise!"
"I promise if there is a next life, I will love and cherish you! I will create a beautiful life with you and I won't get deceived by others!"
"And I promise to wait for you!" Dexter replied.
Having heard his promise, Jadeth held his face and kissed his lips, after which she whispered her last words. "I'm sorry"

"Young Miss! Miss Jadeth! You have to wake up now or you be late for school!" Jadeth jolted awake as she felt someone yelling beside her.
"What is going on?" She muttered in confusion as she looked around to see the familiar yet distant scene. "You are finally awake! You have to get up before madam comes for you! You know how she gets when you wake up late like this!" The maid voiced as she ran around the room to tidy the place up.
"Tina?" Jadeth called out in confusion and the maid rushed back to her side.
"Is there anything you need?" She asked politely.
"Didn't you already go back to the small town?" Jadeth asked. "Why are you still here?"
"What is the Miss talking about? I didn't go anywhere! As long as you are in the Hilton family, I will always serve you ah! Quickly get up. You have less than 20 minutes before the madam comes around to look for you" The lady panicked and continued to clean up the disorganized room.
"I will pick up your clothes!"
As Jadeth stood by the mirror in the bathroom, her eyes went wide in shock, seeing how her younger self was staring back at her. "Did I go back in time? What is happening?" She asked in shock and hurried back to the room to check the date on her phone.
She let out a laugh as she saw that she had gone back in time to 5 years ago when she was beginning her third year in high school and the place, everything had changed.
"Hahaha... the heavens have given me a second chance!" She grinned excitedly.
"This time, I will not be fooled by fake friendship. You all wait and see, I will get back my revenge!" She declared and already got dressed for her first day as a third year.
