Luca's eyes burned with a mixture of love and sorrow. He cupped her face gently in his hands, his thumb tracing the outline of her lips. "You would do that for me?"
"For us," she corrected, her voice steady despite the uncertainty that loomed. "I'll do anything for us."
The cave was quiet, save for the sound of their breathing. Outside, the moon climbed higher in the sky, casting a soft light through the entrance. Selene knew that they couldn't stay hidden forever. But in that moment, with Luca's warm presence beside her, it felt as though the rest of the world had vanished.
