Riele's POV
"Lily, it's almost time for class we need to head back to school" I yelled at Lily who paid no attention to me because all her attention was on the claw machine in front of her as she tried to win a pink pig with big blue eyes.
I gave her a light knock on her head and then she dropped the pig from her claw. She glared and me and focused back on trying to get her pig.
"We have class to attend, lets go" I yelled at her. This wasn't the first time she did something like this.
" What's with you and school Rie, let's enjoy the moment" she said nonchalantly at this point I was annoyed and was done convincing her. She shouldn't bother.
"I am not going to be late to school because of you again." I grabbed my keys from her and walked out leaving her there.
She ran after me holding the little bunny she won. She finally gave up on that ugly looking pig.
" Then whose gonna drive me home" she jumped in. I'm glad she remembered that she bashed her car and it was currently being fixed and that she was going to be stranded without me.
I gave her a smile of victory while she played with the extremely long ears of the bunny.
Lily was my best friend. My only friend at that. Her parents were divorced. She lived with her mom here in New York but made sure to visit her dad every holiday.
I lived with my mom as well because my dad died years ago. I caused his death but mom always told me it wasn't my fault.
I remember crying in the rain begging him to get my puppy Lilo who ran away from home. Dad wanted to get it the next day since it was late and the rain wasn't helping at all but stubborn me didn't listen and then he got hit by a truck.
It still hurt so much and it scarred me and that was part of the reason I had problem making friends or socializing with people because I felt I would burden them like I did my dad.
Lily was my friend because she was a bigger burden than me and was the sweetest person in the world. Stubborn but sweet.
I and Lily were late for class but at least we weren't going to miss it completely. I walked into the class trying to make as little noise as possible, while Lily crawled behind me since Mrs. Scott was her mom's friend and was a blabber mouth. Lily didn't want to get in trouble with her.
Immediately I took my sit. My chair screeched and Mrs. Scott glared at me. Lily was also seated but Mrs. Scott didn't notice her.
"Riele can you explain to the class why you arrived extremely late"
I wish I could tell her that I was only 7 minutes late but I knew she would call me a sass and I would get into more trouble.
Every student turned their heads waiting for me to say something.
I sighed
"Mrs Scott I had a little situation" I yelled in my mind. This was all Lily's fault. If she had listened to me. We would be here much earlier and I wouldn't have to handle every body staring at me.
"What situation?." Mrs Scott asked. She really wanted to embarras me in class.
"I arrived late due to traffic" I lied that was no where near the reason.
"If you remained around the school premises, you would have been in class early enough. Don't you think so miss. Steele?." She asked and I rolled my eyes making sure she didn't see me.
"I...I went to a park. I'm sorry" I apologized. All this wouldn't be happening if someone just listened to me.
" You mean you left to a park with your boyfriend and decided that you can come to class whenever you want"
