Grace Nwosu liked her mornings quiet, her coffee black, and her plans completely her own. At least until the universe or, more accurately, her mother decided otherwise. She had just finished her second cup when her phone buzzed across the kitchen counter. The screen flashed MOM CALLING, which usually meant one of two things: somebody had died, or somebody was about to.
