It was the end of the year, and Frimery was much colder now than in former years.

Stella Walsh was in the kitchen, busy cooking for the whole family.

While watching TV in the living room, her mother-in-law, Zoey Burton, urged her impatiently, "Are you not done cooking yet? What time is it now? Do you want to starve Adrian and me? Then he said in a deep voice, "Ayla will be discharged from the hospital, and she's staying here. You should move out tomorrow."

Stella felt cold in her heart.
