Brielle POV
"Butthead twins! Hey! Butthead twins! Get up-it's time to make breakfast or we are all going to be late for school!" I was jolted awake from a dream where I was curled up on a beach with a good book and some yummy coconut water. One minute I was relaxing and then the next the island was experiencing an earthquake, causing my water to be spilled all over me. I shot up in my bed to find myself soaked with water. My twin sister, Bethany, lay beside me still asleep. She was also drenched with whatever had been thrown at us (hopefully water-it smelled clean at least).
The perpetrator stood in the doorway to our shared room with a smug smile on her face and an empty bucket in her hand. It was a tall, slender she-wolf with ebony hair and eyes that were so dark they appeared almost black. She was dressed in a bright pink dress with huge diamond earrings, her large purse hanging off her shoulder. Dana, the Beta’s daughter, made it a personal mission of hers to make sure we completed all of our responsibilities as Omega servants to all of the ranked pack members. Basically, it just gave her an excuse to torture us and be extra cruel to us.
“Seriously, come on! I’m hungry! You know I need my breakfast before I go to school or I get hangry before lunch.” Dana whined. In years past, I would have given off a smart-ass comment, but after years of beatings and insults from not only everyone in the packhouse, but the pack in general, Bethany and I were extremely submissive. I didn’t even yelp in pain when Dana threw the bucket at my head in exasperation.
"Get up and get to work on breakfast! I will not ask again!" Dana said before throwing her hands in the air overdramatically before stomping down the hallway and back up the stairs. My sister and I shared a small room on the basement floor of the packhouse.
Most of the Omegas lived in the Omega house that was located centrally in the pack so that all the servants had easy access to their jobs. However, my sister and I were considered freaks of nature because we were female twins, not even our parents wanted anything to do with us, so while we were categorized as Omegas, we were considered basically servants to everyone in the packhouse. This included the Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, and their families. The Alpha determined that since we served the pack's leaders, we should live with them so we could be reached at all hours of the day every day of the week. It is very ironic because the current Alpha's sons were twins and getting ready to take over the pack as Alphas, but because they were male twins they each had their own wolves and everything was normal with them. We were the freaks because female twins just had to be different. While the free room and board were convenient since our parents disowned us, it basically led to all of the leaders and eventually all pack members bullying Bethany and me.
We had graduated high school a few years ago but did not attend any type of post-secondary school or college because we knew any other pack would treat us the same as our current one. Since Bethany and I were twins, we could communicate telepathically even before our wolf woke up. Every other wolf can not mind link their pack members until their wolves wake up. As twins, we shared one wolf, named Nireena, as in she lives in both of our minds and speaks to both of us at the same time. It was very confusing at first but we got used to it eventually. Only one of us can shift into Nireena at one time. While one shifts, the other one still has the strength and speed of a wolf but remains in human form. It is very confusing and did not help with everyone already thinking we are freaks. We had both done extensive research but were not able to discover any information about any other wolf twins in any of the history books. There was no hope for us to make anything out of ourselves aside from serving pack leaders if they even let us continue to do that forever. At least we had a place to live and three meals a day, even if we had to cook said meals and clean up after everyone in the packhouse.
