s ago her dad got sick and later died of colon cancer a year ago . But before her dad died, it was she and her dad against world . She never got to know her mom well enough. Her mom died while trying to birth her brother who also died . All this trauma and tragedy made her dad migrate he and her from Lagos Nigeria to California when she was just fifteen years old . He couldn’t deal with the pain of losing his wife and son at the same time . moving to California made her and her dad super close. Her dad had a bakery shop here in California, it wasn’t small and also it wasn’t big but it was enough to provide for her and her dad and they were happy . She tried setting her dad up with other people , he couldn’t. He still loved his wife even after she died. When her dad got sick , he hid it from her . But with time she started to notice that he wasn’t as happy as he was before, he was getting leaner and always looking tired . By the time she confronted her dad to ask him what was wrong , the sickness had worsen . She quit her job to take care of him full time . She followed him to all of his doctors appointments and chemotherapy even though her dad had told her not to worry and go back to work .
