Lizbeth is your typical good girl. She is a straight A student who never does anything controversial until one summer night when she visited her grandmother in California. A few days after, her face was all over the Internet and two hot, bad boys were chasing after her like crazy.
"NO!" I screamed when the guillotine hit my beloved's neck. Then, everything went black.
I woke up in a strange room. An old lady I haven't seen before came to my bed and made me smell something. I threw up instantly. She looked behind her and nodded to the people standing in the doorway.
"Do something about it! She cannot have that bastard's baby!"
The old lady positioned herself between my legs and started to do something on my private part. I kicked her, then with all my remaining energy I tried to get up. I never made it to the door because I fell on the floor. The next moment, I found myself lying in bed surrounded by blurry faces of my parents who seemed so worried. They were urging the old lady again to do something. Then, I felt so weak and sleepy, that I closed my eyes.
Then, I just found myself walking on what looked like a dessert. Wherever I looked, all I could see was an endless stretch of black sand. Everything looked unfamiliar. I was beginning to suspect my parents sent me there to die because they did not approve of my choice for a lover. Based on how tired I was, I had a feeling I was already walking there for ages. Just when I felt like giving up because it seemed like I was just moving in circles in the dessert, I heard a familiar voice. At first, it was just a faint sound. Then, it became loud and clear. Somebody was calling my name.
"Emma!"
I looked behind me and there he was. The love of my life. My Ackley. I cannot believe it. Seeing him there made me so happy. I ran towards him.
"Ackley!"
He closed the gap between us and literally swept me off my feet. We laughed like crazy and kissed passionately like our lives depended on it.
"Thank God, we made it! I thought we would be separated forever! But we made it!" I gushed happily and hugged him tightly. He put me down and capped my cheeks as he rested his forehead on mine. My hands crawled on their own from his waist up to his nape. That was when I felt something odd there and his head suddenly fell on the sand. I was horrified. I screamed in fear. He touched my arm reassuringly and told me it was okay. He then bent and picked up his head and put it back in its place. I was shocked. I couldn't believe my eyes.
"Am I --- seeing a ghost?" I whispered. Still frightened. But I couldn't make myself leave him.
"We both didn't make it there, Emma," he answered sadly as he was looking behind him. I followed his gaze and there I saw from behind the clouds a small room with my parents crying while hugging what seemed to be my --- my body?!
Oh my God!
"But at least we're together now, Emma. Nothing can separate us. Not even death," he said with a tear in his eyes. "I love you! I love you so much!"
I sadly clung to him and wept. When I opened my eyes, we were already in what seemed to be the peak of a mountain. And Ackley was no longer beside me. He was in duel with another man. Both of them were holding what seemed to be a very sharp sword.
"Adair!" I gasped upon seeing my betrothed. I couldn't believe my eyes.
He turned to me with sad eyes. That was when Ackley lunged at him and bury the sword on his chest. He fell down. Ackley then took my hand and we ran away from him as fast as we can.
