"Why did you marry me in the first place when you never loved me?" – A tear slipped down my cheek as I glared at him angrily.
"Answer me!!!" – I yelled, anticipating at least he would open his mouth and speak to me, but then he sat in his wheelchair looking at the outside view through the casement window.
"Dammit, you can't treat me like this. I'm leaving. This isn't a marriage; this isn't home. You fucking locked me in this gigantic place you call home; it's nothing but a prison to me."
Still, there was no answer; he didn't even bother to look at me. I was done at this point. Before everything blows up and I kill myself, I need to get out of this shit.
I walked out, shutting the door behind me with a loud thud. I strode to my room and packed my stuff, crying. I still had no idea why I was crying over something that meant nothing to me.
I should be happy that I'm getting my freedom finally, but here I was crying like a maniac. I dragged my suitcase and stopped at his room door. There was no sight of him; without thinking much, I descended the stairs. When I approached the main door, a big tower blocked me.
Looking up, I saw it was one of Nicholas's men. "Move!" – I shouted.
"You cannot leave ma'am, head back inside." – Said the guard in his robotic voice.
"Who the fuck you think you can order me? Move now before I hit you." – He crossed his arms and stood there looking straight.
When I tried to push him, I heard a cold, stern voice from behind.
"You think you can leave that easily before even I make your life hell?" – I turned around to see Nicholas in his wheelchair glaring and fuming at me in anger. His eyes turned red as he sneered at me devilishly.
"What do..." – Before I could complete the sentence, he rudely cut me off.
"Avery, get back to your room now, else you'll be dead the next minute. I will not even repent and grieve over your lifeless body." – He feuded at me.
The way he spoke and grimaced sent chills to run up and down my spine. I am stubborn and if he thinks he can kill me that easily without me fighting back, let the game begin because I'm not staying in this fucking house and with him anymore.
