Vintage quickly and unconsciously sprinted back. She stared at Martin with fear in her eyes, was he drunk yet?

Chapter 1

Cheating Bastard

"That was amazing!" Herald said tiredly, he looked at Roselyn smiling from ear to ear. "Do you ever stop being so sweet?"

"You have me, you judge." She said, a whiff of arrogance accompanying the sentence. She dragged the sheet to cover her body up to her waist, but left the upper part bare.

"Nope! That is one impossible thing." Herald said and chuckled. Roselyn blushed, satisfied by the praise being showered upon her, she used her hands to seductively draw invisible lines from her chest and round her breast without actually touching her nipples, Herald's eyes glimmered and he stretched his hands to grab her breast.

"No!" Roselyn said frowning a little, she hit his hands away.

"God damn! Why?" Herald roared, obviously fuming from being rejected of his favorite thing.

"Because I said that was the last! What if Vintage finds us? Besides she said she wasn't going to be long, remember?" Roselyn said and quickly stood up from the bed, picking up her clothes from the floor.

"Oh! Vin again? I told you, we should just tell her." Herald said sulkily while he hesitantly wore his shirt, as long as Roselyn was off the bed, it was really game over.

Roselyn turned sharply towards him "Maybe we will tell her after you've got a house and a steady job, she's practically feeding your dumb ass you ungrateful prick!" She snapped.

"At least I'm not her best friend who's fucking her boyfriend." Herald joked and laughed despite the look of warning Roselyn was sending his way. She hissed and stomped out of the room.

"I'm sorry!" Herald screamed and ran after her shirtless, he caught her by the hand and swirled her around, making her body to collide against his, and then he sealed her lips with a kiss. At first she didn't respond but after a few seconds, she raised her hands to grab his hair, her other hands where on his not very beautiful chest.

Click! "Guess who's finally home?" Vintage announced as soon as she stepped into the room, but her findings broke her heart, the two couples that were in an almost heated make out session looked back at her blankly, obviously still trying to recover from the shock. Nothing was said, Vintage neither blinked nor say a word, she just turned back and quietly left the house, like whatever event that just happened in the house didn't at all.

4 month later

"If I don't get this job today, I am finished, so please holy deity, help me out this one time please!" Vintage, Vin for short said, her lips firmly pressed against each other and her eyes tightly shot, her hands joined together in front of her like the virgin Mary statue.

"Vintage, you are late, get the fuck outta here! The deity doesn't have a Lamborghini to lend you now, does she?" Juliet, Vintage mother scorned and Vintage popped her eyes open, she looked at her mother who gave her a 'if you say anything stupid' glare. She looked at her fake Gucci watch and took her tiny fake leather bag and ran out of her room. Vintage or Vin for short, was a pretty petite lady, petite might be a big word, she managed to pass the average height, but her weight was totally on the petite side. One could think she was going to break if she was held way too tight. She wasn't really bothered about the weight though, she worked real hard to get this body, and if it wasn't for her height which she thought wasn't exactly as tall, she could have easily passed on as a model, she had the body and the face. But did that matter? Those physical asset couldn't get her anywhere, she was still broke beyond all word, and if that didn't count for anything, her whole life was crashing down. Her mother was old and sick and needed proper taking care of which was another cost to be covered, her lazy and stupid ex fiancé cheated on her with her best friend, and then had the audacity to run away with the money they or better still, she was gathering for a life that she thought they'd be having together. Guess now she had to start planning for a life of her own, if not she will be kicked out of her tiny apartment that she and her mother were presently managing. Wasn't life amazing!

Racing down the busy Alavantra road, she came to stop at a large gate. "Isn't money good?" She muttered all to herself and went to it. Placing her small hand on the gate, she wanted to knock but noticed a small socket like thing on the wall. 'That must be the bell.' She thought and went to it, pressing it softly at first, but harder after a while. An almost old looking man came to the gate, he was neatly groomed, and he had a grim expression on his face.

"Good day sir! I am here for the interview!" Vin said confidently with a bright smile that the man never returned. He only moved away from the gate to let her in.

The moment Vin stepped into the house, her mouth was let agape, was this paradise? "Holy deity! Have you finally shone on me?" She exclaimed loudly, only to get a frown from the man she was following. This place was exceptionally quiet. Who lived here? Was he the owner of the huge house? What exactly was her job going to be? If she'd get it. This many thought swirled in her head, and she began to feel really nervous.

As soon as Vin stepped into the house, she was almost sure she was dreaming, and she was in a fairy tale land that had a beautiful castle and she was about to be the poor princess that was to marry the handsome Prince. But was this the prince? She thought and looked carefully at the old man. He suddenly stopped walking and pointed for her to seat.

"Sit and wait." Were the only words he said before he disappeared into the big house.

"Mama, I wish you could see this, this house is amazing!" She said softly, looking around in awe and grinning childishly. 'This must be what the call life.' She thought.

"Are you the new governess?" A baritone voice that was almost as melodic as Morgan freeman's asked. Vin quickly sat up right and slowly turned her neck to where the voice was coming from. The very tall masculine man who was equally groomed but not in a totally nerdy way stood, staring at her blankly, yet his presence alone intimidated her to the bone, she felt like she was going to be burned by an invisible fire if he kept looking at her. 'What was that he said about a governess? What was that? She hadn't even been given the job yet, the hell she hadn't even been interviewed yet. Vin smiled and quickly stood up.

"I'm not sure, I just arrived."

"Ah! Master Martin, here you are, the governess have arrived." The old man said, barely looking at Vin. 'Oh! I am the governess!' Vin thought and raised her chest with confidence; she was the governess after all.

"Hmm." Was the only thing the man whom the old man referred to as Martin said before walking away. Vin just kept staring at him, he was weird, but hot!

"You should follow him." The old man said, disrupting her thoughts.

"Oh yes, thank you." She said and smiled widely, the man she later found out was the butler turned and walked away. "Grumpy and old!" she muttered and quickened her step to meet up with her new handsome boss. She followed him closely and he entered into a big room that looked like an office and went to what Vin called the lazy man's seat. The seat turned you to whatever direction you liked and even rolled you round. Pfft! At her former job, she didn't even sit the whole day.

Martin just sat down and stared at her, as if scrutinizing her, Vin figured she should summit her Cv before he swallowed her in his mysteriously burning gaze.

"Good day sir, here is my Cv." She said and stretched a scanty looking file. Martin just kept staring at her, and after a while he spoke.

"I've seen it, and it's no good , you should consider throwing that piece of trash away." He said coldly. 'Piece of trash? Does he know how hard I worked for the trash?' Vin screamed in her head, but smiled lightly on the outside.

"I'm so sorry sir." She said and withdrew the file and stood, looking at him as blankly as he was looking at her. She thought she had gotten the job already, what was all this?

"Miss..." Martin started and was staring at her expectantly.

"Vintage Anderson." She said smiling, he didn't even know her name, how would he have known it was her cv.

"Miss Vintage, I couldn't help but notice in that thing you submitted, that you are very much fluent in the Irish language."

"Yes sir, my grand mum was from Ireland!" Vin said proudly.

"Nice family history." He said sarcastically, and Vin looked at him, her eyes darkening a little, she felt like punching him at the moment, the only bad side to it was that her hands were going to melt off before she touched his face. "I am only interested in your ability to speak the language fluently." Martin finished rudely, wiping the proud smug off Vin's face.

"Yes sir, I am fluent in the language." She answered, sounding pleasantly rude. Martin narrowed his eyes at her, and kept his gaze like that before talking again.

"Good! I wanted someone who could teach them all the subject, but since you're useless in those areas, I'd need you to teach the twins Irish and be their caretaker, the last one got married, and I felt by getting you, I'd be killing two birds with a stone." He explained carefully. "So what do you say?" He asked, looking at her blankly again. 'What was with this man? He never let his eyes express anything, and what was with the suffocating aura? Was it hot? Was it cold? And who the hell does he takes me for? Yes! I don't have money, and maybe I wasn't too good in my school work, but what was that part about me being useless? I am not accepting this job, he is very disrespectful, and I wouldn't be able to put up with it." Vin thought and was about to speak.

"Of course the pay will be five thousand grand per month." Martin said, as if he was reading her mind.

"Five thousand what?" Vin screamed, looking at him bewildered.

"Are you taking the job? Or am I wasting my time?" Martin asked, his eyes finally reflected something, and it was boredom, he although knew that he had hit her where it tickled!

"I love kids! They are my specialty sir." She said altogether, and very quickly.

"I'd take that as a yes." Martin said barely looking at her, he grabbed a check book and was filling it when he stopped and stared up "Of course you know you'd have to move in here?"

"What?" Vin asked, her face looking downtrodden. "Sir, I'm sorry, but I have my mother at home that I need to take care of." She explained. Just when she thought she'd finally have it all. In her whole life, she had barely seen a thousand grand, and now, when all of a sudden she was to receive five thousand grand, a problem arose again. 'Holy deity, are you teasing me?' she thought. Tears where visibly in her eyes as her head thought of a million ways she could still do this job.

"Hmm, well since she could speak Irish too, you could bring her along to assist you, since I'm not even sure you can speak everything." There it was! The holy deity wasn't teasing her at all; he was really out to bless her.

"It will really be an honor working for you Mr. Martin, thank you very much." She said happily, grinning from ear to ear.

"The driver will take and bring you back, you have three hours to report back here." He said, not caring about the very excited girl. "Here is your first payment, if you back out of this job, you'd compensate me with ten percent more of what I've given you. Here, sign this if you agree, and then you can get to packing." He said and turned a piece of paper to face her, it was a contract. Vin suspicion went up, and she didn't bother to hide it.

"Sir, why would I have to pay for leaving the job?"

"For the work you've created for me, finding a new worker isn't exactly easy." Martin simply answered. Still, Vin felt uneasy.

"Sir, these kids of yours, are they nice?"

"Look, if you don't like the job, you could just not sign it and leave." Martin said, he seemed irritated already.

"No I want it!" Vin stretched to sign the document without reading it, the money had gotten to her head, that was all that mattered anyway. As soon as she was done, he gave her the check. For the first time, Vin was holding that much money, luck had finally shone on her, and the best part was that she got to leave in the big and beautiful house with her mum. Whatever the job entailed, she was sure she could handle it.

Juliet wasn't as happy, Vin thought she had brought the best news of their whole lives, but Juliet just indignantly shook her head. "Vin, are you sure it's wise to go and stay in a house of a man we know nothing about? He could be a serial killer for crissake."

"Mama, you worry too much. Okay, he is Mr. Martin, and he's my boss, he has kids and I am going to be there governess." Vin explained, trying to be as patient as she could be.

"Pfft! Nanny!" Her mother scowled, not looking at her. Vin growled quietly and turned to finish packing her things.

"Just be quick about your packing, he gave me only an hour." She lied.

When they arrived at the house, Juliet had the same expression on her face like the one Vin had when she first saw it. After they had settled, Vin decided she wanted to see the kid and get to know them before her job officially kicked off.
