Chapter 1 Prologue

As I slowly opened my eyes, I felt an incredible sense of relaxation and contentment wash over me, and a satisfied smile spread across my face as I wondered at the warmth that surrounded me. My gaze roamed around the unfamiliar surroundings, and for a moment I was confused as to where I was. But then, it all began to come back to me in a rush; the memories of where I was and how I got there filled my mind.

The surreal feeling of the moment left me in a state of disbelief as I turned to see the Alpha peacefully sleeping with his fingers lightly grazing my body. This could be my chance to get out of this situation, I thought to myself. Taking great care not to disturb him, I carefully removed his hands from me, inching away slowly and silently.

My heart raced as I quickly made my way to the door, carefully attempting to turn the handle and make my escape. Just as I was about to make my getaway, I heard a voice which sounded familiar. It was him.

"Where are you going?" he asked with a suspicious tone.

I spun around, plastering a fake smile on my face in an attempt to not let him know of my intentions. Trying hard to hide the fact that I had been nervously holding my breath, I replied in a calm voice,"I...I..I'm just headed to the restroom."

He stood up, walking close to me. My body hit the door that was locked and tried to remain far away from him..

I despise it when people deceive their Mate. You had tried running away before, and I remember how much of an ordeal it was for me to track you down. If you attempt to do it again, there won't be anyone who can rescue you from my grasp. You can take a trip to the restroom if you wish.

I couldn't bring myself to answer him. His words were a stark reminder of the time I had attempted to run away and how difficult it had been for him to eventually track me down. He was right, he had saved me from whatever danger I was in, but at the same time he had taken away my freedom and destroyed my life. I could feel his gaze burning into my back as I silently walked away, nodding in agreement before heading towards the bathroom door.

Once inside, I frantically searched around for anything that could help me make a successful escape this time. My heart was pounding as I looked around the room, desperately hoping to find something - anything - that could help me finally be free once more..

I gazed up at the small window, feeling a wave of relief wash over me as the morning sunlight illuminated the room. I scrambled to open it, silently praying that it would be large enough for me to pass through. My heart raced as I heard the sound of footsteps growing increasingly louder outside the door; this was likely my only chance to escape this living hell I found myself in. With a sudden knock on the door I turn atound.

"Vira, open the door right now!" he yelled, pounding on the door with his fists in a desperate attempt to break it down. I heard his anger and frustration resonating through the walls and I knew I had to act fast.

"Just a minute," I shouted back, frantically looking around for an escape. My heart raced in my chest as I spotted an open window and quickly scrambled up onto the windowsill. As soon as my feet touched the ground outside, I heard a loud crash behind me and knew that he had broken down the door.

I spun around to face him and saw his eyes blazing with rage as he bellowed at me. "You bitch!" he spat out through gritted teeth, but I was already gone, running for my life. With every step, my ankle throbbed painfully, yet still I ran faster than ever before - determined to get away from him and this terrifying situation.

I pushed myself despite the aching pain radiating from my damaged ankle and ran as fast as I could, desperate to get away from this place. The sound of an ominous growl filled the air and with a pit of dread in my stomach, I realized he was on my tail. Hoping against hope that Kira was still in me, I called out to her for help. In a matter of moments, I shifted into my wolf form and Kira, who had been struggling with a broken rib, managed to pick up speed. His footsteps seemed to be getting closer and closer with every second that passed. My heart raced as I shouted out to Kira again, urging her to run faster.

I had been running with Kira, trying to escape the danger that awaited us, when I realized she wasn't going to make it. In a desperate attempt to survive, I quickly changed into my human form and sprinted into the nearest building. Panic-stricken and out of options, I ducked into a small cabinet, hoping he wouldn't find me.

"Come out where you are, you stupid bitch," I heard him call out menacingly. "I promise you when I get my arms on you I will make you positive and remorseful about running away."

My heart was pounding in my chest as fear overwhelmed me. I felt completely helpless as his shadow loomed outside the cupboard door. He was searching for me everywhere and what if he opened it? This thought alone caused me to tremble in fear as the possibility of being discovered seemed certain.

I watched as his figure slowly disappeared from sight and my heart rate dropped in response. I was filled with a sudden feeling of apprehension as the door opened to reveal him, standing there with a wide smile on his face.

"You ungrateful wretch," he scolded me. "After all I have done for you and still you try to run away from me? What am I supposed to do with you?"

I struggled against his grip, desperate to break free. "What is wrong with him? Why won't he let me go? I don't need him, for God's sake, and I'm not his slave!" My mind raced to find a way out of this situation, some plan that would help me escape his wrath.

He stepped closer to me with a sudden jolt when I shouted, "I'M PREGNANT!" His eyes widened as his gaze shifted from my face to my stomach. Then, a big smile spread across his face and he let out a little cheer. He was clearly elated at the news.

Stepping forward, he lifted me up in his arms like a bride and said, "I'm going to be a father soon." It felt like years had passed since I had waited for this moment to come and here it was finally happening.

As I looked into his eyes, I couldn't help but wonder if this meant he wanted to have children or was it just because of the thrill of being able to control someone else's life? Would he be kind and loving towards our child or would he try to shape them into the same kind of person as him? All these thoughts ran through my mind as I watched him savor the moment.

The fear that was inside of me was palpable, and I could tell he had picked up on it. He peered into my eyes, his voice softening as he spoke. "What's wrong, Vira? Are you afraid I'll still punish you?" He continued in a reassuring tone, "I promise to protect you and the baby you are carrying."

I forced a smile on my face and looked away, my heart pounding furiously. I knew if I didn't find a way to get out of this situation soon, I would be facing certain death.

"If only he knew the truth about the pregnancy," I thought to myself.
