Chapter 1 Rude encounter

JULIA

"I hate the club",I said while tugging at Beth's arm.

"You really need to learn how to let loose, babes" Beth,my friend, replied with a huge grin on her face.

"I am loose, I was on the gymnastic team in high school ", I replied jokingly.

"We need this, the semester was tough on us let us unwind a little. I am ready to dance away my sorrows tonight",Beth said while doing a funny little dance. This made both of us laugh out loud causing a few stares from the people around.

We were outside the club "La Vida", it is one of the reigning clubs in London and a lot of people are always waiting to get in.

There were quite a number of people on the line alongside us waiting to get inside the club.

"I really hope dawn breaks before we gain access", I said.

"Why are you like this babes, you should be praying for a miracle right now", Beth replied.

"Hi,Peng lasses", a blonde haired guy with a scar on his jaw who is about five foot eight said.

Both I and Beth looked at each other not knowing what to say but before we could reply he said, "Pretty girls like you shouldn't have to wait out here, I can get you in".

I saw a smile come up on Beth's face, I guess her prayer did work.

"Why, thank you...we really appreciate your help but we will prefer to wait in line."

That is what I wanted Beth to say but instead she said, "Thank you, that is so nice of you". I could hear the excitement in her voice.

I was very skeptical about receiving help from random strangers and especially not one from a guy at the club, I wouldn't like any silly assumptions arising just because he helped us get it in.

The blonde guy led us towards the side entrance of the club and the bouncer at the door gave him a nod and we entered the club.

The club was in full spirit. People were busy turning and swirling on the dancefloor but I don't really care for all that, I am just here because Beth doesn't want to be alone and we girls have to stick together.

I proceeded to hold Beth's hand trying to drag her towards the bar away from the blonde guy but he already opened his mouth to say, "Would you girls like to join our table in the VIP section"

"Well, yes we would", Beth replied smiling.

"Oh, I don't like where this is going", I thought. I don't want this guy thinking we are some whores looking for free drinks, but Beth was so excited she did not notice me pinching her elbows.

I don't want to be the vibe killer and I can't leave my friend alone with some random guys so I decided to follow her to the table.

The blonde guy must have sensed my discomfort because he said, "Don't worry, we don't bite", while licking his lips.

"This is a sign" I thought, we need to run.

Lucas POV

Fred is literally one of the worst people to go clubbing with, we've been here only thirty minutes and he's already wasted.

This time around is justifiable because he is heartbroken. His girlfriend of three years just broke up with him because she got pregnant by another man.

"Women are the worst" I thought. This is why I don't like relationships with so many emotions attached. I just do my one night stands and that's it. I don't have time for relationships, not even with everything going on at the office.

I took a sip of my whiskey and moments from the office earlier today just keep flooding my mind.

"Gosh! I hate Rufus", I said out loud but people did not seem to hear or care, the club is pretty loud.

I hate that he is still tormenting me even in my head, I really wish he wasn't my twin that makes it more annoying. I don't get why he is suddenly interested in the affairs of the company. He acted so nonchalant all these while after I have put years of hardwork in growing the company alongside Father, all of a sudden he shows up.

I don't even want to think about it. I poured more whiskey into my glass and as I was about to sip it I watched two girls walk towards the table adjacent to mine, a blonde haired guy leading them.

I thought, "He's got some entertainment".

It's not like we couldn't have girls on our table too but I don't want Fred to burst into tears in front of them, I can't take in that display.

"I need to use the bathroom", I thought.

I nudged Fred and screamed into his ears, "I'll be right back".

Julia POV

"Ladies, meet my guys", the blonde haired guy said.

I looked at two other men already sitting at the table, "these men are way over thirty",I thought.

"Sit, sit", one of the men at the table said, the coloured lights in the club could not make me tell if he was a brunette or black haired.

We took the seat opposite the guys, well it was the same couch we all sat on, you know the way club seats are like.

"Forgive my manners", the blonde haired guy said. "I did not even introduce myself to you".

" I am Chad, this is William",he pointed in the direction of the brunette or black haired man, "and, this is Paul", he said pointing at the last man who had not uttered a word since we got to the table.

He just kept staring at us, I think me particularly but I can't be so sure, Beth is also beside me.

He is bald headed and the only one wearing a suit amongst the men, "maybe he came straight from the office",I thought.

"Hey guys, I'm Bethany but my friends call me Beth and she is Julia", Beth said all bubbly.

I don't get why she's so excited, because of a VIP table?

I still did not say a word, just gave the guys one of my fakest smiles.

"Not much of a talker, aight", Paul the bald headed man said.

"You speak too", I replied sarcastically.

All the men at the table burst into laughter, I kept wondering what is so funny.

"I knew I'll like you",Paul said licking his lips.

"Is the like a thing in their clique", I thought.

"I need to use the restroom, Beth, would you like to escort me?" I asked.

"Don't worry, I'm sure you'll be just fine on your own", she replied.

I know Beth can get pretty boy crazed but this is too much for people we just met.

I looked at her thinking she would get me but she was rubbing the arm of the blonde haired boy, smiling away.

I feel so irritated, she literally forced me to come here with her and instantly ditched me for some men.

"I could escort you", Paul the bald headed man said.

"That's so nice of you", Beth replied grinning.

"You did not just do that", I wanted to say but decided not to.

"There will be no need for that Paul, I can find my way to the restroom", I said, and walked away from the table.

I have no idea where the bathroom is but I just walked towards the bar and decided to ask the bartender, but before I could do that I felt a hand on shoulder, which turned out to be Paul.

"I can show you where the restroom is," he said, screaming into my ear.

"Don't worry I got this" I replied.

"I don't think you do, you wanted to ask the bartender".

"Can't a girl order a drink?", I said arching my brows.

"We've got plenty on our table, what else do you need",he replied.

"This guy doesn't get a hint, why can't he just leave me alone", I thought.

I saw a group of girls walk towards one of the corridors and decided to follow them but before I could Paul's hand was on my arm preventing me from moving forward.

"Let me take you",he said, licking his lips."Here we go again", I thought.

"Can you please leave me alone?", I said, trying to get away from his grasp.

"Leave her alone", a handsome looking man said, releasing my arm away from Paul's hand.

"This doesn't concern you, mate", Paul said.

"Yes, it does, she clearly doesn't want you, mateee", the handsome man replied.

I guess Paul did not want to cause a scene because he backed out raising his hands and walked away from our sight.

"Such a coward", I thought.

"Are you okay, miss", the handsome man asked.

I don't know why I replied as I did when I was supposed to be grateful to him but I said instead, " I never asked for your help, sir".

He stared at me surprised by my response, "I'm sorry but I didn't mean any harm , I saw tha.."

"So,you saw what ", I said, cutting him off.

"Learn to mind your business, I am not a damsel in distress", I said.

I did not give him a chance to reply but walked away towards the exit of the club.

I received a pornographic video. "Do you like this?" The man speaking in the video is my husband, Mark, whom I haven't seen for several months. He is naked, his shirt and pants scattered on the ground, thrusting forcefully on a woman whose face I can't see, her plump and round breasts bouncing vigorously. I can clearly hear the slapping sounds in the video, mixed with lustful moans and grunts. "Yes, yes, fuck me hard, baby," the woman screams ecstatically in response. "You naughty girl!" Mark stands up and flips her over, slapping her buttocks as he speaks. "Stick your ass up!" The woman giggles, turns around, sways her buttocks, and kneels on the bed. I feel like someone has poured a bucket of ice water on my head. It's bad enough that my husband is having an affair, but what's worse is that the other woman is my own sister, Bella. ************************************************************************************************************************ “I want to get a divorce, Mark,” I repeated myself in case he didn't hear me the first time—even though I knew he'd heard me clearly. He stared at me with a frown before answering coldly, "It's not up to you! I'm very busy, don't waste my time with such boring topics, or try to attract my attention!" The last thing I was going to do was argue or bicker with him. "I will have the lawyer send you the divorce agreement," was all I said, as calmly as I could muster. He didn't even say another word after that and just went through the door he'd been standing in front of, slamming it harshly behind him. My eyes lingered on the knob of the door a bit absentmindedly before I pulled the wedding ring off my finger and placed it on the table. I grabbed my suitcase, which I'd already had my things packed in and headed out of the house.
