Chapter 1 CHANGE
Hitisha, standing in disbelief stared at her father she screamed with tears in her eyes “Daddy tell
Me what Mum just said is not true”
Mr Smith looked at her with a grin on his face “My child I'm only trying to build your future “
Hitisha was heartbroken with tears dropping down her clothes she was devastated and surprised at her father's reply to her question
“I will never get married to a stranger all because of your selfish interest never”
She said as she ran away from the room.
“What do we do Daniel”? Hitisha asked her lover on the phone “What do we do I'm confused my father is serious about marrying me off to that stranger what do we do” she asked with a low and disturbing voice
“Let's run away hitisha you know I can't live without you babe” Just as Hitisha was about to say something, her door opened hitisha thought it was her father so without turning around to see who it was dropped the call and said without looking “Dad please leave my room have told you I I won't marry that stranger”
“I guess I'm the stranger correct?”
He was standing inside her room with a smirk on his face.
“Oh Mr Donovan, or do you prefer billionaire Donovan sir” she asked sarcastically “ Actually I prefer husband if you don't mind” She immediately rolled her eyes
“Leave my room, Donovan, “ she said angrily her face burning with anger, he looked at her for a while then walked towards her and grabbed her by her shoulders with a tight look “You don't get to tell me what to say or do girl “
“You are hurting me, Donovan stop holding me so tight, “Hitisha said with a pitiful look
“Maybe if you beg me I might let you go don't you dare think you can speak to me how you like because you are going to be my wife that's not how it works girl watch your mouth I'm doing your entire household big favor by marrying you, you should thank me” His hands still on her shoulders pressing them
“Donovan let me go” He pushed her away she fell to the ground
Her face was pale and her eyes very teary she was trembling and in serious confusion and fear at that moment she was in disbelief that her father wanted her to marry this man. She looked at him and before she could say anything he cut her off
“Now listen to me, girl you don't disrespect me, and every time you disrespect me you get punished a real punishment I hope you understand what I'm saying. I'm not just any kind of guy I'm Donovan Williams lady you should be grateful I want you in exchange for a casino in my hotel when you could have asked for better and bigger things”. Hitisha still on the floor looked at Donovan with utter disgust and shock
She thought to herself “This can't be real, what is going on here is this the same Donovan that is always on the front page of every newspaper about his good deeds”
“Girl are you listening to me you look lost,” he asked while looking down at her on the floor. She got up and walked out of her room gently to her mum and dad downstairs in the sitting room where they were both waiting for her na Donovann.
“Dad do you know what just happened in my room with that man you sold me to?? Do you know what he did to me, Mum you won't believe what that man just did to me in the room, he purposely was hurting me he pressed his fingers in my shoulders” she said with tears running down her cheeks she moved her clothes for her mum to catch a glimpse of what Donovan did to her and how red her shoulders have become. Her mum looked helplessly at her.
Mrs. Smith loved her daughter dearly but at that point was helpless because even she knew how selfish her husband could be “My daughter I understand you please calm down” her mother said to her “Mum you don't understand he pushed me on the floor. Mum, I can't marry that man please Mum, Dad say something no matter how greedy one maybe they still care about their loved ones, Dad I'm your only child of course you want me to be happy right? Dad, please say something I beg of you “ Hitisha held her father's hand softly. Mr. Smith avoids eye contact with his daughter “Hitisha, this is for your future my dear daughter just give it time” Hitisha immediately let go of her father’s hand at that point she hated her dad “How can you say this dad, when did you become this greedy all these just for a fucking casino?” Hitisha moved away from her father when she saw Donovan coming out of her room she looked at him with a tight face cleaning her tears “I hate to break it to you Dad but I won’t marry that man never and that’s final”. Her eyes still on Donovan, he looked at her smiled, and walked to her dad
“I can guess you haven’t told your daughter about the contract you signed right? Well, I hate to break it to you Hitisha but your dad signed an agreement he can’t refuse now and you must have to marry me, little miss”. He said with a huge smirk on his face “Why?? Why must I marry you Donovan I said I won't and what's this about agreements Dad” She turned to her father
“I will tell you hitisha, I'm getting you in exchange for a casino in my hotel which you already know about, my hotel is one of the biggest in the world second biggest to be precise the first is my father's. Your dad will make tons of millions of dollars in a single day and I'm giving him, I only need you in return so your dad signed an agreement that if he doesn't get you to marry me I have the right to seize all of his properties completely everything and even get him arrested not just him along with your precious mum. So the choice is yours, lady you decide what it will be” He said and walked out of the house
Hitisha is in her room completely devastated and heartbroken crying so much she is still in complete shock
How could her dad sign such an agreement why would he do that to her she thought to herself she felt betrayed by her father how could he do this to her she's his daughter his only child.
Her phone rang it was her lover, Daniel, they had been together for a long time and her parents knew him he wasn't as rich as Donovan but he was comfortable and they loved each other so much. She picked up the call after clearing her throat to sound normal
“Hello baby “
“Hey Mama are you good” he said curiously
“Daniel is way more serious than we thought honestly I need you to Come over, please” She dropped the call and went inside the bathroom to take a shower. She came out of the bathroom and Daniel was there she could see how worried he looked at her
“Oh Daniel “ she quickly went to give him a big hug
“What do we do baby,” he asked seriously
I'm not sure”
“What exactly is wrong” he asked curiously.
Hitisha explained everything to Daniel and they both got teary-eyed
He looked at her and took her to the bed pressing his lips to hers she returned the kiss it was getting very tense just then her phone rang, and she looked at it, it was Donovan she was surprised how did he even get her number she thought. She picked up the call before she could say anything he quickly cut her off and said “ I see you, little miss” Hitisha quickly rushed to her window to see if Donovan was there but he wasn't neither was his car she rushed outside her room but he wasn't there, Daniel looking confused “who is on the phone” she told him to not talk she said quietly but Donovan already heard Daniel
“I guess I wasn't wrong your boy toy is in fact in your house wow you have lots of guts Hitisha Smith”. He said with a thick voice “You brought a man to your house in your room do you have no shame or self-respect, now listen to me you better get yourself here right now, or else if I come there your father will get it from me” He said loudly and ended the call.
Hitisha in a completely shocked state sat on the bed and explained everything to Daniel
“Hitisha you can't go to that man you can't You don't even know what he's like you said yourself that he almost Hurt you earlier right imagine how he would react when you got there to make matters worse he somehow even knows I'm here you can't go there, babe,” Daniel said with a tight and serious face he was scared not for himself but for Hitisha they go way back they have been together for years and he loved her a lot he wasn't ready to lose her to his fellow man but he always knew the odds were not in his favor.
“Daniel, have seen that man he's not a joke he is so scary I tell you I don't want him to come down here, please you need to understand me”
“Hitisha don't tell me you are starting to like that man”
“Excuse me,” she said rolling her eyes and burning with so much anger she was so angry at herself at Daniel, and most especially at her dad he was the cause of everything he was the one making Donovan speak down on her.
She told Daniel to leave her house because she was too angry to speak to him, Daniel left the house and Hitisha sat on her bed thinking about her next move she stood up and put on a red shirt and dress tied her hair her face was so pale she applied the cream cleaned herself up walked out of her room she saw her mum standing there alone and crying, she stood there looking at her mother. Her phone rang and it was Donovan she hesitated to pick up the call but eventually she did.
“Yee Donovan I'm on my way “
“My driver is outside he will bring you to me and, hey, could you dress nicely my friends are here okay” he said harshly then ended the call on her before she could say anything
Hitisha walked past her mum without saying a word she was too frustrated and tired her mum tried calling her but didn't. She entered the car and they drove to a villa in the woods. The car stopped when she opened the car Donovan was standing there with his golf stick.
“I see he has been having fun playing golf after almost killing me right must be nice,” she thought to herself bitterly.
“Hey babe how are you doing “
Hitisha without saying a word walked past him and went inside she kept looking around she sat down on the chair
“ NO NO, not there don't sit there let's go up there he pointed upstairs
“I'm fine here Donovan you wanted to see me I'm here now, “ she said seriously, hitisha was not having it and was not ready to be alone in a room with Donovan
Donovan walked to her and looked down at her “Get up immediately hitisha and follow me right now” he said authoritatively. Hitisha was trembling with fear he looked so serious and angry “If you don't come with me I will drag you up there I swear”
The door opened and someone entered “Oh don't speak to her like that”.
