When ugly becomes the CEO

Let me tell you a story, of how I got here, from being so poor, called ugly to working countless jobs, to get where I am, a CEO and married to a smoking hot Husband, Where to begin!?

Ace pov

I woke up, and did my business. Brushed my teeth, then did my normal skin care routine. Untill I was interrupted by my flat mate, who decided to scream in her sleep. I walked over to her “Evie, get up, Evie get up?!” I attempted again to wake her up. To my surprise she didnt budge, and continued sleeping. I looked up and asked the heavens, as to why I have a meaningless life, stuck with a flat mate, whom likes to scare the shit out of me.!

It became clear to me that. , she was in deep with her dreams that she didn’t respond, so I continued with my skin care routine. It was 6 am, and I have an interview in 2 hours for a job at a cafe, near our apartment.

Evie is my best friend from childhood, even though she came from a wealthy family, she chose to be beside me after graduating, and here we are 2 years later, our friendship grew more stronger,by living together fresh out of college! Before finishing getting dress, I looked at myself in the mirror, and sighed and once again cursing as how ugly I looked. But never did it clouded my ego to get a job and prepared for what this day brings. Before rushing out the door , to my surprise Evie was up, she gave me a puzzled looked “Ace, where you going at this time?, did I talk in my sleep again?”

I stood there taken aback, I responded with a puzzling look “yes,yes you did. This time you freaked me out, you screamed this time”

She sat there, for a very long time before she spoke “sorry Ace. Oh that’s right, your going for an interview right? Is it that cafe that just opened ?,near our apartment ?” I nodded and waved her goodbye.

I walked out of our apartment and strolled down the street. As I was walking towards the cafe, a lavish and expensive black Lamborghini pulls up, outside the cafe I was heading to. Before crossing the road, I stared at the Lamborghini, as the door opens , my jaw dropped when I saw this smoking hot guy get out of the Lamborghini , tall about 6 feet 9, a well build with muscles to die for wearing a nude top right displaying his abs in every way with jeans that sculpt his body so nicely. As I was staring; I didn’t realised at that time, he was looking directly at me to.

I entered the cafe, while walking to the counter to let them know I’m here for my interview, my eye gradually scanned the cafe, don’t ask why I did that, I guess it was curiosity. Our eyes met and I stood there, looking like an utter fool. I quickly gave him a fake smile gesture and he nods and send me a smirk smile. I stood there in dazed. What was that smile? I thought to myself. As I sat there, awkwardly trying to avert myself looking at him again, a stunning lady came to my aid. “Hi, I’m Jade, I’m manger here at the sandwhich club, you must be Ace? Here looking for a Job, right?” I quickly got up and approach as quick as I can “Hi Jade, yes, I’m Ace. And yes, I’m here for your position you advert!” If there was a bomb, I wish it struck this specific spot, I was so nervous , I almost fainted.! “Nice to meet you Ace!”

“How bizarre, that your names Ace! Okay, getting straight to the point, are you able to work 5 days a week?, and maybe weekends if called on?”

“Yeah, I get that a lot, and yes I can and no problem, weekends are fine also!” As we discussed when I’ll be starting, I kept feeling that someone was still staring at me, I turned to look where he was sitting and sure enough, he was starring,

properly confused and maybe disgusted by the way I looked to him, knowing how handsome he is and let’s not forget his emerald green eyes.

“Ace, are you still with me?”

“Hmmm, huh, oh sorry. Yeah I’m listening.”

“I would like to start you tomorrow, 7am sharp, clock off at 3pm, I’d like you to stay for an extra hour today, so can introduce you to our stuff, if you are in no rush!”

I must be that ugly that he won’t stop staring!

“Yup that’s absolutely fine!”

Jade suddenly stoped talking and quietly pointed me to where we going. As I follow Jade into the kitchen , I kept wondering why a smoking hot guy that’s properly a billionaire, came here to a small town? As my thoughts run wild, I got interrupted by Jade once again asking if I was listening.

Jades POV

I’m beginning to wonder if this new girl, Ace is the one he was looking for ? As I was interviewing her, I could sense her uneasiness. I quickly glance at him, sure enough he was looking! Hmmm I wonder if it’s her?

5mins into chatting with her, I hired her. There’s something this girl has that makes me want to be bffs with her. I’m glad I was the one who interviewed her even though Evie the spoil brat, not that I’m complaining as I too have a fair share, asked my older brother to hire her best friend. I never liked her, she was always demanding things from my brother let alone engaged to him. After telling Ace to come with me to meet everyone, I was surprise he was still sitting there hmm wonder if he’s waiting for my older brother too. I introduce her to everyone and she smiled and shook everyone’s hand. After finishing off the paper work with Ace and seeing her off. I approach him.”Hey handsome, what are you doing here all of a sudden? Are you waiting for someone, something ? If it’s me you waiting for, your too kind, may I take a seat?” He’s my cousin, first cousin as we speak, we grew up together, so we all treat each other as siblings but I look at him and duke as stuck up idiots

Damian POV

I got out of my car after, driving a few hours from my home in the city, I finally arrived . When I got close to the cafe, I notice someone starring as I look over across the road. she was standing there,looking at my direction, she was wearing a nice floral dress that showed her cleavage a little, just a over he knees the dress falls nicely showing me how nice her legs are, As I remember, she’s one stunning and beautiful girl. I shut my door to my Lamborghini adjusted my shirt and entered the cafe, little did I know she was coming in as well. As I looked at her going to the counter, I couldn’t help but acknowledge the beauty that’s standing before me. I couldn’t help myself so I just stared at her. Hoping that she won’t look at me. Untill I heard Jade come out of the kitchen talking to her. Oh she was here for an interview. I hope when I approach her, she won’t refuse me. But for now I am going to get comfortable with my new life here. Oh so I thought.

I was observing her getting interviewed to Jade taking her to meet everyone. And then she departs the building while Jade walked over my way , shit where is Duke when you need him. Now I’ll have to explain to my little cousin as to why I’m here. Damn it !

Jade “hello earth to Damian, are you there?”

“Oh sorry, Jade. Yes present. Haha. I was thinking about something, forgive me for my rudeness. By the way, Jade where is Duke?” Before she could answer me, he bolts in the front door, chanting and happy. Oh boy here we go!!

Duke“why hello, my fellow cousin/bestfriend/soon to be my best man. What brings you back Home away from the city dear cousin?”

Damian “do you have to greet me like that every time we meet? I suppose you have been busy?”

I was trying my best to look pass him, wondering which direction she went to but was to late she left already.

Duke”What brings you here Damian? Heard your business is flowing greatly, to what we owe this pleasure of your return? Perhaps an invitation to your proposal to what’s her name? Lindsay, Britney or Bethany ? Haha”

Damian”very funny bean bag, I came back to get away from the city for awhile as for the names you have mention, they bore me so left it as that! Nothing to pride about, they were just flings, by the way speaking of proposal, how’s your proposal going? Have you asked her yet, or cat caught your tounge?”

Me and Duke were pretty much like brothers, as I’m the eldest and so is he. And we both have 2 younger sisters. Our fathers are brothers, hence why the formality’s are out the window when we see each other, even though we are well known and respected family we tend to keep to ourselves.

Duke “oh you have jokes now, let me tell you on a little secret, it’s called LOVE. If you know, that you are meant to be, get down in one knee and you make you propose before someone comes steal her away!”

Damian” wow are you actually in LOVE, that surprising coming from someone who doesn’t know how to keep his manhood exploiting every lady in the city, tell me Duke, who captured your heart?” Duke and I had a share of woman in our teenage years to our early 20’s now we are both 26 and ready to settle, we’ll I am, but can’t say much about Duke!

Duke “ her name is Evie, you remember her right? She’s a William, yes her father is the owner for the biggest law firm, the Williams And law co. Met her out in the farm, dropping off my mother to her high tea. We exchanged numbers, and here I am 2 years and decided to pop the question, to my surprise she said yes, approval from her father and mother also. So my dear cousin, when will you have someone to share your heart with?”

Jade”I’m beginning to wonder, if I’m invisible to you both. You both drive me insane. If you both need me, I’ll be in the kitchen. Damian , brother, I shall take my leave.!”

Duke” sorry my little sister, will discuss business with you soon. Thank you, will catch up at home”

As Jade left after Duke kissed her on the head, the two grown men sat at the table un silence, like they have so many thoughts brewed in them. All of a sudden, a voice came from the counter. It was Jade calling out to Damian.

Jade POV

While I was standing behind the counter, taking orders I notice a white BMW parked opposite the street, couldn’t figured who was there until the owner of the car, got out making there way over to the cafe. Oh great here we go, just as we left the drama in the city it seems like that drama followed Damian over here too, here’s to peace and quiet. Annoyed as I was she entered the cafe, pretending not to notice, Damian or Duke. She approach the counter.

Sherly” oh hi Jade, I didn’t know you live in this, small town. I took a wrong turn and ended up here, can you point me to the right direction as to where I can find Damian please? I have matters to discuss with him.”

Shirley is one of Damian’s fling, who seem to not get that she’s just a side piece. All these girls that have been with my brother and Damian all think they are high and mighty, because they slept with them. How shameful. Oh I hope that the girl i interview is Damian’s first love.!

Jade “ my,my you are far from where you belong, did you really take a wrong turn or your ego got the best of you and followed a black Lamborghini here, it’s 2 hours from the city, how’d you manage to take a wrong turn? Shirley!!” Never once liked her, she was after money and power, it’s a shame my cousin Damian stoop that low to even go to her. Mind you I have never like any female that came home with them both, they were all shameful sluts who were after money or power.

Shirley “ oh don’t be foolish little Jade, I did take the wrong turn, but I saw Damian’s car parked outside, while I was driving to a near by gas station. So I stoped in to see if he was here, I missed him so much, he just left my apartment with out a word, and it’s been 2 weeks since I last saw him. So is he here?”

Before I spoke, I glance at the table where they were sitting and just like that they both left without an explanation, here I am again stuck with their sluts picking up after them. Why do I even bother sometimes, I knew they both would do this.!

Jade”as you can see Shirley, he’s not here, nor do I know where he is. He did park his car there, but never saw him coming in. So be on your way back to the city, when I do see him, I’ll let him know that you stopped in!” Before I could say something else, the door open and Ace was awkwardly walking up to us. I turned my frown into a big smile when she was approaching us, I quickly flag my hands towards Shirley to move, she looked very irritated.

Jade “ Hey, are you alright? Did you forget something?” I’m confident that this girl, is going to marry into our family. The way Damian was looking at her, I’ve never seen him look at any of his sluts like that even to Shirley who he has been toying with, poor girl doesn’t know who she’s dealing with.

Ace” Hey Jade, I forgot to ask about uniforms, is there a specific dress code we need to follow?”

Jade “ oh yes, when you come in tomorrow, I’ll have your uniform prepared. As u can see, black is what we wear. I’ll just be providing you with a shirt. Anything else?”

Ace “ oh ok, thank you Jade, I shall take my leave,I’ll see you tomorrow 7am sharp!”

I smiled at her, and waved her goodbye, gosh she’s so stunning. I hope she becomes my in-law. Bex will be thrilled if she hears her brother finally settling down.!

For a few seconds, deep in my thoughts have forgotten that Shirley was still standing there waiting for answers.

Shirley “hello, little Jade, are you going to answer me?” Just before I went to answer her, Damian came from the back along with Duk. Oh thank goodness.

Damian “Shirley what the heck are you doing here? How’d you know I was here?”

Shirley “ oh hey baby, I missed you so much so I followed you here! Can I please stay with you for a little while, then I’ll go back to the city.” Damian “look Shirley, when we got together, we both agreed no strings attached, go home, I’ll ring you when I get back tomorrow!” Shirley “ but baby, are you not even going to take me out for dinner?”

While Damian was trying every excuses in the books to get rid of her, I stood there, looking at my brother, who wasn’t even interested in the commotion that’s before him, but was more interested in who he was texting so I nudge him and asked “who the heck are you texting, are you not going to help him out?” Duke” oh my little pea, when it comes to woman I’d rather stay out of Damian’s affairs. As u can see, he’s got it handled!” We both looked at each other and started laughing. Our laughs were so wild that made Shirley unsettled.

Shirely “ fine baby, I’ll go back now, but you make sure you come to once you come back to the city tomorrow, I’ll treat you well!” She winked at Damian then left. Yuck I just wanted to vomit at the site of her. I looked at Damian and said “ sometimes I wonder why you both even go to that extend, I can’t deal with her! She’s so fucking fake Damian!, she’s only after one thing from you!” Damian “ thank you for your concerns my little buttercup, watch your mouth next time, a sweet girl like you don’t need such vulgar language!” He caressed my cheeks and kisses my forehead. Sometimes I hate it when they call me my nicknames, I’m not a little girl anymore.! Jade” fine, but just letting you know, my name is Jade! I’m a grown woman now not a little girl anymore.” They both looked at me and laughed. What’s so funny. Sometimes I wonder if I’m related to both of them. Idiots!

Damian pov

As soon I saw a white BMW parked outside i knew who it belong to, so I quickly looked over to Jade then to Duke. “Duke, let’s go for a cigarette , do youse have a back door?” Puzzled and confused duke turn and nod and for me to follow suit. We quickly left, as soon as we got out I told him about Shirley, man did I thought I hit the Jackpot untill I found out that sweet Shirley wasn’t as sweet. Told him everything and to my surprise he was listening instead of mocking me. That’s odd Duke has changed , but is the change good or bad I shall find out. Before we entered as I can hear Jade getting whiled up, I heard her voice. So I quickly peeked through the window, it’s her again. I wonder how far she lived. While I was taken aback by her gorgeous aura, duke was saying something but I wasn’t listening, I was to focused on studying the girl that Jade was talking to. While I was still looking, she turned and left and so I kept my eyes on her then she despaired after the crossings. Damn it, I need to know her.!

Duke gave me the all clear to walk in, knowing that Jade was properly getting angry. We walked in and Shirley standing there, with her dress almost showing her ass, looked over to me and ran to me like a lost puppy.! Why did I mingle her, my whole body stood still when she bear hugged me, fuck, I feel disgusted. After awhile I finally got rid of her, thank the heavens!

Duke”so how long you planning on staying, by the looks of things, you are here more then a day? Am I correct?”

Daammmn you Duke, you know my intention! Damian “ as you said, you are correct. I want to get away from the city. I left my trusted right hand man to take over while I’m away, but I’ll still be checking in. Time for me to take a break , I miss it here! Unless you both don’t want me here, then I’ll move to another town.?”

Dummie “ who would take you in anyways? Hahah” he laughed so hard at his joke, he forgot that u have a temper, I quickly react with a punch straight to his mouth, he tumbled to the floor then quickly regain his posture and charged at me, so we both started fighting until the door opened and all I heard was “ that’s enough, your childish way should’ve been long gone, but no here you are still little boys seeking stupidity, this is a cafe not a boxing club, behave yourselves or I’ll take you both home and punish you too.! Am I understood !!?” Both Duke and I nod our heads as we both said “ yes grandmother, apologies for our behaviour!” Grandmother “Apologies accepted now come here you three and welcome me with your hugs, I’ve missed you all so much,!” As the night started settling in we all went back to my grandmothers estate, this town is owned my our family. Our grandparents are both still alive, and both lived out in the heart of the forest in the biggest estate in the whole entire country!! The mansion has 40 rooms and each room were all kept as they were when they had their kids, and their kids had children's and so fourth, here I am a great grandchild.
