It was a warm summer day when Emma first laid eyes on Lucas. She had been sitting in a coffee shop, sipping on her latte and lost in thought when he walked in. His smile was infectious, and his eyes sparkled as he greeted the barista. Emma couldn't help but steal glances as he sat down at a table across the room.
As fate would have it, Lucas caught her eye and smiled, causing Emma to blush and quickly look away. But to her surprise, he got up and made his way over to her table.
"Hi, I'm Lucas," he said, extending his hand. "I couldn't help but notice you from across the room. Mind if I join you?"
Emma's heart skipped a beat as she nodded, unable to form any coherent words. They struck up a conversation and soon found themselves engrossed in each other's stories, laughing and sharing their dreams and aspirations.
As the afternoon turned to evening, Lucas asked Emma if she would like to go for a walk with him. Without hesitation, she agreed, and they strolled through the streets, their laughter filling the air.
As they reached her apartment, Lucas hesitated before saying, "I've had a wonderful time getting to know you, Emma. Can I take you out on a proper date tomorrow night?"
Emma's smile widened as she nodded, feeling butterflies fluttering in her stomach. Little did she know, this chance meeting would change her life forever.
