Chapter 1 He Rejected Me

Zoey

"They must be killed. The Alpha shouldn't sit back and allow those bloody Lycans to roam near our pack!"

I heard the elders yelling at the top of their voices.

For a hundred years now, Lycans and Werewolves have been nothing but sworn enemies, set to devour the other once they lay their eyes on them.

It is said that one with the silver wolf from the heavens will unite them both as one kingdom, filled with Harmony and Peace.

But I'm wondering if such will ever happen.

With the way everyone is cursing and wishing ill on the other, I doubt if the goddess will ever send such a creature to bring peace.

"At least, if she can consider my case," I sighed, feeling sad.

Just then, an elder yelled at me from where I stood. I lifted my gaze to find eyes falling on me.

"What are you doing here, you accursed omega?" One asked, sending the others to raise the fork where they sat.

I felt my heart pounding, drifting away from the elders and the other pack members around.

Why did I stop?

"You have the nerve standing to listen to us, you abomination."

"Get lost!"

They all yelled, tossing stones at me.

I immediately walked away to avoid any more trouble, but their voices and roar had already gotten the pack people around, staring at me with detest.

"Filthy Omega."

"It's that cursed omega. No one should be near her or she'll take your lives as well."

They all said, running curses and abuses on me. Anywhere I stepped, it was either someone who tossed something hard at me or they insulted me.

Cursed Omega. How is it my fault?

This is all because of that night when those rogues attacked.

It was my sixth birthday.

My mother, who was loved by many, was brutally murdered by the rogues that very day. It was an intense battle on the pack, but it felt like the battle was mainly to protect me.

Anywhere I ran to or moved to hide, a rogue would spring out to kill me, and then someone would step in to save me, taking the fall.

That day, many died. Even though the Alpha of then was able to defeat the rogues, the Pale Moon pack felt like a loser.

The cry of a helpless mother, who lost her son, sparked the people's rage on me. Her son died while saving me, and she blamed me for the pack's loss, stamping me as a cursed wolf.

Abuses and torture I endured from them for years. No one showed any love for me.

When I clocked eighteen, waiting to unleash my wolf to all, my world came crumbling when nothing happened.

I have no wolf in me.

That increased the torment. They all felt the goddess was punishing me for their past loss.

It's such a painful experience.

My pack will never agree with me that I'm like them. As long as I can't shift, I'm an outcast, an abomination, an alien before them.

No one cares about me.

I'm all alone to face the guilt of ever being born into this world, filled with nothing but loneliness.

.

I was able to avoid the pack's constant bullying by hiding away like always from their gaze. But I didn't want to stay hidden forever.

"Tonight is the pack's mating ceremony. The full moon will be out and every young wolf will be United with their mate," I said, feeling joy engulfing me.

This is the only way out of my misery. I need to be present so I can be united with my mate.

"Oh goddess, please hear my voice," I sighed, feeling nervous.

Leaving my hiding spot, I managed to head back to my home, where I lived all by myself, waiting patiently for the hour to arrive.

When the sky came all dark and the moon was out fully, I got dressed and made my way out to join everyone at the Alpha's garden.

I had my shawl all over my head, so no one would recognize me. I managed to blend in with the crowds, as they all waited for the full moon to glow down, showing it's indication that it was time.

Every year, after I clocked eighteen, I've been hoping to be united with my mate. But there were no signs from the heavens.

"Goddess, please answer me today," I begged, waiting.

Just as we were all expecting, the full moon came glowing down on us, slowly connecting one wolf to another.

I watched as most of the young wolves found their mates, both shifting into their form to bond with the other.

This made me feel so helpless, as I carefully walked past the others, hoping I could feel something.

"How will I know my... Oh!" I accidentally bumped into someone, sending my shawl off my head.

I looked in fear, wondering if I'd been spotted by someone. But I'm left stunned by who I saw standing before me.

"Alpha Tristan ," I uttered.

The young handsome Alpha was the one I accidentally bumped into.

His eyes stared at me, as I gazed back in fear, thinking he was going to call his guards on me.

But I was left astonished when he said, "My mate."

"What?" My eyes came large.

He gave a smile, taking hold of my hands. When he did this, I felt a shimmer in my heart for him.

Is this the feeling?

Is he my mate?

I felt joy taking over my heart, watching how Alpha Tristan gazed at me lovingly. His eyes trailing my body with intense desire in his heart.

"You're beautiful," He commented, caressing my face with his hand.

He wants me.

The goddess has finally heard my prayers. I closed my eyes to see how he cupped my face, drawing nearer to me.

Bug he suddenly stopped.

I opened my eyes to find his golden eyes shimmering at me. He no longer had that sweet smile but... Anger?

"You're wolfless?" He questioned, stepping away from me.

I felt my body shiver at his action, followed by the eyes of the pack falling on Tristan and me.

Goddess, please, what is going on?

I looked at Tristan . His eyes still read desires for me, but his pride wouldn't let him accept it.

Before all, he yelled, "I reject you!"

A sudden pain came in me, almost sending me down on my knees.

Was that the bond breaking?

Laughter came in and I couldn't help but cry.

"A wolfless Omega like yourself doesn't deserve to be my Luna. You are worthless," Tristan cursed, embarrassing me before all.

This crushed my heart deeply.

I thought he loved me.
