One Night of Sin: An Omega's Conundrum

Asona's POV

"It's my birthday, and I do not want to meet anyone. I'm also not cancelling any plans I made"

I screamed, hitting my fist on the desk in front of me, anger coursing through me.

"I said no."

Jako bellowed, his eyes flashed Amber, the eye colour of his wolf.

"It's high time you stopped fooling around and settled down with a mate."

His wolf was just at the surface. I wasn't deterred by that.

"I'm fine as I am"

"As an Omega?"

His eyes softened, and his tone lowered.

"You know you could improve your status by mating with someone with a good rank. And that's what I'm trying to do for you"

"As your father, I only want what's good for you"

"What's good for me?"

My eyes stung from the unshed tears as I reflected on the hypocritical words he had just spurn from his mouth

"Yet you deranked me to Omega. Just because I do not have a wolf, even though I am of Alpha blood?"

An angry tear escaped despite my efforts to hold it in.

"It wasn't just my decision, baby. I could not go against the pack. I didn't make the rules."

He moved towards me, his face a mask of guilt.

"Don't touch me"

A strangled shriek that I didn't recognise escaped my throat.

"You chose your pack over me. So go lead your pack. As for my life, you have no say in it. I'll never falter in my duties, Alpha."

I gave a mocking bow

"Now if my Alpha excuses me, I have done all my duties for the day, and I have a place to go"

Without waiting for my father to respond, I turned on my heels and raced towards the door.

I didn't spare him as much as a glance before storming out of the house, the loud thud of the door echoing through the woods.

"Are you okay?"

My friend at the driver's wheel asked with a pitiful glance as I slipped into the passenger seat.

"Yeah, are you?"

The redhead at the back seat chipped in

"I'm fine"

I said, turning to look at the window.

Townsy glanced at me through the corner of her eyes from time to time while majorly keeping her focus on the road.

"We'll be trying another club tonight. If it's okay with you, Sonny"

She finally spoke, breaking the heavy silence in the car

"Where do you have in mind?"

My voice came off as uninterested.

"You'll see"

She grinned widely

"Okay"

I gave a nonchalant shrug of my shoulders.

I could trust Townsy with anything.

"Thank you Tee"

I gave her a grateful squeeze of the hand.

"It's nothing Sonny"

She flashed me the most beautiful smile.

Shaya hummed a rhythmless song behind us. That was her own way of reminding us that she was still with us.

"Shaya honey. I'm grateful you came through for me"

I gave her my best smile.

"It's fine Asona" She returned my smile, her not so regular dentition surfacing.

One day, I would convince her to use braces, definitely not today, though.

We arrived a few minutes later at what looked like a million dollar complex.

"Is this it?"

I genuflected towards the obvious building in front of us, awed by its grandeur.

"This doesn't look like a club Tee"

"Yes this is it. Too large?"

Townsy's face lit up as she turned off the engine, and we all headed out of the car.

"Yeah" Shaya answered, looking as confused as I was.

Townsy let out a snorty laugh.

"Okay okay. There is no need to panic girls. It's not just a club. It's mainly a building where wolf council meetings are held. They just have other parts of it for entertainment purposes like the club, the pool, and suites for those who want to sleep over."

She looked like an enthusiastic reporter on her first ad job

"Oh! trust the latest Luna to know"

I said dryly

"Oh Sonny, you don't have be such an ass"

She gave me a playful slap on the shoulder.

"Can we go in now?"

Shaya asked, looking bored.

Townsy led the way, followed by Shaya and I.

The door opened to a large waiting area. Townsy said a quick hello to the receptionist before taking us down a seemingly unending hallway having various rooms with tags that I didn't bother to look at.

"Hey guys"

Townsy smiled at two hideous, mountain-like bouncers standing at an open door. We had obviously arrived at our destination.

"Welcome Tee. I see you brought friends"

The one with a chipped tooth gave me what was meant to be a flirtatious grin but ended up looking like a gorilla smirk.

I shot him a glare as he winked at me.

The unpleasant smell of alcohol, mixed with sweat, smoke, and varying wolf scents, filled my nostrils.

The strobe light hindered me from making out the faces in the room. Not that I was interested in any of the faces, though.

At the bar, a skimpily clad waitress, wearing a button-down shirt that struggled to cover her enormous tits, asked for my order.

"I will start with Tequila"

"We'll take whatever she's having"

Townsy spoke for herself and an awkward looking Shaya. Shaya seemed to be in a "not so good" mood

"Are you okay?" I asked just as I received the gold coloured drink in a transparent glass from the waitress.

"Why not?" She responded with a smile that didn't reach her eyes

I shrugged as I took a sip of the bitter sweet content in my glass.

"Hey babe" a familiar masculine voice called out somewhere behind me

Shaya's eyes instantly lit up

"What are you doing here?. You haven't been taking my calls"

"I've been worried sick about you. How did you know I was here?"

Cub, Shaya's boyfriend smiled as she rummaged him with questions

"I'm sorry, babe,I lost my phone and let's say I got a friendly tip that I'd find you here"

He gave Townsy a "thank you" wink.

They excused themselves and went to the dance floor.

Left with Townsy, we chatted a little about her life as a Luna outside the pack she grew up in.

Suddenly, a small crowd gathered around two people in the middle of the dance floor. They were shouting and taking pictures and videos.

Cub was down on one knee, asking Townsy to be his mate. Shaya squealed in delight as she accepted.

Cub was not her fated mate, but they were happy together. I felt a sudden pang in my chest.

Townsy was already giving her a bear hug.

"Congrats babe" I said with a half assed smile and a side hug.

The emptiness I felt whenever I thought about Trey came back. Triggered by Cub's proposal to Shaya. I dragged myself back to the bar, watching Shaya and Cub dance. I downed my second glass of tequila. I could already feel its effect. I needed to drown out the unfamiliar emotion.

Townsy excused herself.

"I'm sorry Sonny. Duty calls and all. I will be back in an hour."

An hour later, I was still alone on the barstool. The club seemed to have emptied out, with only a few of us left. Shaya and Cub were no longer in sight

That was when I felt it. A pair of eyes on me from someone at the darkest end of the room.
