Sandra went to the bar to drink after catching her boyfriend with another woman. She got drunk and started feeling tipsy. she ended up having a one night stand with a stranger. When she woke up the next morning, he was gone and all she could remember was the man's name - Simeon. Few months later, she gave birth to a child and accepted her role as a single mother. She managed to find a job as an accountant at a company, only to discover that the CEO was the man she had a one night stand with. She found herself in a very complex situation of whether he would recognize her or not, whether to tell him that he's the father of her son, Or whether to forget about everything to secure her job.
Chapter 1 Two lost
Sandra was busy attending to her son, David, when her phone rang. She rushed to grab it from where she had left it. Seeing that the caller's number was unknown, she hesitated for a moment before she answered the call."Hello?" she said hesitantly."Congratulations! Sandra Smith, you passed the interview, you can check your mail to see the details" The CEO's personal assistant said and hung up the call. Sandra's heart skipped a beat at the news. She had been waiting anxiously to hear back about the job interview she had last week.
Now, not only had she landed the job, but she also received a call from the CEO's personal assistant herself. She quickly put down the phone and hugged her son, David, feeling a sense of hope and relief wash over her.She checked her mail and she saw that she was to resume the next Monday. The next Monday, she started work as an accountant. "Welcome to JF ROWLANDS company, one of the top companies in the country" Gabriel, The CEO's personal assistant said. "Thank you very much, I am glad to work here and I promised to put in my effort" She said. "I look forward to that, and that reminds me the CEO traveled, so by next week he would be here, and I am sure he would like you" Gabriel responded. "I hope so too" she said joyfully as Gabriel left. Sandra settled down in her office and continued to work enthusiastically for it was her first job, so she put in her best to the job, to avoid being sacked. Days after days, she arrived early, stayed late, and tackled every task with enthusiasm and precision. She made sure the accounting department of the company goes smoothly. That really impressed Gabriel and he always remark her as the best accountant they have ever hired. "Sandra, your work has been phenomenal" Gabriel said giving her a warm smile. "The CEO will be very pleased to see how much you've accomplished in such a short time" he added. Sandra felt a wave of pride at his words. "Thank you, Gabriel. I just want to do my best for the company". she said as she was busy sorting the paperworks before her. Weeks after Sandra has been working hard in her new company and doing an impressive work, Gabriel came knocking on her office door. "Come in" Sandra said lifting her head up. "How are you doing, Miss Sandra?" Gabriel asked. "I am fine, what about you?" she dialogued. "Fine as well, how's work going?" Gabriel asked with a deep sense of humor "Obviously fine" she replied. "Anyways I want to tell you that the CEO is around and he would like to see you in his office" he said. "Oh! Good, how should I address him?" Sandra asked. "Mr. Damien Simeon" Gabriel replied witha smile on his face. "What!!!" She exclaimed. She thought about the name. It sounded familiar to her like the name of the guy she once had a one night stand with. Sandra's heart dropped. The name echoed in her mind like a distant memory, but she couldn't deny the connection. She took a moment to compose herself before responding."Thank you Gabriel, I'll go there now" Sandra said and they both left the office. As she walk towards his office, her heart was pounding heavily As Sandra approached the CEO's office, her palms began to sweat. The anticipation was overwhelming. She reminded herself that she was here as an accountant, not as someone from his past. But try as she might, she couldn't shake the feeling of dread in her stomach. She knocked the door and she heard a deep voice; "Come in" Sandra bravely went in. "Good Day Sir, I am Sandra Smith, the accountant of this prestigious company". "Alright, I am Damien Simeon" He paused and continued, "I have heard a lot about you from my P.A, and I am glad to hear that. I hope to confirm what I have heard from him" said Damien. "Thank you, Mr.Simeon, for the opportunity, I am honor to work here and I also look forward to contributing to the success of the company". she replied. "That's great, you are welcome here, feel free to showcase ideas you think would help and bring success to the company growth" Damien persuaded her. "Yes, thank you very much" She said and left. "This is the guy I had a one night stand with, huh? He's the one, I am sure" She said while walking to her office. Back in her office, Sandra couldn't help but replay the encounter with Simeon over and over in her mind. Was it just a coincidence that the man she had a one night stand with years ago was now her boss? Or was there something more at play?Or should I let him know that we have met before? Probably he could recognize me in one way or the other Instead of keeping it away from him?, But if I should let him know, what if he reacts somehow? Like he might think I am lying that I just want him to father a child he doesn't give birth to?". Sandra bit her lips as many questions keep roaming in her head. "I don't even know if to tell him or keep it as a secret, he looks nice and he doesn't seem like someone who would bite" she conclude. "I can't let this distract me," she told herself, turning her attention back to the work on her desk. Sandra was inside her office, when she heard a knock on her door. "Come in" She said, lifting her head up from the system. "Good Morning, Mr. Simeon" She stood up to welcome him with a smile. "Good Morning, you can have your seat" Damien replied. He moved closer to her, and sat opposite her. "Thank you" She replied as she sits. "Before working here, did you have any experience? Like, have you worked somewhere and for how many years?" Damien asked "No, I haven't worked anywhere, in fact this is my first work, but I studied accounting in school, and Mr. Gabriel showed me somethings and guided me on my first day" she answered. "Whoa! You learn so fast and you know too much, I am kind of surprised, well, I shouldn't be because my P.A had told me before I came here" he commended her. "Ooh! That's a compliment I appreciate it" she said rubbing her hands together. "Well, Miss Sandra, your face looks familiar" he said keeping an eye contact with her. "i couldn't figure out where i met the face yet but i wish could" he said as he was leaving her office.
