Chapter 1 fearless heart

I hear Bia's high-pitched voice in the hallway, I realize she's approaching my room, I feel anger burn in my heart, as I remember all the torments she and her daughters put me through, I can't stand her.

She opens the door and gives me an angry look as she measures my entire body and says:

"Is this the outfit Ava chose? I am sure that I ordered to put on the best and not the worst."

I shrug and turn away, ignoring what she says, with the intention of making her furious, I notice that she mumbles something to my stepfather Lucas, who soon decides to intervene.

"Ava" he calls me in a sad voice "Don't treat your stepmother like that, she just wants to help us.

I turn around and find Lucas's depressed look, he is a good man, he took care of me as if I were his daughter, he loved my mother with all his heart, it's not his fault that she died and married such a cruel and cruel woman. bitter.

I keep my gaze firmly on him, swallowing him with my big blue eyes, leaving him embarrassed, while Bia turns her eyes, snubbing the impact that my presence has on Lucas.

"There's only half an hour" she says angrily realizing that her presence wasn't necessary "Be firm with her, we can't be late, this girl is very bold".

I see Bia walking away, and I take a deep breath, relaxing my gaze a little, noticing the tears that form in Lucas's brown eyes, as he shrinks his arms, showing with his body the sadness he feels.

"You don't have to be like this" I say trying to console him, while I put my hand on his shoulder, "We don't know if Lord Robert will choose me as his concubine, maybe it's not his style" I smile trying to show how thin and strange I am, with two eyes so big they don't seem to fit in the face.

He contains his tears as he looks at the black dress, used for days of mourning, checking if it could be chosen by Lord Robert and starts crying again. Maybe he sees a beauty in me that I don't know, or he's just sorry for the miserable life I'll lead if I'm not chosen.

"I'm sorry, dear," Lucas says, his voice breaking from crying, "we don't have any more time, we have to go."

I take a deep breath, as Lucas turns and goes out into the hallway, I take a look around, my room was all I had, and in my mind I say goodbye, hoping to return.

I walk, being careful not to trip over the huge black dress and fall on my face. I look to the side and find Bia's daughters happy with my departure. Ah, when I look at them I wish I would never go back, they are unbearable people who strive to make my life worse.

I ignore their mocking looks and leave accompanied by their mother and Lucas, I get into the car, I smell the sickening smell of leather, and I go back to thinking about the plan, which I have been formulating in my mind for over a week, forgetting the memory of Lucas crying.

Life for women is not easy without a man around, be it father, brother or husband. Lucas was a good man, but he didn't have the authority to free me from the mistreatment of Bia and her daughters.

I spent the week waiting for the opportunity to get rid of Bia's gaze and run away, in search of my destiny, because I don't believe things could be worse than they are.

I escape from my thoughts when I notice that the car was entering Lord Robert's property, "wow" I sigh as my heart accelerates, and I glue my eyes to the window, to contemplate the beauty of the gardens and fountains that were on the way to the entrance of the mansion .

"I didn't tell you" Bia says to Lucas, trying to convince him that it was better to sell me "She's liking the place".

I look at her quickly, Lucas remains silent, neither of them paying attention to my gaze, so I quickly return to the window, plotting an escape route, or looking for a hiding place, if necessary, knowing the territory.

I take a deep breath when the car stops in front of the huge mansion, the place is full and I can see women of all shapes, some seemed to be there of their own accord.

Which gives me hope of a rejection, they are so beautiful, I realize that not all of them are wolves, but I don't mind the fetish of the dreaded Lord Robert, as long as I am not included in them, I try to fight against prejudice, since mom was a formidable wolf, who found love alongside Lucas, a human.

I entered, curious about the mass of people who arrived, the men were taken to a large hall, while the women were taken to the rooms.

I aim to pay attention to the exits, looking for the first opportunity to escape, but I always find myself distracted, observing the beauty and clothes of the women present, feeling embarrassed, some were not poor, others were there because they wanted the future at their side. from the lord.

I grimace to myself, I don't accept women offering themselves to be a man's sex slaves.

I am pulled by the arm by Bia, who at that moment had realized that she had no chance of being chosen and had a disappointed and furious look on her face. She drags me into a room and I look into her eyes, savoring her temporary defeat.

I know I should focus on running away, but I stop in front of a huge painting, a wonderful painting, observing its beautiful details, while I dare Bia to murmur something and head towards a huge wooden rack, with the intention of choosing something better than the dress. mourning I use.

"Ready for him?" asks a beautiful woman, standing next to me, signaling with her hand that she needed help opening her dress.

"Is this Lord?" I respond with another question, wondering how old it must have been when it was painted, as I undo the tight knot on my dress. Realizing he was a man with a cold and frightening look, but handsome.

"Thank you" she opens a smile that lights up everyone in the room, where I can pay more attention to her beauty, her perfectly round face, with small green eyes, a high nose and small, pink lips indicated that it had been sculpted by hand. I run my eyes over her body and notice that her large breasts want to jump out of the corset, which narrows her waist and ends in high, full hips, with medium legs, but in proportion to her body "Yes" she responds, turning to the painting "it doesn't even look like that has a soul."
