Chapter 1 Breaking Free

"What's going on with you lately, my Alpha? You haven't touched your food and it'll get cold. I haven't seen you in this mood in a long time. I can't Imagine you starving yourself to bed last night. Is that your new routine? You haven't eaten anything since the last time the moon guardian visited. Is there something you're not telling me?" Raymond questioned his Alpha with keen interest.

"Food doesn't matter to me at this point. I'll be fine without food. I don't consider it important anymore. Why should I eat when my heart is troubled, huh? No, you tell me. I'm sure you saw what happened a while ago. Perhaps I should remind you. I've been condemned to death for a curse I know nothing about. Don't you get it? My future lies in the hands of a teenage girl. "Where did the moon goddess expect me to find her?" He hit out at his BETA, Raymond.

The evening went by quickly, and Donaldson is still agitated and unsure of how to handle his predicament.

His appetite has vanished ever since the moon guardian revealed the hidden. With everything going wrong in his life, he did not quite think food was necessary.

"I understand your current state of mind. I know for sure, though, that it is not hard to find a teenage girl. No one could turn down the chance to become a member of the Royal family given your status as this pack's Alpha," Raymond once more expressed optimism.

"Huh! There you go again.

You seem so confident about this issue. I do not know anything about this stuff, so how am I going to work out? I have thought of something. Tomorrow, I want you to find me a teenage girl to have a son with. I really have to get this fixed. I am out of time right now. You do not want to lose your Alpha to an unexpected demise, am I right?

"Obviously not. There are still plenty of years in front of you. Death ain't for nothing on you. You'll reign forever," Raymond assured.

"Exactly what I wanted to hear. I don't want to die anytime soon. if you don't want that to happen, you'd go out there and find me a teenage girl." he ordered Raymond and dismissed him.

"Yes, my Alpha. May your wish be granted as I embark on the quest of finding you the chosen one to liberate you and break the death curse." he bowed to show his respect and vacated Donaldson's chambers after bowing to receive the Alpha's blessings.

A new day has emerged. The day Donald has been yearning for. For every minute that goes by, his heart melts in pain, and seeks a solution to his problem. He's quite aware of how difficult it is to find a teenage girl who would accept his demand, but somehow he still believes the moon goddess won't watch and do nothing while he suffers condemnation.

. "It's morning already. I need to prepare for the task ahead." Raymond tossed off the bed and prepared himself for the difficult tasks that awaited him. The longevity of the Alpha now rests on his shoulder. If he fails to return home without positive feedback, he might as well start preparing for the Alpha's funeral. After getting dressed, he stepped outside to knock on Donald's door.

"Proceed with your message immediately. You already know the situation on the ground. I don't have the luxury of time and patience. You need to come back home with the teenager to give me a son and break this god-damned death curse," Donaldson rudely said, without granting Leonardo permission to speak. What Ray has to say doesn't matter to the Alpha. He just wants positive feedback.

"I know right? I just came to tell you before I depart. I'm ready for the adventure ahead. Hopefully, I'll be back with positive feedback." Raymond disclosed.

"Go well, Ray! Blessings and favor shall you find in the sight of Selene, the moon goddess,"

It's quite challenging to find a teenage girl who would be willing to accept the Alpha's outrageous offer. In the same pack where teenage girls are subjected to moral vices while they're under their parents' guidance.

Raymond was quite aware of this ridiculous fact, yet he agreed to risk it all for this dreadful mission. He wasn't going to sit back and watch his Alpha suffer for what he knows nothing about.

It was 10: 30 a.m. yet everywhere was deserted with no traders, hunters, or passersby found on the street. It's so unlike the New Moon Pack. It is not exactly a scene of perfect decorum or empty on a morning such as this one. It is as if every parent locked their daughters on purpose to add to the already daunting difficulty of Raymond's task.

Locating the teenage girl proved to be a challenge. He gestured to several houses and offered the Alpha's enticing proposition. He could not, however, locate a family with whom to bargain. For the cruelest of Alphas, no family was willing to let their daughter have a son. Not everyone was aware of the curse, yet they refused the life-changing opportunity of becoming the Alpha's Luna. Imagine what could have happened if they knew the Genesis of the search for a teenage girl.

"I didn't bargain for this. It has been difficult for me. I never for once imagined it would turn out this way. What will I do now? I gave the Alpha my word. I can't return to the pack with negativity. No, it's never gonna happen. Something needs to be done. I must salvage the situation." Raymond soliloquizes beneath in the woods. He has lost all hope of finding a teenage girl. The night is spreading so fast as wildfire as darkness encloses the atmosphere. He got engrossed and dozed off. Suddenly, he woke up after hearing some strange footsteps around him. He stood from the ground, sniffed the atmosphere pointing his sword at an invisible creature. "Who the heck are you? Why are you hiding like a coward? Reveal yourself and wrestle with me to a fight if you're so courageous. And I'd slit your throat with my sword while I watch you slowly bleed to death.

" Please save your drama, BETA, Leo of Alpha Donaldson. You might need the energy later but certainly not now. I'm not here to fight you. I just want to talk. You might just need my help. So take it slow." A masculine voice spoke and strolled behind him.

"What makes you think I want to talk to you? I don't even know you. There's absolutely nothing to talk about. I don't even know you. Who are you, and how did you find me? Speak now before I feed your remains to the vultures." Ray threatened with full rage and bloodstained eyes.

"Stop stressing about my identity, it's not worth it now.

I do understand your rage. If I were asked to find Alpha, a teenage girl, I'd be more furious than you. If you keep acting this way, you might go back to the Alpha without positive news. You shouldn't be a stranger to the Alpha's rage," the stranger added and kept Raymond in suspense. He can't seem to imagine how the mystery person found out about it.

"This is quite unbelievable. Am I hallucinating? How did you?..." Raymond took a deep breath and widened his mouth in astonishment.

"Don't give me that look on your face. Are you surprised how I found out? I'll tell you. Oh, yes, you did disclose it. Let's just say I had my ears on the ground when you stopped in the neighborhood today, asking parents if they could allow their daughters to marry the Alpha and bear him a son," And I bet the Alpha will be inclined to risk a fortune to find this beautiful teenage girl, right!" The young man laughed mischievously and made a travesty of Ray.

"You won't dare do that. You don't even know what it is capable of.

Have you suddenly lost respect for the Alpha? The Alpha won't pay a dime to have her. She should be giving it out for free. I mean, It's every girl's dream to become the Alpha's Luna, and you know that," Ray bragged.

"So sweet of you to think I would give her out for free. Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not ready to trade for free. I'm here to get the cash. I can see you're not ready to do business with me. Good luck finding another teenage girl. I'm sure the Alpha will be waiting for you right now." He turned to walk away, but Ray called him back.

"I was confident I could do business with you." With $10k I'll personally bring my beautiful stepdaughter to the Alpha's quarters first thing tomorrow."

"How cruel can you be? Do you want to sell off someone's daughter to the alpha? You must be ashamed of yourself," Ray sparked outrageously and cursed the strange man.

"Easy with the pressure. She's equally my daughter, technically.

Don't worry, I got that covered. She trusts me so much. She won't suspect a thing. By the way, my name's Jones. It was nice doing business with you,"

"If you keep the Alpha waiting by tomorrow morning, I'll find you, and I'll kill you. It's a promise that I must fulfill. Alpha Donaldson shouldn't be messed around with." Raymond threatened and accepted the crazy offer.

"Don't worry about that.

I always keep to time," Jones assured.
