Kill This Love Jennie Kim, a ruthless billionaire mafia queen, has always believed that love is a weakness. She rules her empire with an iron fist, trusting no one, and fearing nothing-except betrayal. Her life is built on control, loyalty, and power. The only thing standing in her way is her new bodyguard, Jisoo. Assigned to Jennie after a near-fatal attack, Jisoo is everything Jennie despises: defiant, emotionless, and unshakably calm in the face of Jennie's fury. Their relationship is a battle of wills, filled with cold stares, sharp words, and a deep hatred neither can shake. Jennie is determined to break Jisoo, while Jisoo is committed to doing her job and nothing more. But as danger closes in and they are forced to rely on one another, the line between hate and desire begins to blur. What started as an unrelenting clash of personalities turns into something neither of them expected: a bond forged in fire and mistrust. As Jennie and Jisoo navigate the treacherous waters of love and loyalty in a world where betrayal lurks around every corner, they must confront their growing feelings-and decide if they're willing to risk everything for love. This sets the stage for the hate-to-love dynamic and captures the tension and intrigue of their relationship.

Chapter 1 The assignment

Jisoo stood outside the towering glass building, her gaze sweeping over the people rushing in and out of its doors. She tightened her grip on the strap of her bag, feeling the weight of the moment pressing down on her. This wasn't just another job. This was the job. After months of searching, she had finally landed an assignment that would use every skill she'd trained for.

Her background as a security specialist made her one of the best in her field. Military training, hand-to-hand combat, and a calm demeanor under pressure had built her reputation, and it wasn't long before word reached the underground world of high-profile clients. Today, that reputation had brought her to the heart of Seoul's most dangerous empire.

With one deep breath, Jisoo stepped into the building. The air inside was colder, quieter, and reeked of power. Every glance from the staff felt calculating, as if they knew the weight of the decision she had made by walking through those doors. But she wasn't here to impress anyone. She was here to work.

After a brief exchange with the receptionist, she was escorted through a maze of hallways until she stood outside an office larger than her entire apartment. The door swung open, and Jisoo stepped into the presence of Jennie Kim.

Jennie sat behind a sleek, modern desk, her eyes dark and unreadable. The woman was the picture of control, her expression betraying none of the power she held over the criminal underworld. Jennie didn't look up from the papers she was reviewing, and for a moment, Jisoo wondered if she had made a mistake accepting the job.

"You're the specialist?" Jennie's voice cut through the silence, cold and sharp.

"Yes." Jisoo kept her tone steady, standing firm under Jennie's scrutinizing gaze.

Jennie finally looked up, her eyes locking onto Jisoo's. There was no friendliness, no warmth-only cold calculation. "Your background checks out. You'll start immediately."

Just like that, no formalities, no interviews. Jisoo had heard rumors of Jennie's efficiency, but seeing it firsthand was something else entirely. Most clients took their time vetting potential bodyguards, but Jennie didn't waste time. She wanted someone who could protect her without hesitation, and Jisoo was that person.

"I don't tolerate mistakes," Jennie added, her eyes narrowing. "If you fail, you're done."

Jisoo didn't flinch. She had faced worse. "I won't."

Jennie leaned back in her chair, studying her with a faint smirk that hinted at something more. "We'll see about that."

The tension in the room was thick, and Jisoo could feel the battle lines being drawn. This wasn't just about protection-it was about control. From the very beginning, she knew that working for Jennie Kim would be dangerous, but it wasn't just the external threats that concerned her. It was the woman in front of her, and the way her presence seemed to challenge every part of who Jisoo was.

Jennie stood up, walking slowly around the desk until she was face-to-face with Jisoo. "Let me be clear, I don't trust you. I don't trust anyone."

Jisoo met her gaze head-on, refusing to be intimidated. "I'm not here for your trust. I'm here to do my job."

For a split second, Jennie's smirk faded, replaced by something unreadable. Then, she turned her back to Jisoo and walked towards the window. "Your first assignment starts now. Get ready."

Jisoo nodded once, her heart steady even as her mind raced. She had no idea what she was getting into, but she knew one thing for certain: working for Jennie Kim was going to be the most dangerous job of her life.
