Author's POV
"Silly girl" Hernier yelled as she pushed Mila out of the kitchen, slapping her twice, "you are so useless, you should be grateful I still let you stay in this house"
Mila held onto the sides of the door as she picked herself up, trembling, pain courses through her whole body, but she was used to it, the pain gives her reasons to be alive, on numerous occasions has she tried to end her life, but it was all futile, she couldn't die and didn't want to live anymore.
"Lower your gaze.. bitch, how dare you look in me in the eyes", Hernier shouted as she reached for Mila throwing more punches
Mila lowered her gaze as she endured all of Henier's beating without making a sound, she fixed her eyes on the floor, while Henier kept on beating her, she could feel her consciousness slipping away slowly, and then she fainted.
"Griven..."Henier yelled, as Griven appeared in the kitchen, where Hernier was, "Get her to her room and make sure she is awake before the tiger's time to prepare dinner" Henier stated as she kicked Mila who was unconscious and walked out of the Kitchen.
Griven picked Mila up from the floor and proceeds to carry her back to her room, on his way he was met with Jeanne,
"What is wrong with this weakling again"? She asked blocking Griven's path,
"My lady, Mila has fainted,I need to take her back to her room to administer treatments" Griven replied
"Is that so..but there's is nothing a glass of Cold water cannot fix" she said calmly as we walked back to the table raising a glass of water, as she raises the glass to pour the water on Mila, her hand freezes on air,
"Griven take Mila to her room and let me know if she needs anything", Jude Jillian said as he walked down the stairs approaching his Sister, and where Griven stood,
"Yes Master" Griven said as he turns around to take Mila back to her room,
Leaving the brother and sister duo to themselves,
"Why did you do that"? Jeanne yelled as Jude released her hands as she throws the glass towards him,
"My my sister, seems the loss of your sweet husband has driven you to the brink of insanity, Since you became widowed there's hardly any peace left in this house, and leave Mila alone it's not her fault that she is incredibly beautiful" Jude replied calmly as he chuckled while taking a seat,
"You are always on her side, never on my side" Jeanne yelled as she threw everything on the table fuming in anger,
"What can I say sister? It's not Mila's fault that your husband is dead, neither is it our fault, give her some break, direct your anger towards something else you know the annual celebration is coming up, you can attract a suitable Lord or someone worthy of you, Jude stated as he leaves the room leaving Jeanne to her thoughts.
Griven lays Mila on the bed as she checks her pulse, holding her hands he whispers a spell, this went on for a while as Mila's body system was already weak conjoined with the beatings, Mila's pulse remained low,
Griven decided to go out and get some herbs because his spells weren't working on Mila anymore.
Few hours later he returned back to Mila's room and he noticed she was already awake, although very weak bit she had regained consciousness,
"Mila dear...sit up and have this brew, it will help your injuries and the pains you feel, Griven said as he helped Mila to sit up,
Mila took the brew and drank it all at once, "howw.. manyy..ho..urs to tiger's time"? She asked weakly,
"Less than an hour but you wouldn't be able to make it Mila, I suggest you rest and I will handle it, remain in your room" Griven said as he takes the bowl away from her hands,
"But...what...about Madam...she specifically wanted lamb broth for dinner tonight and you can't handle the sight of meat Griven just let me do it, Mila protested again,
"Shh...girl I will handle it, get some rest and no matter what do not come upstairs, I will bring in some food after dinner, Griven replied as he takes the bowl from Mila,
" Thank you so much Griven, I don't know what I will do without you", Mila
said as she lays back while Griven tucks her in.
Griven smiles at her and leaves the room leaving Mila all alone
Mila stared into the darkness as she thought of her bad her life has become, she vaguely remember the death of her parents and why her uncle offered to take her in, Ten years of staying in the Jillian's household yet they had never accepted her,the only way to escape this is to find her mate, but without any freedom that seemed almost impossible.
Things has gone awry for her uncle's business so he had to lay off some workers although he kept Sera the Housekeeper, she was the oldest worker the Jillian's household had ever had. She had a very close relationship with Mila and has always looked after her, then her niece came along, Nina and they bonded pretty well.
This made Henier really angry as Mila became happier with Nina she then convinced her husband to Sera and her niece away.
Thus, all the house chores were up to Mila to handle, until Griven came along.
Mila slept off while waiting for Griven to bring some food for her as he promised.
Meanwhile, Griven was facing an angry Henier as dinner was served, Griven had prepared basic meals and this made Henier and her daughter really angry.
"What condition is Mila in that she wasn't able to cook dinner tonight Griven"? Henier asked fuming in anger.
" Her condition is critical Madam, she..." but Jeanne didn't wait for Griven to finish off his statement.
"Even if she is dying she would have still prepared the food" she retorted.
"Forgive me Madame", Griven said as he bowed his head.
Hernier and Jeanne hissed and left the dining room without touching any of the food that was prepared.
