My CEO Anton Brown proposes that we get married for six months to clean up his playboy reputation and save his company. I agree, thinking it's just a game. But from the moment he kisses me in our fake marriage, I know my innocence won't last long. Rule number one? Some lines are meant to be crossed, no matter the consequences.

Chapter 1 First day

Lana's Point of View

Arriving at my new job at Brown Enterprises was a mix of anxiety and excitement. I was nervous but determined to do my best. I walked up to the impressive building, with its glass walls reflecting the city around it. Upon entering the lobby, I was struck by the luxury and modernity of the place. It was a world completely different from what I was used to.

I was directed to the reception desk, where a friendly receptionist gave me a temporary badge and instructed me to go to the 15th floor, where the marketing department was located. The elevator seemed to move slowly, giving me time to take a deep breath and mentally prepare for what was to come.

When I exited the elevator, I was greeted by Laura, my supervisor. She had a stern and professional air but greeted me with a cordial smile. "Welcome to Brown Enterprises, Lana. I'll show you where you'll be working."

I followed Laura down the hallway, trying to absorb every detail of the environment around me. The walls were decorated with modern paintings, and the rooms were glass-walled, allowing a clear view of what was happening in each sector. It seemed that everyone was always busy, moving with purpose and determination.

"This is your desk," Laura said, pointing to an organized workstation equipped with a state-of-the-art computer. "You'll start by helping with some administrative tasks. If you need anything, I'm in the next room."

I thanked her and began to settle in, trying to familiarize myself with the new space. My first task was to organize some files and prepare reports. I dived into the work, wanting to make a good impression from day one.

A few hours later, Laura entered the room with a serious expression. "Lana, I need you to take these documents to the meeting room on the 20th floor. They need to be reviewed by Mr. Brown personally."

My heart skipped a beat. Anton Brown? The CEO? I knew it was unlikely to meet him on my first day, but the possibility made me nervous. I grabbed the documents and entered the elevator, trying to control my breathing. Anton Brown was known for his impressive appearance and unparalleled charisma. He was tall, with perfectly styled dark hair and piercing blue eyes. The combination of his magnetic presence and natural authority made everyone around him admire and respect him.

When I arrived on the 20th floor, the environment seemed even more sophisticated. People moved with an aura of importance, and the atmosphere was charged with efficiency. I walked to the meeting room and knocked lightly before entering.

"Come in," a deep, authoritative voice responded.

I opened the door and found myself face-to-face with Anton Brown, seated at the head of the table. He was engrossed in a discussion with other executives, but his eyes turned to me as soon as I entered. My heart raced. He was even more impressive in person than in the photos. Tall, with a magnetic presence and piercing blue eyes, he exuded power and confidence.

"Excuse me," I murmured, trying to keep my composure. "Laura asked me to deliver these documents."

He nodded, his eyes still fixed on me as I approached to place the papers on the table. "Thank you, Lana," he said, surprising me by knowing my name.

"You're welcome, Mr. Brown," I responded, trying to hide my nervousness.

"Anton," he corrected, with a smile that made my heart leap. "Welcome to Brown Enterprises. I hope you're settling in well."

"Yes, I am," I managed to say, feeling my cheeks flush.

He nodded again, turning his attention back to the documents. I left the room quickly, feeling a bit dizzy from the experience. I returned to my desk, trying to focus on my work, but Anton's image kept occupying my thoughts.

When I returned to my desk, I found an email from Laura with more tasks. Most involved organizing data and creating presentations. I decided to dedicate myself wholeheartedly, wanting to demonstrate my efficiency and competence.

During lunch, I sat in the small kitchen of the marketing department, where some colleagues were gathered. I took the opportunity to meet some people. Megan, one of the marketing assistants, was the first to approach.

"Hi, you must be the new intern. I'm Megan," she said with a welcoming smile. "How's your first day going?"

"Hi, Megan. Yes, I'm Lana. It's been pretty intense, but I'm enjoying it so far," I replied, feeling more at ease with her friendliness.

"It's always like that in the beginning, but you'll get used to it. And don't worry, Laura seems tough, but deep down, she's a good person," she winked, making me laugh.

The conversation during lunch was light and pleasant, helping me relax a bit. I met other colleagues and realized that, despite the pressure, everyone was quite welcoming. It was a relief to know that I had friendly people around me.

Back at my desk, I continued working on the reports. Time seemed to fly, and before I knew it, it was almost the end of the workday. Laura appeared again, this time with a more relaxed expression.

"Lana, I need you to do one last thing before you leave. Can you deliver these documents to Mr. Brown's office? He'll need them for a meeting tomorrow morning."

I nodded, taking the papers. I knew I would have to face Victor again, and my stomach knotted with anxiety. I walked to the elevator, trying to mentally prepare for the encounter.

When I arrived at Anton's office, the door was slightly ajar. I knocked lightly before entering, feeling my heart race. "Excuse me, Mr. Brown. Laura asked me to deliver these documents."

Anton looked up from his computer and smiled. "Lana, come in. And please, call me Anton."

I entered and handed over the documents, trying to appear professional. "Here are the documents for tomorrow's meeting."

"Thank you," he said, taking the papers. "How was your first day?"

"It was great. A bit hectic, but I'm settling in," I replied, feeling a bit more confident.

"I'm glad to hear that," he said, his eyes fixed on mine. "If you need anything, don't hesitate to reach out."

I thanked him and left the office, feeling a mix of relief and excitement. I returned to my desk and finished my tasks before preparing to leave.

As I walked to the subway, I couldn't help but reflect on the day. Meeting Anton in person was a surprise, but also a motivation to dedicate myself even more to my work. There was something about him that inspired me to want to be part of that world and prove that I was capable.

At home, my mother was eager to hear about my first day. I told her everything, from the warm reception from Megan to the unexpected encounters with Anton.

"He seems like an impressive man," she said, smiling. "I'm so proud of you, Lana. I know you're going to do great."

My mother's smile hid the worry she always carried. She was battling a chronic illness that required constant treatments, and our financial situation was difficult. I knew that my success in this job was crucial to ensuring we could pay for her medical expenses and keep the house.

I spent the rest of the night mentally reviewing all my interactions and planning how I could improve the next day. I knew there was still a lot to learn and many challenges ahead, but I was determined to do my best.

The next morning, I arrived early at the office, ready to face another day. Laura gave me more tasks, and I focused on completing each one precisely. During a break, I met Megan in the kitchen again.

"So, Lana, how was meeting Mr. Brown?" she asked, curious.

"It was... interesting. He's much more approachable than I imagined," I replied, trying to sound nonchalant.

"That's great. It's always good to have a boss who cares about the team," Megan said, smiling.

As the days passed, I started to feel more comfortable at work. Laura was still demanding, but I began to realize that her criticism was constructive and helped me grow professionally. I was learning to navigate the daily challenges and felt more confident with each completed task.

One afternoon, while organizing some files in the central archive, I heard a familiar voice behind me. "Lana, how are things?"

I turned and found Anton standing there, watching me with a friendly smile. "Mr. Brown... I mean, Anton, things are going well. I'm settling in," I replied, trying not to seem nervous.

"I'm glad to hear that," he said, taking a few steps closer. "You're doing a great job. Keep it up."

I thanked him, feeling my heart race with his compliment. There was something about his presence that always left me a little breathless. I continued my work, but Anton's image stayed with me for the rest of the day.

At the end of the week, Laura called me into her office for a meeting. "Lana, I've noticed your progress. You're doing very well, and I believe you have the potential to grow here at Brown Enterprises."

I felt a wave of pride and gratitude. "Thank you, Laura. I'm really working hard to do my best."

"I know," she said, smiling. "Keep it up, and we'll see great things from you."

I left Laura's office feeling motivated and determined to continue doing my best. I knew the road was still long, but I was ready to face any challenge.
