My name is Alina Stormheart, 23, and I am a student at Nightclaw University, a supernatural school where werewolves, vampires, wizards, elves, and many other creatures coexist. But I am not a simple human lost in the middle of this chaos. No, I am special. Very special. My father is a legendary Alpha, a wolf feared by all, and my mother? A witch with powers so incredible that she could rival the greatest mages in history. But being the daughter of an Alpha and a witch is not a blessing. It means carrying the weight of an impossible perfection. Everyone is watching me, everyone expects me to be flawless. How can I meet these expectations when a burning secret threatens to destroy everything? What if I am not as perfect as they think? What dangers lie dormant in my hybrid blood? Meanwhile, Kai Blackthorn, 25, is preparing his succession. He is supposed to take his father's place as Supreme Alpha, but Kai has other ideas. Rebellious, arrogant and seductive, he prefers to spend his nights seducing and his days fleeing his responsibilities. However, his father is adamant: to become Alpha, Kai must find his mate. A soul mate who will make him the ultimate leader. But how can he believe in this story of destiny when he has never felt this legendary connection? And when our paths cross, everything changes. Kai begins to wonder: what if Alina was different? But why does the attraction he feels for her seem mixed with dark shadows and dangerous secrets? For her part, Alina must face strange visions, nightmares of an ancient power that haunts her. Who is the mysterious force that whispers in her dreams, calling her to embrace a destiny she does not yet understand? Why do her powers seem to grow stronger every day, threatening to spiral out of control? And most importantly, what will happen when Kai discovers Alina's true face? Can a forbidden love survive secrets that could destroy both their worlds?
The moon, round and bright, bathed Nightclaw in a silvery light, giving an almost mystical aura to the university nestled in the heart of the forested mountains. Everything here seemed to belong to another world. And it was true. Nightclaw was no ordinary university. In its corridors, werewolves chatted with vampires, elves exchanged scrolls with wizards, and Alina Stormheart walked alone, a book clutched to her chest, avoiding glances.
*Who am I, really?* This question tormented Alina more than she dared to admit. Daughter of a feared Alpha and a witch of legendary power, she carried both heritages within her. A powerful, unique blend. But this mix also made her an enigma. A danger, people sometimes whispered. She felt the curious looks, the silent judgments. Those who expected it to fail. Others, on the contrary, hoped that it would live up to its origins, that it would become an indomitable force. But what did they know about the pressure on his shoulders?
She took a deep breath and pushed open the door to the main hall. The familiar warmth of the place enveloped him immediately. The stone walls were covered with banners in the colors of the different species. The atmosphere was lively, as always. The students, all from supernatural worlds, filled the room with conversation and laughter. Alina tried to smile as she walked across the room, but a strange feeling nagged at her, a distant whisper in the back of her mind.
"Alina! Wait! »
She turned around. It was Jace, a werewolf from the Bloodfang clan, and one of the few friends she had in Nightclaw. Tall, with messy black hair and a disarming smile, he had contagious energy.
"Are you still in the moon?" » he called out as he reached her.
Alina shrugged, trying to appear relaxed. "No, I was just thinking, that's all. »
"Those weird dreams again? » Jace asked, lowering his voice so they wouldn't be heard.
She hesitated. The nightmares that haunted her became more and more vivid. Visions of flames, screams, and an unknown voice calling him by his first name. She had only talked to Jace about it, and even he seemed worried every time she brought up the subject.
"Yes, but it's nothing. It will pass. » She forced a smile, but Jace frowned.
"Alina, maybe you should..."
"It'll be okay, Jace. I promise you. »
Before he could insist, the main door to the hall suddenly opened. A gust of wind rushed into the room, followed by a group of imposing wolves. Their arrival silenced the conversations. All eyes turned towards them, as if they had just brought the storm with them. Alina didn't need to ask who they were. The overwhelming charisma of the young man at the head of the group immediately betrayed him.
Kai Blackthorn.
It was the first time Alina saw the heir to the title of Supreme Alpha. She had heard of him, of course. Everyone knew his name. Kai was known for his arrogance, rebelliousness, and apparent disregard for responsibility. But what we rarely forgot to mention was his magnetism. A presence so strong that it seemed to suck all the energy around him.
Alina felt a shiver run through her skin as their eyes met. Kai's stormy gray eyes seemed to read her. A mixture of curiosity and challenge lit up his face. She looked away, annoyed by the effect he had on her.
"Who is him? she whispered to Jace, even though she already knew the answer.
Jace grimaced. "Kai Blackthorn." It seems he came for... well, I don't know. Maybe his father sent him away to finally focus on his role as Alpha. But you know how he is. It's a walking nightmare. »
Kai walked past them, his smirk betraying that he had heard. Alina stiffened. Before she could say anything, he stopped and stared into hers.
"So, you're the famous Alina Stormheart? »
His voice was deep, tinged with an insolence that made you want to knock, or maybe smile. Alina crossed her arms, refusing to give him the advantage.
"And you, famous daddy's boy? »
A stunned silence followed his response. A few muffled laughs arose in the room, but Kai didn't lose his smile. On the contrary, he seemed amused.
"Interesting," he murmured, before continuing on his way, his group close behind.
Alina felt her heart beat faster. She shouldn't have responded like that, but there was something about Kai that made her defensive. He was bothering her, and she hated it.
"Are you crazy or what? » Jace whispered, looking panicked. "Do you know who you just talked to? »
"Yes, so what? » she replied, shrugging her shoulders. But deep down, she knew Jace was right. Kai wasn't just anyone. And the fact that he noticed her could only mean one thing: trouble.
Later that evening, Alina found herself alone in the library, seeking some peace and quiet. The books, at least, didn't judge her. She was reading through a book on ancient magic when the sound of footsteps caught her attention. She looked up to see Kai approaching, an enigmatic smile on his lips.
"You're everywhere," she said, trying to hide her irritation.
"Maybe it's you who's everywhere," he replied, sitting down across from her.
She rolled her eyes. "What do you want, Kai? »
He tilted his head, peering at her as if trying to solve a mystery. " You. »
His response unsettled her. She laughed nervously. "Very funny. »
"I'm not kidding," he said, his tone suddenly serious. "There's something about you...something I can't explain. »
Alina frowned. She didn't know whether to be flattered or worried. "Well, good luck solving that mystery, Blackthorn. But I'm not your toy. »
Kai gave a smile. "I understood that well. »
He stood up, but before leaving, he leaned towards her slightly. "Be careful, Alina. This world has secrets that could destroy you. »
Then he walked away, leaving her alone with her tormented thoughts. She didn't know why, but his words resonated within her, like a warning she couldn't ignore.
As she returned to her room that night, the whispers in her mind became more insistent, clearer. A voice, soft and terrifying at the same time, whispered his name.
*Alina... destiny awaits you.*
She stopped abruptly, out of breath. Destiny? What fate?
She knew one thing: something inside her had just awakened. And that was just the beginning.
