Elena Harper let out a groan as she turned off the alarm clock by her bedside.
"Dude, I need to sleep."
"I'm sorry," she mumbled to her roommate as she grabbed her toothbrush.
Reluctantly, she stood up, her eyes lazily scanning all her roommates still sleeping.
Seven sleeping peaceful souls. Why did she have to attend a private school?
She let out a final groan as she crawled towards the bathroom. Her eyes ran through the huge signage on the bathroom door. AMIGO.
She smiled.
Elena had been living at Amigo for as long as she could remember. Amigo was an orphanage. It was established decades ago by catholic sisters and had been active ever since. Elena hadn't really bothered about how she got to Amigo-her parents were probably dead or didn't want her like every other person at Amigo.
She lived at the female dorm at Amigo for teens. Amigo had different dorms- the ones for the kids and the ones for teens like her.
She loved Amigo. Probably because she had lived her whole life there or because it was just Amigo.
It was really big. Elena had gotten lost around a couple of times when she was younger but always ended up finding her way thanks to the Cathedral right in the middle.
"Good Morning," she said as she got back into the room.
"Hey, Elena."
"Hey."
"You up?"
"Lilyy, did you wear my trainers yesterday?" Elena asked, pulling out her trainers from her wardrobe. She had placed them on her wardrobe and met them inside instead. She had also tied the laces carefully, but they were now carelessly tied.
"Err... Nope."
False.
"Who said that?!" Elena yelled, almost jumping.
"Said what?"
"The false. I mean I heard someone say false," She replied.
"You gotta be hearing things, dude."
No, she wasn't.
"Really? Eh, okay then. Lily you wore my trainers yesterday, right?"
"I didn't."
False.
"Hey y'all!" she yelled, jumping. "Someone keeps on saying false. I'm not kidding this time. I definitely heard a voice."
Lily laughed, getting up from her bed. "It's just in your head. Fine I wore your trainers yesterday, happy? You don't need to act all weird."
True. The voice rang again.
It was crazy. How was it possible she was the only one hearing the voice. Still confused, she picked her hair band, tying her hair up into a ponytail. She looked at the 5ft5 image of her that had refused to grow taller since she clocked sixteen staring back at her from the mirror. She had warm ivory skin with long wavy brown hair with her eyes in a matching brown color. She straightened her stripped uniform skirt as she immediately grabbed her black flats and rushed out of the room.
She hurried downstairs to the dining, her eyes scanning the boys seated. She grunted out in dissatisfaction as she headed out.
"Luke!" Elena called out immediately she spotted him. She walked towards him. He was seated on her favourite chair at AMIGO garden.
"Hey, Amigo princess," he called out on spotting her. He waved, his dark hair getting blown by the wind, moving with his hands.
She rolled her eyes at the nickname. She was nicknamed 'Amigo Princess' since she could remember. Why? Cause ever since she was little she randomly got gifts from outsiders a lot. Thus, she was treated sort of special and even attended a private school, all courtesy of her mystery sponsor.
"Get your butt off my special chair," she scoffed, sitting beside him. "You weren't at the dining, fasting?"
"Wasn't hungry. I thought you went to school without telling me bye," he replied, pulling her cheeks.
True.
"Hey!" she yelled, smacking his hands away, ignoring the voice again. "I've warned you to stop pulling my cheeks and why? Must i? Must I always tell you bye before leaving?"
"The day you go anywhere without telling me 'bye' I'll murder you," he said and from his expression she knew he wasn't kidding.
"Of course," she replied, grinning as she leaned forward to hug him. "Bye!"
"I hate you, ugh," he scoffed, pulling away. "Go away."
False.
Elena laughed at him as she stood up to leave. Luke Williams, or Lucas Williams as he was almost never called was her best friend. Actually, her second best friend though he preferred to be called her 'first best friend' knowing fully well the numbers had nothing to do with his position in her heart. Almost 6ft tall, had neutral skin, dark hair and brown eyes- he was quite handsome and never failed to acknowledge it. He grew up in Amigo too making their friendship close to ten years old.
The school bus' horn greeted her as she got in. Indistinct chattering welcoming her from every corner of the bus. Only less than half of school went with the school bus and she happened to be part of the half though Dawson High school was just a 20mins walking distance from Amigo.
False.
False.
True.
True.
False.
False.
False.
True.
True.
False.
Elena pulled her hair as she groaned the hundredth time. She was definitely going crazy. The voices were in her head and it wasn't helping that she seemed like the only one hearing them. She could already feel eyes on her as she jumped every single time she heard the voice.
