TO become an assassin was not an easy one. Kylie Legazpi, a professional assassin who was trained in killing people ordered by her "clients" or people who hired her as an assassin, knew that. At first, she would not be considered an assassin because her face was so innocent, fresh after all. She could easily get away from her crimes because she was accustomed to hiding in different personalities. She was good at feigning innocence when massacres were going around her. Her income depended on the job she was asked to do.
Millions would be paid to her especially when she still had to live with the person she had to kill in the next few days.
Kylie got to meet several clients in a month. Some of them were even more ruthless than she could think because of what they would ask her to do. Other clients were kind enough to pay her millions just to scare their enemy. There were times when her client's request was weird, she would politely decline if needed.
"KYLIE, do you have another client scheduled today?" Zeke immediately asked the lady.
"Yes. You know, I have to work hard to survive," Kylie replied. "Aside from that, I am not accustomed to sitting at home."
Zeke was shaken by what his companion said. Like Kylie, he was also a professional assassin, trained to kill people. He didn't know what had entered the lady's brain to accept a new job. Kylie did not have to work h because she was already rich. She could live a luxurious life without worries.
"You know, with the amount you have killed, you will not need another assignment or client," Zeke said immediately. "No, you don't have to work hard anymore because you already have a lot of savings. You can leave this job just in case."
"Maybe I'll get sick if I leave my job," Kylie replied. "I'm used to our work even at first, I almost threw up blood because of what I was doing."
"Well, there would always be a first time for everything," Zeke said. "We were trained in this job."
"I know. Wait, why did you ask if I have a new client?" Kylie asked immediately.
Zeke took a deep breath before replying, "You were supposed to get some rest today because you were exhausted from your last assignment then. And yet, here you are, getting a new client."
"I had been able to rest well, so I guess there is nothing wrong if I wish to make a come back as an assassin," Kylie replied.
"Are you sure you can do that?" Zeke asked.
"Sure, you don't have to worry about me anymore," Kylie replied. "I can refuse when I don't like the assignment assigned to me, can't I?"
"I can tell that you are right," Zeke replied. "You have the right to refuse if you think you cannot do what you are asked to do."
Kylie raised an eyebrow at what she heard, "You know me, Zeke. I'm not backing down from any job. I don't give a fuck if they want to hire me to do brutal work."
"Kylie ..."
"I know what I am doing, thanks for the concern," Kylie replied in a stoic voice. "I need to get ready. I do not need rude remarks from my client in our first meeting," Kylie added before she left Zeke.
JOSHUA CARRIEDO was a son of a well-known businessman and philanthropist of the country. With his wealth, he could buy everything he wanted, even love. He believed that ladies would come to satisfy his lust.
Joshua was known as a spoiled brat of Don Emilio. Often, they would change maids because of his naughtiness. If his father did not evict her, he would do it. Therefore, it was always difficult to find a new maid especially, the said young man was famous because of his reputation. No one wanted to serve him. They only got a new maid when Don Emilio promised a lot of money to the people he took.
"Dad, did you find a replacement for the one I fired the other day?" Joshua's arrogant question to Don Emilio.
The old man just took a deep breath before he even replied, "You fired her because of your plain stupidity, but yes, I found a replacement."
Joshua smiled at what he heard, "I only asked Nadia to do something simple but she didn't do it because she was lazy."
"Which one?! The bath?! You're f*cking too old to ask for assistance from a woman," Don Emilio replied. "Somehow, she seemed to be relieved when you fired her."
Don Emilio's sarcastic remarks were not new to Joshua. He was used to it because he knew that even though Don Emilio was suffering from his mischief, he would not severely criticize him. He also knew that he was uniquely loved by his father.
"Anyways, I have seen someone who I think can discipline you, in ruthless ways," said Don Emilio. "I just hope we can agree on the price he will set."
Joshua just whistled at what he heard, "I guess you already looked for a professional one. That lady is naming her price eh."
"We will see Anak. I cannot wait for your reaction when you meet him," Don Emilio said smiling as Joshua frowned.
"I cannot wait to know her," Joshua replied smiling. "She will fall for my charms when we meet."
Don Emilio let out only a shrug in response to what his son said. Well, he had not said that he took a man yet so his unico hijo would be surprised when he found out that he did not take a woman as his babysitter.
HOURS passed quickly and night came. Kylie stared at herself in front of the mirror. She smiled when she touched her newly cut hair. She thought she had lost her feminine side again with the barber's cut she made on her hair just a few hours ago. She even squirmed in front of the mirror to make sure that her chest was flat again and there was no curve visible on her body. A smile came out to her lips when she became satisfied with the result of the hiding she had done.
"Let's go, Kyle, you still have work to do today," Kylie whispered to herself before she even left.
Kylie took herself to a five-star hotel to meet up with her next client. She had already used her cellphone to see the person who wanted to transact with her. She was not surprised when she saw an old man at a reserved table. She was wondering why he still needed her service, he was a decent person in her eyes. She thought he was innocent of the jobs he was asked to do. She had adjusted herself before she even showed up to the old man.
"You must be Don Emilio Carriedo, right?" she asked as soon as he was facing the table occupied by the old man.
"Yes, and you are Kyle ..."
"... Kyle Legazpi Sir," Kylie immediately added using her favorite alias in transactions.
"Have a seat, Mr. Legazpi, the two of us need to talk," Emilio immediately ordered the lady.
