ASHELY OLSEN
"It's often said that money can buy happiness, but my story proves otherwise. I may have everything material I could ever want, but I lack something more important - true love and happiness."
My name is Ashley Olsen and I'm 18 years old. My parents have everything they could possibly want, but that doesn't mean I'm happy. They don't allow me to do anything without their permission or consent, which makes me feel trapped and suffocated. I want to be free to make my own decisions and live my own life, but it seems like that's impossible under my current circumstances.
I stood in front of the mirror, dressed in my high-end private school uniform. I brushed my hair back, taking in my reflection.
I went to a prestigious school called JOY High, which was known for being one of the best schools in the country. I was considered beautiful by my peers, with a curvy figure and long, toned legs. But despite my physical beauty, I was not happy. I felt like a bird in a gilded cage, trapped in an environment that didn't allow me to be myself.
I grabbed my bag and headed downstairs. As I entered the dining room, I saw my parents already seated at the table.
"Good morning, Dad and Mom,"
"Good morning, Ashley," my dad, Brad, replied.
I nodded and took a seat at the table, my stomach grumbling as the smell of freshly brewed coffee filled the air.
"I hope you haven't forgotten what we talked about yesterday," my dad said
"Brad, please, not this again, It's too early for that." my mom, Lily, interjected.
"Woman, I wasn't talking to you, so mind your own business" my dad snapped back.
I cringed, knowing this was just the beginning of what would be a long and tense breakfast.
I stood up, my bag slung over my shoulder.
"Ashley, you haven't even finished your breakfast" my mom
"I've lost my appetite," I said, trying to keep my voice level.
"Sit down, young lady" my dad barked, his voice thunderous. I sat back down, the color draining from my face.
