But that's life in general, not my wedding night which is tonight. This is supposed to be the best night of my life. Or isn't that what they said? That a woman's wedding night is the best night of her life. A night full of happiness and unforgettable memories.

But whatever I will feel tonight doesn't seem like happiness. Not when I am sitting on our bed, all alone, with my newly wedded husband nowhere to be found. 

The cold night air breezes in from the large windows, chilling my bones, making me feel lonelier. Where he could have gone, I don't know. Why he decided that tonight of all nights is the best time to attend to that business, I don't understand. 

He is supposed to be making love to me. Why aren't we currently on the sheets, entangled in each other's arms and kissing each other senseless? Where did he go?

The loud roar of laughter coming from the room down the hall filters into our room, triggering my loneliness to a dangerous level. I quickly bite my trembling lips so hard that I almost start tasting blood. 

Tonight is supposed to be the best night of my life, not the worst, so I am not going to let the tears ruin my beautiful memories. 

Deciding it's best if I take a walk outside on the cold night, I gather the long tail of my wedding dress and proceed out of the room and towards the hallway. 

The silver lights lining the wide hallway shine so bright, illuminating every end of the space. Each step I take gets me closer to the room where the laughter has been coming from. Only that I can no longer hear that laughter anymore. 

What fills the air as I stop in front of the door are loud moans being made by different voices. Not one or two, but three or even more. 

Are they having a threesome? A clusterfuck?

Some of the remaining sadness lingering in my mind slips away, curiosity replacing it as I place my ear on the door for better audio. After all, what better way is there to chase away boredom than to listen to other people do what I am supposed to be doing.

But who could this mysterious man be, though? She never introduced him to me during the wedding reception. If he is here at the resort, that means he had definitely attended my wedding. Thinking about it, I didn't see her dancing with anyone. 

An idea crosses my mind to go around and peep at them through the window. I discard that idea as quickly as possible because that would be invading her privacy. But knowing how carefree my best friend is, she wouldn't mind. In fact, Amanda will love for me to watch her riding her man.

I am still contemplating on whether to respect myself by simply walking away or to just fuck it and go look when I hear a voice that has my thoughts freezing.

My heart skips a beat on realizing whose voice  that belongs to. 

"No… This can't be," I mutter to myself, "There is no way in hell…"

Without giving it a second thought, I flee through the hallway, running to circle through the back of the resort. I struggle to try to get on my feet. When I notice that my dress tail is hooked on a rock, I use my last ounce of strength to pull it out. It didn't work. I try again, this time harder. Still not moving, I resort to tearing it out completely. 

Finally getting up, I rush to the window where the worst thing that could happen to me is currently taking place. 

I look through the window and the forbidden image crosses my line of sight. Tears start blurring my view a second later, just as my heart continues pounding in my chest, and I imagine for a second that it is going to explode.
