Scars of the Abandoned Bride by Nancy Hart

Sofia waited anxiously at the altar. As much as she looked to the sides, the groom was nowhere to be seen. She was alone, her feet felt even cold, as did her hands.

She could see, and when she looked ahead, no one was coming.

“My friend, I think it's time to go," muttered Melisa, holding her by the arm.

“He has to come," she commented after waiting for more than half an hour.

“Sofi, he won't come, we have to leave," she said taking his hand and trying to get him to leave.

“I won't leave without him, he would never leave me," she commented with teary eyes.

After waiting for an hour standing with the guests crestfallen. The murmurs came and went, she finally decided to walk.

She never thought to do it alone, without anyone coming to throw rice at her, without the corresponding congratulations.

She walked, with her heart in her chest, not knowing why her beloved had not appeared.

A year after that dramatic event, Sofia was looking for a job in a company.
