"The DNA results are ready," Dr. Simon announced.

My heart thundered against my chest, palms sweated,muscles tensed,shivers of uncertainty,to cut the shot,my eyes were twitching my eyes seem to always sense an impending doom before it arrival.

At a snail pace, I approached Dr. Simon's outstretched hand and accepted the brown envelope.

Though I yearned for closure, fear and denial held me back. what if I am Jason's father.... Jason, Amanda's 7-year-old, potentially my son!.

Jason was born 9 months after my wedding to Vanessa. Vanessa is the absolute love of my life,she is the best woman any man could ask for,my soulmate, she would be so devastated if she hears of this....

Oh na na what's your name 🎶🎶🎶 oh na na.... 🎶 My phone pierced the silence:

"Hello, honey. Ethan and I are nearby. Want to grab lunch?" Vanessa's voice shattered my reverie.

"Hey, Vassa,trust you are good,I would have loved to but Company outdoor activity. Can't make it," I stammered.

"You didn't mention". Well my secretary and I would be meeting a client soon after lunch,I would be home by 6. Love you."she whispered

"Love you too, Vassa." I couldn't bring myself to saying more knowing I might have made the biggest mistake of my life. The call ended; reality sets in.

The brown envelope was sealed with inscription that read: "Anderson Peters." Tearing it open, my heart raced.

My eyes caught sight of the boldly written;"Probability Paternity: 99.99995%"

For a long assumed moment I stood firmly but my legs failed I collapsed into a metal chair few steps away from me,it made a loud noise,drawing startled glances,I couldn't care less,every effort I had invested into my marriage is wasted.

My 7-year marriage to Vanessa is at the verge of crumbling! I sat in stunned silence, the metal chair creaking beneath me.

The probability of paternity stared back: 99.99995%. Jason was my son! My mind reeled "How could I face Vanessa?"

"What about our 7-year marriage?"

"Would she forgive me?" Tears welled up, but I fought them back.

I needed clarity. Amanda's face flashed before me her smile, her laughter. Our secret. My phone buzzed again: Vanessa.

"Hey, honey. Just checking in."you aren't home yet I hesitated, unsure what to say. "Vassa, I...I need some time. Personal stuff."

"Everything okay?" She asked

"No...yes. Just overwhelmed.

"Love you."

"Love you too." I ended the call, feeling guilty.

The hospital's bustling atmosphere faded into background noise. My world shrunk to a single question: How did I get here?

That fateful night, at my office dinner, I'd met Amanda. Vanessa's unexpected arrival had sparked joy,she was accompanied by Amanda.

"Hey, honey!" Vanessa exclaimed.

"Vassa! What are you doing here?" You said you couldn't make it I asked, surprised. "Don't say! You really can't wait to be my wife huh?" I chuckled.

Vanessa's radiant smile captivated me.

"We can't," she teased.

The thought of it makes me want to boogie she swings happily.

Amanda interrupted, "Hello?"

"Oh,Amanda meet peter,peter meet Amanda my client turned friend,we were out together and thought to stop by,"she has been so amazing.

Turns to Amanda."Girl, where have you been all my life?"

Amanda laughter filled the air,oh come on you are the most amazing she said.

I smiled, feeling drawn to Amanda's warmth. "Nice to meet you, Amanda," I said, shaking her hand.

Amanda's eyes locked onto mine, a hint of mutual interest. "The pleasure is all mine," she replied.

Vanessa's voice broke the spell. Let's grab some drink,we approached a table,settled and ordered a few bottle of champagne.

The evening was a beautiful one.

Vassa,you can't drink that much I exclaimed as I watch her gulp down a full glass of champagne.

"I can drink that much",just for tonight she screamed filling up another glass.

"How would you get home after this"I asked attempting to discourage her?

She snarled,"Amanda is here she would get me home Right?Amanda,"she said facing her

"I would do that much",Amanda said sipping from her glass,"except that I can't hold my alcohol,"they all bursted out laughing except that Vanessa's laughter was due to alcohol intoxication.

"So Peter what do you love about Vanessa?"
