The Enemy is in Love with Me

I was walking on the road, continuing my journey to the "Royal Capitol", when suddenly I saw a horsemen being attacked by a wild beast. I quickly pulled out my sword, and killed the monster in one slash. The horsemen thanked me, he also warned me that this place is full of high powered beasts.

After a long walk, I finally reached my destination. Suddenly, a hot girl approached me and invited me to a drink.

I introduced myself. "My name is Duke"

"Oh! So you're an adventurer",she replied.

I told her that I came here to join the Royal Army, and be rich.

" Perfect", She said, I know someone in the Royal Army, with your great physique I'm sure you will be recruited in no time.

I was overjoyed by what she said and asked her what else do I need. She told me that I have to show money if i want to climb higher in the ranks much faster. I showed her the money and she assured me that with the money I have, I will climb the ranks faster. We drank hard liquor, after a couple of shots, I blacked out.

I was awakened by the barkeeper, and I haven't seen the girl anymore.I told the barkeeper that I was waiting for the girl.

"You just got scammed kid, You shouldn't be so quick to trust people around here," the barkeeper said.

It was night and the bar was about to close. So I had no choice but to sleep outside."Great there goes my money, I guess this is a lesson learned for me",I said to myself.

I took a glance at the wall, and something caught my attention. It was a bounty poster of wanted assassins called "Nightfall Raiders". I didn't think about it much and was about to sleep when suddenly, a very rich looking girl saw me, she asked about my situation and I told her everything, she then insisted that I go home with her and I could stay there for a while. Her parents welcomed me to their house.

The day after, she asked my assistance for shopping, of course I agreed. I waited outside with some of her guards, when suddenly I talked my thoughts out loud when I saw the castle of the Royal Capitol.

Then one of her guards said, "The Royal Capitol isn't what you think it is kid. When you look from outside you could see joy and prosperity, but in reality it is the opposite, people have been suffering here ever since the former emperor died".

"Why, Is the new emperor too corrupt and cruel?", I asked.

"The new emperor here is a kid, but he is being controlled by the prime minister and they are making him drink some type of medicine", the guard replied

That's when I started to question everything. Then the guard told me to keep our conversation a secret because he doesn't want to get in trouble.

It was already evening when we got to her home. I had a little chit chat with her parents, and we all went to sleep afterwards. As I was about to sleep, I was awakened by the screams of one of the guard. That's when I saw all of them get slaughtered mercilessly, I ran to protect the girl who saved me.

Finally after moments of searching, I found her with some of her guards. I sighed in relief.

But that's when the murderers found us, one of them went after us and kept attacking the girl, but I also kept on fighting her. The assasin kept on saying to stay out of the way for I am not her target, her target was the girl behind me.They were somehow familiar, they were the assassins from the poster I saw.

"I won't let you kill the innocent girl", I yelled.

"I will have to kill you both then", she said with a careless face.

She was about to charge, that's when she was stopped by one of her teammates, and it was the girl who scammed me.

"You're the one who scammed me", I yelled.

"Yes it's me, the beautiful lady", she said.

"You said this girl is innocent right?, wait till you see this. She kicked the door open behind us, what I saw chilled me to the bones, inside the chamber were dead people.

The scammer girl then started explaining. This family picks up random adventurers and offers them to stay at their home, when the adventurer gains their trust, they feed them poison, and torture them afterwards. The father will entertain their victims, the mother will poison the foods they serve to them, and this young lady over here will torture them in whatever way she wants.

"That's why it's time for her to join her parents in hell", the assassin said.

"They're lying", cried the lady who helped me."I have no idea about any of this,I didn't even know about the existence of this chamber".

A voice from the side of the chamber suddenly spoke,"Duke,that's you right".

I froze when I saw who it was.

It was my long lost friend from my village, on the brink of death.Then he started explaining that the girl who helped me was actually the one who poisoned and tortured him. He was told that he could stay in her house for a while, and after he ate the food he gave him, everything blacked out, and he woke up in this chamber.

That's when the lady suddenly spoked

"So what if I did that? , lowlifes and scums have no right to live, I wish all of them would die and burn to hell".

In pure rage, I killed the lady without giving it a second thought. My friend thanked me for what I did, before completely dying . Then the assassins hurried us to get out of there, before we get caught by the royal guards.

I was saddened by my friend's death, but guess I have no choice but to go with them.
