Chapter 1 Jenny's visit to meddy
I can't do this anymore! I'm tired, Jenny sobs burying her head in her hands. I want to end everything. You can't possibly be serious, meddy says pulling jenny close, what about the kids, you want to be a single mother with two kids, is that what you want? I don't know anymore meddy, jenny says sitting upright, this marriage is draining me, I can't even think straight, I'm not happy. Then talk to frank, meddy says still holding her, you both should sort things out, you know mum and dad will never approve of a divorce, we're Christian's that's what they'll end up telling you.
I'm not telling mum and dad, I'll get a divorce and leave town with my kids, I don't know where to but I'll think of something. Meddy stands up and starts pacing. You are not getting a divorce jenny, get a hold of your emotions. Everything will be fine meddy says going over to jenny and hugging her, everything will be fine, just give it time, please. Jenny hugs meddy too, resting her head on her shoulder, I love you sis, I love you too meddy replies. Thank you for always listening to me meddy, I don't know what I'll do without you. You're all I've got jenny and I want you to be fine. I'll be fine, I need to pick the kids from school and get some house supplies too, jenny picks up her handbag and car key, meddy walks her to the door, they say their goodbyes and jenny drives off.
I think meddy is right, jenny says to herself, I might just be over reacting. But what of Alex, she thought. Alex needs me too, Alex has really been patient with me, is six years already and I'm yet to make up my mind. It's so unfair , I'll have to make up my mind soonest before I loose Alex, I can't afford to lose Alex I'll just die. Jenny parks her car and walks over to the school reception to pick her kids. Mummy! Sam and Sabella both screamed running to hug jenny. She hugs them and they walk to the car. How was school today? Mummy Sam was naughty to his teacher, Sabella reported, Sam is that true? No mum, I was trying to get my pen back from my friend and I was ask to stand up. Did you take permission before doing that? Jenny asked, no mum, you should have taken permission. When you get to school tomorrow, apologize to your teacher, ok mum Sam says.
Jenny drives into the compound, parked and the kids hurriedly gets down racing inside the house, jenny calls after them. Take your bags upstairs. Jenny is making dinner when frank got home. Mummy, daddy is home. The kids call from the living room. Frank walks into the kitchen, welcome honey, jenny greeted him, frank walks over to her and perk her on the lips. I had a hectic day, I'm so tired. Go freshen up, I'll set up the table for dinner. Frank goes upstairs, just then Jenny's phone rings, is Alex. Hey she says, you promised to call me remember? I'm sorry jenny says, I've been busy. I want to see you tomorrow morning, but I'll be in the office, tomorrow morning it is, Alex says and hung up the phone.
