"Sister, don't forget to call?" said Celestine holding back tears while we were outside our rented house. Behind me are my things packed up inside a huge suitcase. "Is everything you need already there? Have you checked the vitamins? Your hot compress? toothbrush? Hygiene kit—" I laughed, interrupting mom. "Yes, mom, everyone is here. Don't worry too much about me." Mama and I stared at each other and there were traces of tears in her eyes. because his eyes are red and starting to water. They are getting extra emotional now because this is the first time I will be away from them for so long. I will have to stay in with the new job that I will start, that's why my family is so emotional. "B-just don't forget to call," mom's voice trembled. I bit my bottom lip to stop myself from crying. I promised myself that I wouldn't cry today because I wanted to leave in peace. I don't want them to worry about me and maybe they won't let me go by chance. "Yes, mom. I'll always call." "Sister, I'll miss you," Celestine added before hugging me tightly. She's my younger sister and currently studying in college. I'm six years older than him and he'll be able to graduate from college in just a little while, at least it'll help us, but since I'm the one who's teaching him now, I'll really need this job. "Be careful, Seia?" mom caressed my arm. I smiled bitterly before kissing them. When we parted, mom even combed my hair as if she was still thinking about whether to let me go or not. "Just tell dad I'm leaving," my voice started to tremble. dad was there inside the house, sulking at me. If there was one of us who was not in favor of my decision to work remotely it was none other than dad. First of all, it was not acceptable for me to stop studying and work as a maid. He said he didn't study me just to be an assistant and it hurt for him to see that. I told my dad that I need to save up somehow because he doesn't earn enough from driving the jeep for Celestine and me. I understand him but I also just want to help our family. "I'll take care of your dad, Seia. He'll understand too," mama said understandingly before kissing me on the cheek. "We love you so much son." I didn't delay saying goodbye to the family because I might end up deciding not to leave. So when I got in the car to pick me up, I cried silently inside. Our trip took several hours until we finally arrived in Manila. I fell asleep in the middle of our flight and when I woke up I noticed that our car had stopped in front of a big and very elegant house. "Wow!" I unconsciously uttered as I looked up at the three storey modern house. I glanced at the driver when I saw that the gate had opened and it looked like he was about to enter the car. "Brother, is this where I will work?" He looked at me in the rearview mirror. "Yes, here we are." My brother maneuvered your car for a while until we stopped inside. He even opened the door for me while I was still unable to move my eyes around. I got out of the car and helped Kuya to put down my things one by one. "This house is big, brother," I said to the driver. Some men also came out and talked to the driver who took me. "Miss, we'll take you inside," he said after putting down my things. "Yes, okay," I answered then started to follow them. my eyes kept on wondering around. The house is undeniably luxurious and huge! I feel like I'm going to get lost here for a few days. "Sir Jax is still at work but he's on his way home," Kuya said as we entered the entrance. I really can't stop myself from being amazed at every hallway we pass. "I'm Sebastian, but just call me Baste. I'm Sir Jax's personal driver." "Uh, I'm Sefia Bianca. Seia for short," I introduced myself. The man who I think was in his forties smiled at me and then we continued walking inside. We stopped for a moment when we finally entered the house. I can't help but be excited and nervous at the same time. because the house was so hot, I was afraid to step on the marble floor because it might get dirty. You can see almost a mirror there, so it's really scary to move. I feel that with a little movement I can be there in no time. "Seia, I'm going to take you to your room first," Kuya Baste turned to me after talking to a few boys. I just noticed that there didn't seem to be any other maids acting there besides them. I didn't see any other women there besides me. "S-go ahead." "Because Sir Jax told me not to bring Lily near you until she gets home," he said, making my lips part. "Okay, no problem," I replied carefully. "Is Lily the child I'm going to take care of?" He nodded then smiled again. "Yes, son of Sir Jax." "How old is he?" "The child is six years old," he answered then motioned for me to walk again. "Here we are." I immediately followed it when it went up to the second floor of the house. "Ah Kuya Baste, I just want to ask," I said and hesitated to ask while following it. "Uh, why don't I see any other maids here? Am I the only one doin

Chapter 1 1

CHAPTER 1 | Don't Test My Patience

My first day seems like my usual day. I woke up early to prepare breakfast for Sir Jax. Around six o'clock I was already awake to take care of breakfast but when I went down to the living room, Kuya Baste told me that he had already left. maybe I'll go early tomorrow so I can catch up with him next time.

"You leave the house early," he said while eating the breakfast I had cooked for the boss. It's a shame because if there was no one to eat, I just fed them and then we had breakfast together. sir did not ask me anything else regarding his son. I feel like they don't care what I do, as long as it's up to me to take care of and watch over the child.

"Can't I go to the boy's room? What time is it? Isn't that breakfast?" I asked Kuya Baste who laughed. He gulped down his cup of coffee and took another bite of rice.

"Oh, Seia. I'm the one who's telling you," he said, causing me to give him a questioning look. "Don't wake that boy up. Let him come down here on his own."

I left with a sigh. "But what time is it? It's not right that he will wake up whenever he wants. He will be hungry."

"It's up to you," Kuya Baste shrugged his shoulders in the end and didn't say anything.

I am currently going up to the second floor to go to Lily's room. They say that it's really noon when you wake up, especially if you don't have school and often don't have breakfast. I'm already wearing my uniform and I just finished breakfast. I stopped in front of the door when I reached her room. I was hesitant at first but decided to pull the knob eventually. Surprisingly, it was unlocked. My lips pursed as I slowly pushed the door which made a low creepy squeak on the floor.

"Lily?" I whispered and tried to peek inside her room. it was dark and I couldn't clearly see the entire room. I took a deep breath and slowly stepped on the floor. "Lily—ah!"

I couldn't stop screaming when I fell to the floor because of the slip.

"Hahahahaha!" The child's giggles immediately erupted from the four corners of the room. I caught my own hip and looked at the young woman who was now standing on her bed while jumping for joy. "Hahahaha! You're so lame! Hahahaha!"

"Aw! Lily?" I winced at the wind. I don't know, but I think I fell worse because of the slippery floor. When I tried to take a look at what was stepped on, I saw watercolors scattered on the floor. "What's this? Did you do this, Lily?"

"Yes! Yes! I did that! hahaha." he laughed teasingly before jumping off his bed. "Are you my new babysitter?"

I held my hip as I tried to sit down on the floor. I glared at him.

"Why did you do that? It's bad!" I'm sorry but the kid seems to be used to it and doesn't go through such things anymore.

"Isn't it also bad to enter my room without even knocking?" she asked me back which made my lips purse. Oh yeah, this one has a very sharp tongue.

"W-what?!" I snorted but it just laughed again before looking at me.

"I don't like you! So stay away from me!" she shouted on my face.

"Oh! Seia? Lily? What happened here?" Kuya Baste opened and immediately joined me on the floor. the boy didn't say anything more then quickly ran out of his room.

"Are you really all right?" Kuya Baste asked after I drank the medicine for the pain in my hip. It doesn't hurt anymore and it seems that the medicine got it right away.

"It's fine, brother," I answered, trying to smile even though I was almost hysterical because of what happened.

Lily is now in the garden playing. I just finished cleaning the first floor and am currently putting the laundry out. Kuya Baste said that Sir Jax would rather do laundry than do the laundry himself so that he can reduce the work. I walk to the storage room where the dirty clothes are stacked. I caught a glimpse of Lily in the garden when I passed by.

"Lily!" I yelled at her. The boy turned to me but immediately glared at me. "What do you want to eat for lunch?"

"Don't talk to me!" she shouted back.

I took a deep breath and finally shook my head. I went straight to the storage area carrying the basket of clothes and did not bother the child there. At noon I thought of cooking for our lunch. They have stocks in the fridge so I cooked whatever was there.

"Are you cooking lunch?" asked Kuya Baste who seemed to be just going around the hospital going back and forth.

"Yes," I answered with a smile.

"Isn't your hip aching anymore? Just be patient kid. Don't worry I'll just tell Sir Jax what happened today—"

"Oh! don't stop, brother," I interrupted. I shook my head then smiled at him. "It's okay, just don't tell Sir Jax what the boy did."

"Huh? Are you sure?" This was a strange question that I quickly answered. The child might be scolded and resent me even more. maybe next time he won't just do that by chance.

"Hey!"

Almost at the same time, we looked at Lily who was now about to enter the entrance.

"Lily," Kuya Baste greeted her with a smile. "Seia is cooking lunch."

"I don't care. I wanna eat outside."

My jaw literally dropped because of what I heard. Lord, give me more patience! In the end that's exactly what happened. Lily and I ate outside but before that I called Sir Jax because that was his order. I still don't know what it should and shouldn't eat.

"Ah, sir, Lily wants to eat outside," I said while talking to Sir Jax on the phone. We are already in the car and are about to drive to the restaurant where he and his daddy often eat.

the bvngal boy's art is also good!

[You can talk to Sebastian, he knows the place.]

CHAPTER 1.1 | Don't Test My Patience

"Yes, sir. We're going there now," I said, glancing at the quiet boy behind. she was holding a rabbit stuffed toy and she's roaming her eyes outside the car like a curious cat. "Is there anything Lily shouldn't eat?"

[She can eat anything except peanuts. She's allergic to peanuts.]

"Okay sir, it's noted on the peanut."

for a moment there was silence between us. At first I thought he had hung up and was about to hang up on mine when I heard him speak again.

[Can you give the phone to my daughter, please?]

"O-oh, opo, sir. Wait," I murmured and glanced at Lily from the back. It looked at me quickly. "Your daddy wants to talk to you."

Lily took the phone from me then rolled her eyes. "Daddy?"

I didn't hear what Sir Jax said next because the phone didn't have a loud speaker and only the two of them could hear each other. I can only see him frowning at me when we look at each other in the rearview mirror.

"No, daddy! I'm being a good girl," I heard the child say, snorting. I wanted to laugh but I stopped myself. "Yes, daddy. I love you too."

it was late when we finally got home because Lily invited us to go to the funhouse after we ate lunch. When I got home, I just heated up the dish I cooked earlier this afternoon for our dinner today.

I was currently preparing the table when I saw the boy in the living room watching cartoons. I can't help but smile while watching her. Even if she's being so mean to me, I still find her very cute.

i was fixing the plates on the table when i suddenly heard a consecutive horns from the car outside. I was still holding the cutlery when I walked out of the dining room.

"It's Daddy!" Lily jumped when she heard that too and quickly ran to the entrance to meet her father. I just watched as Sir Jax entered inside and then quickly loaded the son.

"Daddy! I miss you!" Lily uttered as she clung her arms to her father.

Sir Jax kissed her daughter and smiled. "I miss you more, my baby."

"Daddy, have you bought the toys I was talking about earlier?" I heard her ask. I left and walked to the dining room again to continue what I had been doing earlier.

I was placing the glass on the table when I started hearing footsteps from somewhere. I shrugged and continued what I was doing until I heard Kuya Baste's voice.

"Sir Jax," I heard Kuya Baste say to the man who had just arrived.

"Where's the babysitter?" he asked which made me swallow hard. Why is he looking for me? I was nervous thinking that the boy might have reported something to his daddy.

"It's in the dining room, sir."

I went outside the dining room to see Sir Jax. He was still carrying Lily when our eyes met.

"Hi, sir. Good evening," I greeted him then smiled sincerely but that's the shape of his face because he didn't even manage to smile back. "I have prepared dinner."

He is very hard to please!

He gently put the boy down before slightly loosening the tie around his neck. The veins in his arms protruded when he tried to lose his tie. My mind and soul argued for a moment so I immediately looked down.

"I'll just change my clothes," he answered as he glanced at his daughter and kissed her hair. "You eat first, baby. Daddy will just take a quick bath okay?"

"Okay daddy!"

Lily didn't act anymore and willingly followed what I told her. I don't know if it's because his daddy is already there or if the boy is really just teasing.

"Eat vegetables. It'll improve your attitude," I whispered as I said the last words while putting the cooked vegetables on the child's plate.

"I don't care.I don't eat carrots," he said emphatically before setting aside the carrots I put on his plate.

"Eat that. It's healthy."

"I don't eat carrots right?!" This artful answer made me bite my lower lip. I took a deep breath before forcing myself to smile at the demon boy.

"Why not eat carrots? It's healthy." I hesitated to say this, calmer and forced to smile sweetly. Hey, kid. I'm trying my best to be considerate here. Don't test my patience. "Most of your toys are rabbits right? Don't you know that they eat carrots?"

"It's okay," a baritone voice suddenly interjected from the side. I almost jumped when I realized that Sir Jax was already there and standing on the side. I was immediately nervous because he might think I was forcing the child to feed even though he didn't want to.

I zipped my lips and gulped. I distance myself a little from them. He was wearing a plain white shirt and pants. His hair was a bit disheveled again. it looks like she just finished blowdrying her hair and didn't even bother combing it.

"U-Uh, I'm sorry, sir."

"She doesn't really eat carrots so it's okay," said Sir Jax before pulling out a chair next to his son to sit there. I moved quickly to take care of it. I saw him look at his son again afterwards. "Why are you frowning now, baby? Do you wanna eat something else?"

I saw how Lily's muzzle lengthened as she stared at her plate.

The kid slowly turned her gaze to her father. "Daddy, is it true?"

Sir Jax looked at his daughter, confused. "Huh?"

"Do rabbits eat carrots?" she asked cutely. My eyes widened as I looked in their direction. Oh, f^tay! Maybe what the boy will report to him.

"Y-yes they do eat carrots," Sir Jax answered his daughter with furrowed brows.

"Daddy, if they eat carrots then Lily should also eat carrots."

Sir Jax was unable to speak immediately and even I was unable to react immediately to what I heard. i saw how his lips protruded like he was trying to process what he had heard from his daughter.

"Really?"

"Yes, daddy," Lily pouted her lips. "I love rabbits, and if I don't eat carrots they'd dislike me. I'll eat carrots from now on."

Sir Jax drew a lazy chuckle and kissed his daughter on her cheeks. "Okay then, let's eat carrots together."

I bit my lower lip as I watched them amusingly. I almost got a heart attack thinking that she'd say bad things against me in front of him. it's good and it looks like the saints heard my prayer. I sighed in relief. Sir Jax and I looked at each other but he didn't speak
