In order to pay for the treatment of his younger brother who had an accident, Kiara has to enter a contract marriage with the CEO at her place of work. Meanwhile, the CEO needs Kiara to be a replacement bride because his fiancé ran away. "Even though this is just a contract marriage, I will still be responsible for you." CEOs realize that marriage is not a game. He remains fully responsible for Kiara. Their relationship feels sweet, until problem after problem occurs. Their relationship is strained because of Rindu's presence, Kiara's sister turns out to be the CEO's ex-fiancé who ran away. "It turns out it's true, you are just as cunning as your sister!" The love that grew between them was destroyed because of a misunderstanding. The CEO kicked Kiara out the day after the woman gave birth. Then, what will happen next? Read the excitement of the story....
A twenty-three-year-old woman was seen running down the hospital corridor. Her face was panicked, signaling that something bad had happened. She was running towards an ICU room, where someone precious to her was fighting for her life.
"Kiara, have you come?" The old woman stood up, welcoming her first daughter.
"Mom, what happened to Rindu? Why is she in the ICU?" asked Kiara, breathlessly.
"Your sister had an accident on the way to the airport. I don't know what the story is. But, according to the police, there was a car that hit another car and Rindu's car was in between."
"Like a chain reaction accident, is that it?" Kiara asked again.
"Yes, like that."
"Then, what is her condition now? Is --"
Kiara's speech was interrupted when the door to the ICU room opened. A female doctor came out with her gloves off.
"The patient's condition is getting worse. The wound on his head has caused damage, so it must be treated immediately. If not, the chances of him surviving are very small," said the doctor.
"Doc, is there no other way other than surgery? It costs a lot of money and we don't have it," said Jamila, Kiara and Rindu's mother.
"You can't, ma'am. Surgery must be performed if you want the patient to survive. However, if you are worried about the cost, you can consult the administration, perhaps you can use health insurance or the like." The doctor explained the requirements for free medical treatment. The chances of getting full coverage are very slim. Apart from the high cost, the hospital was also not a regional public hospital.
"But we don't have health insurance. What about this?" Jamila complained.
"For that matter, you can consider with other families."
Kiara scooped her face roughly. She then turned to her mother, looking at the middle-aged woman with eyes full of sadness.
"What about this? I don't have that much savings, kiddo. Even if we sell the house, we won't get the money," Jamila said.
"How much will it cost, Mom? Is it very expensive?" asked Kiara.
"One hundred thousand dollars."
Kiara's body immediately fell with a lurch, after hearing the amount her mother had said.
One hundred thousand? It was not an easy matter to find that much money. Especially, with her background as an office girl in one of the giant companies in the city.
Her salary was not much and was only enough to pay for the rent she lived in, as well as her daily meals. In fact, the food she consumes is not fancy food, but simple food that is as it is.
"Where can we get that much money, ma'am? That's a lot of money. In fact, I probably wouldn't have gotten the money even if I had worked my whole life."
Jamila shook her head, "I don't know where we will get that much money either."
The two women cried as they hugged each other, lamenting the bad luck that kept befalling them one after another.
"How about just selling our house? Wouldn't we be able to get the money or maybe more from the sale?"
Kiara immediately shook her head. "No, I don't. I don't agree if you have to sell the house. Our house is the only valuable thing we have."
"Then where should we get the money from? At least we can pay the down payment for the surgery first, the rest we can look elsewhere. I'll also try to get help from your uncles and aunts," Jamila said.
"Mom, if the house is sold, where will you live?"
Jamila paused, realizing that she would have no place to go if the house was sold. The mother of two cried her eyes out, imagining what would become of Rindu. The horrible thought that she would be carrying her daughter's body, was a horrible thought.
"Mom doesn't want to lose Rindu. So, what should we do now?"
For a moment, Kiara was silent and thoughtful. Did she have any chance of getting a hundred thousand, overnight? Would she have to apply for a loan from a bank, or a company? She who only worked as an office girl, would it be possible to get the trust to apply for such a large loan?
"Mom, I'll try to apply for a loan from the company. Perhaps, they will be kind enough to give me the loan."
"Are you sure, Kiara?" asked Jamila doubtfully.
"There's no harm in trying. Kiara will try to apply for the loan, so that Rindu can have the surgery as soon as possible."
