Chapter 1 1

Amelia's POV

I looked out of my apartment window, my fingers tracing the strokes of the painting I had just completed. The soft hues of the sunset danced across the my shop, I know l have a talent, but talent alone didn't pay my bills.

I sunk onto the worn-out couch, my eyes landed on the overdue bills on my table. The weight of my financial struggles pressed on my shoulders. I picked up the latest notice from the landlord, the red font demanding I pay my bills. I had nothing to give.

I was Desperate and searching for a way out of this mess. That's when my mind drifted to the conversation I overheard at the art gallery last week. A group of women had been talking about a mysterious billionaire who was looking for a contract marriage. It sounded ludicrous, but the prospect of quick cash was tempting to me.

I shook my head, trying to push the idea out of my mind. I was a bit romantic at heart, and the thought of marrying a stranger for money went against everything I believed in. But as the days passed and my financial situation grew worst, the idea began to take root in my mind.

"Amelia you have to shallow your pride and look after this Billionaire mogul for the contract marriage, my thoughts just pinch me on the ideas of becoming a contract marriage bride to a Billionaire.

The next morning, I closed my my shop to visit the Billionaire's Enterprise. I have to get myself prepared for the embarrassment and insults o will get on my way to get a contract marriage from the Billionaire.

Before I knew what I was thinking, I found myself standing in front of the entrance of a Knight Enterprises. The towering skyscraper rising high above the city streets.

I took a deep breath, trying to steel my nerves as I entered the glass doors and made my way to the reception desk.

"Can I help you?"

The receptionist asked, as her perfectly nails clicking against the keyboard of her computer.

"I'm here to see Mr. William Knight," I said in a deep voice.

The receptionist's face looked me in recognition.

"Do you have an appointment?" She asked.

I hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to answer.

"I...I'm here about the contract marriage," I blurted out, my face flushed with embarrassment.

The receptionist's expression softened as I motioned, and asked me to take a seat in the plush waiting area. Moments later, a tall, handsome, good looking man emerged from the hallway, his piercing blue eyes locking onto mine.

"Miss Barnes, I assume?" he asked, with a cool voice and strong commanding. I nodded.

"Yes, that's me."

The man extended his hand, to shake mine, his touch sending an electrifying spark through my veins.

"I'm William Knight, he said."

"Please follow me."

I followed him behind, as he led me through a corridors, and into a conference room. The room was bright in sunlight, the view of the city stretching out before us. William offered me a sit, he looked at me as he took a seat across me.

"I understand you're here about the contract marriage," William stated, his tone was businesslike.

I breath in nervously.

"Yes, I...I'm in need of financial assistance, and I heard about your proposal. I know it's unconventional, but I'm willing to consider it."

William studied her for a moment, his eyes filled with calculation.

"Tell me about yourself, Miss Barnes. Why should I choose you as my contract bride?"

I took a deep breath again, summoning the courage to speak the truth.

I shared my passion for art, I struggled to make ends meet, and I'm determined to succeed. As I spoke, I saw something in his eyes, was it understanding? Compassion?

After a moment of silence, he leaned back in his chair.

"I'll have my lawyer draw up the contract. We'll discuss the terms at a later date. Until then, consider yourself part of this Knight family."

My heart pounded in my chest as I processed his words. I had just agreed to enter into a contract marriage with a billionaire, a man I barely knew but whose presence stirred something deep within me. As I left Knight Enterprises that day, I couldn't shake the feeling that my life was about to change in ways I never could have imagined...

"I was terrified by the prospect of what will come next."
