Calista Whitaker and Dorian Blackwood were childhood sweethearts, engaged for a long time. But just when the crucial moment approached, an unexpected twist occurred- On the day of the engagement, Dorian's affair was unexpectedly exposed. While the marriage alliance between the two families hung in the balance, a weary yet striking man appeared, his gaze both proud and leisurely, skimming over their clasped hands. Alpha Zephyr introduced him flamboyantly as another son of his. Despite his youth, he had already taken control early on and now held the lifeblood of the Blue Moon pack in his hands. As Dorian scrambled for an opportunity to explain, news of the broken engagement spread across the city, yet no one knew that Eamon Blackwood had secretly arranged a meeting with Calista. The man casually tossed her a tempting proposition: "Miss Whitaker, would you mind if the groom were to change?" -Would you like to turn this half-baked victory into a guaranteed triumph and become my accomplice?

Chapter 1 I don't know. She looks unfamiliar.

Lilamei Town,

The days of continuous snowfall had finally come to an end.

Calista Whitaker had been stuck on this part of the storyline for days, with her supervisor constantly pushing her, leaving little time to make revisions. Her nerves were taut.

She spent half a day discussing with Director Everly, finally finding a shared direction, and dove back into her revisions.

When her assistant brought in coffee, she was still hard at work.

Sunlight poured through the large window, bathing her figure in a peaceful glow.

She typed on the keyboard, her focus entirely on the computer screen, revealing only the soft curve of her pale neck. Her lashes lowered slightly, and her face in profile caught the warm light, highlighting her delicate features like snow lingering on branches.

It was hard to imagine that someone as petite as her could craft such a thrilling storyline.

If her assistant hadn't witnessed her work firsthand, she might not have believed it.

The assistant quietly placed the coffee next to her-ordered just how Calista liked it.

As Calista typed, her phone suddenly chimed. She picked it up and saw a Telegram message from Dorian Blackwood.

For some reason, the young master of the Blackwood family seemed unusually free today. She tapped into Telegram, and his message appeared before her.

**Dorian:** *"[Are you home?]"*

Calista replied that she wasn't.

**Dorian** frowned and said, *"[My parents are already at your house.]"*

Today, with the rare pleasant weather, Alpha Zephyr brought Luna Lauren to the Whitaker residence. The families had a close relationship, so visits were common; the only issue was that he hadn't joined them.

Calista replied with a simple *"Okay,"* indicating she knew, and added, *"[I'll be back later.]"*

**Dorian:** *"[Alright.]"*

Possibly out of laziness, he sent a voice message instead. Her finger tapped play, and his lively laughter filled her ear: *"There's a new bar here that's super fun. Do you want to come?"*

In the recording, she could hear chaotic background noise-music and even the voices of other women. Oblivious, he enthusiastically invited her, making it clear how much fun the Blackwood young master was having.

He'd always been a partier, ever since they were young, and hadn't changed at all. Calista was used to it. But now, he was no longer an 18-year-old boy; he was 30.

Calista declined: *"[Go have fun on your own.]"*

They had been friends since childhood, growing up as a pair of close-knit childhood sweethearts. But unlike other friendships, they had a marriage agreement.

This engagement had been arranged by their families. At the time, it was fashionable to make marriage promises, and their grandfathers, being close friends, had made this agreement to symbolize their bond.

Though they never spoke of it aloud, they both remembered it well.

It was as if they were waiting for time to pass until, one day, a bell would ring, and they'd fulfill the engagement.

Recently, both families had started discussing the matter. The Blue Moon pack's visit to the Whitaker household today was certainly related to this.

It was time to discuss marriage.

But Calista knew that he never really cared about it.

Dorian replied with a sticker of a dog lying flat with the words *"Alright,"* as if unsurprised by her refusal. Their social circles were somewhat different; hers was much quieter, while he actively updated his social media.

Just before the end of the workday, Calista finally resolved the problematic part of her plot.

Her assistant was overjoyed, taking the stamped documents with her as she left.

Calista gathered her things, and after organizing the documents, realized she was missing a part. She searched again, and when she couldn't find it, decided to head downstairs to retrieve a copy from the relevant department.

It was no big deal.

After printing the document, as she left the office, someone called out, *"Hey, you, come over here for a minute."*

At first, Calista didn't realize they were calling her. Only when they mentioned her clothing color did she glance down, hesitate, and turn around.

*"Yes, you. Come here and print ten copies of these documents."*

When the woman saw her face, she was momentarily stunned but still shoved the papers into Calista's hands, mistaking her for an intern.

Calista wore a simple white wool coat, her black hair tied neatly, giving her a humble, understated look that didn't quite match the fashion-conscious crowd. This woman instinctively looked down on her, her mood affecting her tone.

*"What are you standing around for? Get to it. Bring them back when you're done; I have more to compare."* The woman said impatiently.

Calista frowned slightly but hadn't yet responded when her assistant rushed over like she had rockets on her feet. *"Miss, what are you doing here? Director Everly is looking for you."*

The assistant glanced at the woman standing in front of Calista, her brows furrowing.

Calista handed the documents back to the woman with curly hair. *"Sorry, I'm busy."*

She left the floor without another word.

The curly-haired woman was taken aback, her fingers tightening around the documents. She quickly asked a nearby coworker, *"Do you know her? Who is she?"*

The coworker glanced briefly and shook their head, *"I don't know. She looks unfamiliar."*

The curly-haired woman racked her memory but couldn't think of any connection. She knew all the prominent figures in the company, and this woman wasn't one of them.

Still, for some reason, she felt a nagging sense of unease. Especially after the assistant's respectful appearance... If she weren't someone important, why would the assistant treat her so reverently?

The curly-haired woman muttered to herself.

Her coworker wasn't nearly as concerned, pulling her back, *"Don't think too much. She's probably not anyone important."*

After all, if she were someone significant, why would she dress so simply? She had checked carefully and hadn't noticed any designer brands.

Reassured by her coworker, the curly-haired woman sighed in relief, *"Good. It'd be bad if I accidentally offended someone I shouldn't."*
