Chapter 1 Charter 1:Priscilla White

Harman Crown stood with his back rested on the wall. Laughing with his eyes wide open and his hand placed over his stomach. His laughter was so loud....it pierced through everything in the room, not leaving Priscilla's ears behind.

Priscilla's White's eyes were wide open. Her eyes were reddened and her face was stiffened. Her eyes were fixed on the man standing before her who laughed like his life depended on it.

Suddenly, the laugh stopped. The luxurious white room was pin drop silent.

Harman's eyes shifted towards Priscilla. The laughter on his face faded away, leaving his face colorless and emotionless.

"You really expect me to accept that bastard as my own?" Harman asked with his hands folded and his brows creased. His hardened face was beginning to fall apart as his eyes were welled up with tears.

"Do not call my son a bastard!" Priscilla screamed.

Harman scoffed. He sat on the tile and he took a while to laugh at himself. "Damn, I have been such a fool," he mouthed with a chuckle.

"I have been a fool," he repeated.

"You just have to listen to me, Harman. All of this isn't as hard as you make it look," Priscilla said.

Her voice was sharp and her eyes held nothin but carelessness.

"It's not hard?" Harman asked and he raised his head. "What do you mean by saying it's not hard!" Harman suddenly yelled, making Priscilla flinch.

"Every single thing, right from the day I met you has been hard. Every single thing about you, Priscilla has been hard!" Harman yelled.

"I gave you everything, Harman. It seems like you have forgotten and now I am going to remind you. I made you all that you are today. I gave you the job. I gave your wretched family a house to live in!" Priscilla screamed and the tears Harman thought he could hold rolled down his cheeks.

"And is that why you have chosen to treat me like I am an puppet? Yes, you gave me all that I have, Priscilla but you are only making things worse for me!" Harman yelled and he stood on his feet. He walked towards Priscilla and he continued.

"I thought everything was going to be good with you, Priscilla. But I was wrong. I left everything behind because of you. I am living in your family's house with you, Priscilla even though I am the man! Does that sound normal to you!" Harman seethed.

Priscilla sighed. She rolled her eyes and sucked her teeth. She wasn't bothered and she didn't care that she was making it so obvious. "I told you right before we got married, Harman that I cannot live in that rathole you call a house. I was raised with wealth, Harman," Priscilla reminded.

"And what's your excuse for not taking my name? Why are you still using your father's first name even though you're married to me!" Harman yelled.

"I want to keep the name. I see no reason I should be explaining myself to you," Priscilla answered.

"So is that why you chose to get pregnant for another man? Is that why you cheated on me, Priscilla! Is that why you lied to me! All my life! For ten good years I thought Chris is my son!" Harman cried like a child. Falling to the ground with fear and hurt in his eyes.

Priscilla's voice sounded as calm as ever. "This is what I was trying to avoid," she said and she sighed. "I know you would throw and tantrum and yell your lungs out and that's why I hid it from you the whole time," she answered.

"Where is your shame, Priscilla? Tell me, why are you so shameless! Are you even a woman!" Harman yelled.

After those words rolled off Harman's tongue, Priscilla laughed. "My shame? That's a very good question, Harman. My shame left the moment that I got married to someone as worthless as you are. I am wealthy and beautiful. I could have married someone better but I chose you because I know you would be humble, Harman," Priscilla answered as she walked towards the dressing mirror.

"I need a divorce, Priscilla," Harman requested.

Priscilla picked her up her dark red lipstick as she stared at herself in the mirror. She smiled at the sight of her dark hair and her blue siren eyes.

"And why?" She asked. Her voice was calm but precise.

"Are you really asking me why, Priscilla! This isn't a happy home! There is nothing to be worried about!" Harman cried and Priscilla smiled.

"We have a very happy home, Harman. We live in a beautiful mansion built by my parents. We have a son ...the son can be mine if you don't want it. You have a very beautiful wife. So tell me. What else?" Priscilla asked.

"I'll tell everyone that you're nothing like the rest of your family! I'll tell everyone that you're a devil! I'll tell everyone how you have treated me... I'll tell them you're a cheat and a......" Harman yelled and before he could say anything else, Priscilla threw a small makeup box at him.

"Shut up!" She screamed. She sighed and arranged her hair. Her voice went calm. "I don't want to raise my voice Harman so don't make me. I don't like to get worked up and you know. I am very patient but you're always making me raise my voice. You know what, if you want a divorce, go ahead. But be reminded, Harman that my family runs more than half of the city and no one is going to believe anything that comes out of the mouth of a nameless man like you," Priscilla said.

Harman was silent. His fists were tightened and his eyes were fixed on the woman he married.

"You can go ahead and do what you want. You'll be the one to lose. I promise you that, Harman. But I know that you wouldn't be foolish enough to ruin your own life," she said and she walked towards him. "Let's put all of that behind us and focus on what's ahead. You are a leach. You can't live without me so please, don't stress me. Get dressed and join us at the table. Put a smile on that haggard face of yours and get yourself down stairs. You wouldn't want to lose your place as mom's favourite son in-law. You have five minutes," Priscilla said.

She tapped his shoulder and slammed the door behind her. "Be fast hunny!" Priscilla screamed from the other side of the door.
