"Congratulations my dear sister, you're officially married to that bastard Cole."
"Sashy! Watch your mouth. Cole's in the bathroom."
Sashy sneaked into her sister's bridal chamber and chuckled softly. She hugged her sister who was being retouched by one of the best makeup artists in their town for the after-party in Cole's hotel backyard.
"You look so beautiful today, Shelly. I am jealous of you."
"Let go of me, Sashy! You are disturbing Ms. Hans. She's doing my make-up."
Shelly shoved Sashy away and removed a heavy hand from her shoulder. She saw her reflection in the mirror and her sister's face. They both looked similar, but they had a distinct aura. Shelly is a gentle feminine and always friendly to everyone. The type of woman who can pretend to like something she doesn't like for the sake of someone else's happiness. Meanwhile, Sashy has a classic beauty and a sweet smile with a rebellious side that sometimes irritates people. She will not sacrifice herself for the happiness of others. That is her principle. Sashy prefers to be honest, outspoken, and as it is.
"I was just admiring her handiwork up close. You are unbelievably beautiful. The white dress suits you. You are the most beautiful bride I have ever seen in the world."
"Thanks to you for creating this amazing dress."
"I did it, especially for you. And only for you."
Shelly snorted. Only at certain moments, Sashy issued sweet words. Shelly was so familiar with her sister's behavior that she didn't believe in the bullshit and ignored it.
"You are beautiful too. This body-fitting pink dress with a halter collar is perfect for you. You look sexy tonight." Shelly blinked one eye through the mirror while looking at the reflection of Sashy's blushing face.
"Do you intend to attract Cooper Anderson's attention?"
"I wish I could dance with him."
"Wow, I will help you later."
Sashy groaned softly. She covered her face with her palms because she was too embarrassed.
"I've had a crush on him since I was eight. When he moved to Minnesota to attend college, I was so heartbroken. He rarely came back here. But today he came back especially to attend your wedding. My heart was pounding really hard when I met him earlier. He's getting handsome! Cooper Anderson is so charming with a smile that can melt my heart."
The sisters shouted loudly and became excited about the hot topic they were talking about. The makeup artist understood their noise and kept working on applying red lipgloss to Shelly's lips. It will make the bride's lips look fuller, sexier, and more lustrous tonight.
"You're done, Ms. Hans?" Shelly turned her attention to Ms. Hans who had just cleaned up her make-up kit.
Meanwhile, Sashy was still waiting patiently to continue her conversation with her sister. It feels embarrassing to talk about a man in front of other people who are not related to her in any way.
"I am done. You and your husband can go out to greet your friends and your guests."
"Thank you very much, Ms. Hans. Your makeup is so amazing. I like it."
"You're welcome. Glad to be part of your special day. May you and your husband always be blessed with happiness."
They exchanged kisses on the cheek and hugs. Ms. Hans gave a brief nod to Sashy as she walked past her clutching a box of makeup tools to her chest.
"You are unbelievably beautiful, my dear sister."
"Hngg... you're just diverting the topic, right? What about Cooper?"
Shelly raised and lowered her eyebrows seductively. Shelly knows that Sashy has a crush on one of her best friends. She remembered that Sashy had cried and locked herself in her room for three days because Cooper had moved to Minnesota to continue his studies. At that time Sashy was twelve and Cooper eighteen. Shelly had laughed at her sister for liking a man who was six years older than her. But Sashy doesn't care and still has a crush on Cooper.
"Ahh... he's so handsome. You see those big muscles. I melted. My body trembles imagining being hugged by his strong arms."
"Gosh, you're so naughty. Don't get your hopes up on Cooper. He probably had a girlfriend while in Minnesota."
"Dunno. I'm just trying my luck. But Cooper isn't a player like Flynn," Sashy snorted.
She had hated Flynn from the first time they met at Cole's house. Flynn is a jerk, slightly handsome, and annoying. Flynn has always teased her in the past and made her cry. Flynn once put frogs in her bag, even though he knew that she really hated frogs. She was crying hysterically because the frog jumped into her hand when she was going to put her drawing tools. From then on she hated Flynn and vowed never to get involved with him again.
"Speaking of the guy, he came to the church with a different woman than the one he introduced me and Cole to last week. Isn't he very popular?"
"That's not popular!" Sashy exclaimed in exasperation. "He's an asshole. You seem to be defending his actions. Remember, Flynn pushed Cole to cheat on you once."
"Hey, he didn't push me. He just gave me advice. Which I immediately rejected on the spot."
Her brother-in-law emerged from the doorway with a big grin on his face. He wasn't angry at Sashy's harsh words, he quite understood his sister-in-law's hatred toward his best friend and cousin.
"He was just kidding that time. You're taking it too seriously."
"I still don't agree. He's a bad influence on you. Why are you still in touch with him?"
Cole and Shelly exchanged glances, amused by Sashy's words.
"Flynn is his cousin. How is Cole going to stay away from him?"
"Just don't get close to that jerk. Stay away from him. I will not forgive you if you hurt my dear sister."
Cole walked over to his wife and hugged her shoulder tenderly.
"I won't. I love Shelly. I have sworn before God to always love her and take care of her."
How jealous she was of her sister's luck. Shelly is beautiful, smart, and has a husband who loves her very much. Shelly has never felt any kind of heartbreak or sadness because of a man. In contrast to her, who had never been successful in a relationship with any man. She thinks some of the men she's close to aren't as good as Cole. They are too selfish, too perverted, and too arrogant. She really can't stand toxic men who only take advantage of her wealth or her generosity.
"I trust you. You've proven it over the years. I envy you guys. Really," Sashy placed a palm on her chest.
"When the time comes, you will find the right man for you," Shelly said wisely.
"Hopefully. But I won't expect too much shortly," Sashy shrugged nonchalantly and walked out of the newlywed's room.
