About He Doesn't Care This series contains how a young boy and a girl in their early 20s met in college. The boy (Joe) who is in the same lecture room has been stalking Abigail since his first day of seeing Abigail with his friend Mike since then things turned for them
Screech, screech! The sound of the car grew louder. "Mph!" Abigail felt herself becoming dizzy as she opened and closed her eyes in pain. A memory suddenly flashed in her mind: "Dad... Mom." she called out amidst the pain, her voice fading away.
When she realized, she found herself in a hospital bed. Her memories were hazy, but she recalled that her dad was driving, and they were singing happily on their way to a vacation with her mom. Then, a car had overtaken them....
Abigail quickly sat up and tried to get out of bed, determined to find her parents. However, the nurse in charge stopped her.
"Where's my mom?" Abigail asked, her voice laced with concern.
"Your mom is being treated, and she'll be fine," the nurse assured her.
But when Abigail asked about her dad, the nurse's expression turned somber. Abigail knew the answer even before the nurse could respond. She felt a wave of grief wash over her, and she collapsed to the floor, wailing in despair.
Abigail had just been admitted to high school and was sitting on the couch beside her mother, Sarah. Sarah gazed intently at her daughter, her eyes filled with a mix of happiness and sadness. She knew that Abigail would soon be leaving for college.
"I'm so happy for you, but I'm going to miss you, my baby," Sarah said, her voice trembling.
Abigail's eyes welled up with tears as she hugged her mother tightly. "I love you, Mom!" she exclaimed.
Sarah smiled, wiping away her tears. "Your dad would have been proud of you," she said.
Abigail's father had passed away when she was nine, leaving her in the loving care of her mother. Abigail tried to distract her mother from her sadness. "Mom, I'm hungry," she said with a bright smile.
Sarah nodded, getting up to prepare a sandwich for Abigail. As Abigail waited, she thought about her upcoming college experience. She pondered making new friends and adjusting to a new environment.
Abigail's thoughts turned to her best friend, Pearl. They had been inseparable since kindergarten, but Pearl's parents had chosen a different college for her. Abigail picked up her phone and called Pearl.
As soon as the call connected, Pearl said, "Best friends stay strong together." It was their slogan since high school.
Abigail smiled, feeling a sense of comfort. "I'm going to miss you so much," she said, her voice filled with emotion.
Pearl reassured her, "You'll be fine, Abigail. You're strong and capable."
