Sharon found herself torn between love and betrayal in an unbeaten love. Betrayed by her man, he got his ex-girlfriend pregnant. Devastated, she was sent to prison, on an offense she knows nothing about, carrying a secret that could change everything. But when fate offers Sharon a second chance at love, will she embrace the opportunity to rewrite her destiny?
" Evans, what is this news that I'm hearing?" Sharon asked anxiously as she stormed into Evans's room.
" Sharon, I'm as surprised as you," Evans said as he quickly stood up from his bed.
" Surprise? Surprise you, say Evans, are you trying to tell me that you didn't have sex with her after you both broke up?" Sharon asked, looking upset.
" Sharon, I know I messed up, but it was just once. It was just one silly night of drunkenness, and I'm sorry," Evans said, trying to hold her hands, but she was restricted.
" Wow! So you had sex with her. You cheated on me with your ex? I thought you said you were done with her; you told me I was the one for you, yet you went back to her behind my back?" Sharon said as tears rolled down her cheeks.
" Sharon, I'm sorry. I know I hurt you, and I take full responsibility for my actions, but believe me, I didn't plan all of these." Evans said, pacing.
" So, she planned it? Is that what you're trying to tell me?" Sharon asked tearfully.
" I don't know," Evans said, almost tearing up.
" Oh my gosh! First, I have to deal with your family's hatred towards me because I'm a maid, and they suspect we're an item. The only reason I've not been sacked is because you, you warned your mum not to fire me. If not, I would have been long gone, a long time ago. Now, you just impregnated your ex-girlfriend, how do you expect me to cope with that? How?" Sharon yelled.
" Sharon, calm down. We can find a way around this." Evans said, holding her by her arms.
" Find a way around what?" She flared up, pushing him away.
" Sharon!" He called softly.
He was shocked, he hadn't seen her that aggressive before.
" Don't call my name, you cheat! I should have known that a leopard can never change its spot. What was I expecting from someone who treated all the workers around him like filth? I should have known that there was no way you would end up with a maid, I should have known." She said, she sat on the floor and began to cry profusely.
" No Sharon, don't say that. I love you, I meant it when I said I'm in love with you. What would I gain from lying and deceiving an innocent lady like you?" He said, kneeling before her.
" You lying bastard! You would have gained joy and happiness because that's what you derive from hurting people. You find so much joy in making people cry; I'm sure you've lost count of the number of people that you've hurt with your pride and arrogance, whand'm also one of them." She said firmly.
" Why are you judging me by my past? I have grown past that, and there's no going back, and you know it. Stop hurting me by bringing back my past, stop!" He yelled, sobbing.
" I won't stop because that's still who you are." She said at the top of her voice.
" That's not who I am anymore, I'm a changed man!" He yelled.
" You're not a changed man, I blame myself for believing in love with you," Sharon said, wiping away her tears.
She stood up, and looked around the room, trying so hard to hold back her tears, she nodded and smiled
" What's about to happen?" Evans thought as he stood on his feet.
" You have to choose between Carolina and me because I'm sure you don't expect me to continue working here for you and your baby mama," Sharon said, almost tearing up.
" No, I don't. I will never disrespect you like that; I love you, Sharon; you are the one I want, not her." Evans said softly.
" You should have thought about that before having sex with her." She yelled.
" I was drunk," Evans said, looking frustrated.
" And why didn't you tell me you had sex with your ex-girlfriend by mistake? You should have told me if you were truly sorry after realizing what you did, but no, you kept it to yourself because you enjoyed it." She said tearfully, hitting him in the chest.
" I'm sorry, Sharon; if I had known, I would have opened up to you, but I guess I was scared of hurting your feelings; I'm sorry." Evans pleaded.
" Shut up! The deed has been done; it's left for you to make your decision; I'm out of here." Sharon said and stood up to leave.
Suddenly, the door was pushed open, and Eva( Evans's mother) walked in.
Evans and Sharon shook; they knew she had overheard what they'd been saying; Sharon began to shake visibly; she knew their little secret was out, and she had a penalty to face for denying being in a relationship with Evans all that while. It was all her idea to keep the relationship from everyone because she knew there was no way Evans's family would support it, she was just their maid.
Evans kept smacking his head as he sat on the bed, waiting for the mother's reaction, he knew he had a lot of explanation to make to her and the rest of the family.
Eva kept looking at Sharon with contempt; the fierceness in her eyes could burn one to ashes. Sharon kept shaking; she knew there was no way out of that situation other than to tell the truth.
" Wow! Wow!! Wow!!! So my son, the heir of this family, decided to stoop so low to date a maid? A maid!" Eva yelled.
" She's a human being too," Evans said.
" She's a peasant! Is that the kind of woman you want to be with? A woman who can't add any value to your life, a woman who would forever be a liability to you, a woman you can't brag about in public, a woman who is so beneath you, a woman... ... ... ... ...... ... ..."
" Enough mum! I knew all of that before I chose her. She's the one I want, and I don't care what people will think or say because I know with time, the world will adjust, and everyone will accept her." Evans interrupted Eva.
" When you said everyone, did you mean your family? Nay, you know that's not possible, there's no way we'll support your relationship with her. Wait a minute, was she the reason why you broke up with Carolina? Gosh! You're dumber than I thought, how could you choose a low life over a classy and reputable lady like Carolina? Have you lost it?" Eva asked angrily.
" Mum, she's the one I want and there's nothing anyone can do about it. I broke up with Carolina because she was a bad influence on me, and I fell out of love with her." Evans said firmly.
" Yet you went back to her? Do you even know what you want for yourself? News flash, Carolina is carrying your child and she's the one the family wants, not this peasant." Eva said, facing Sharon.
" And you, have you forgotten how you started working here? Have you forgotten how he treated you like the filth that you are? What makes you think he genuinely loves you? Please tell me, which man will cheat on the woman he claims he genuinely loves with an ex-girlfriend he said was a bad influence on him? Have you got no brain at all? He said he was drunk and you believed him? Gosh!" Eva said, rolling her eyes.
" Mum!" Evans yelled.
Sharon ran out of the room in tears. She cried profusely, and as she walked down the stairs, she began to have flashbacks of how she started working with THE ROBERTS.
