Megha
"Kalyani, here is the order." Megha put plaits in front of her best friend Kalyani.
"That customer wants you to serve this desert to him." Kalyani told Megha with a troubled smile.
"Me? But why?" Megha asked in confusion.
"I don't but that old man is the richest man. Maybe he was impressed by your food. That's why he wants to meet you." Kalyani said cheerfully.
Earlier, no customer ever wished to meet the safe. Megha has completed six months working as a safe in this restaurant. In these six months, no customer had expressed any desire to meet Megha. Everyone used to praise his Indian food but no one wanted to see him. Today for the first time someone has expressed this wish, so it is a big deal for Megha.
"He is one of the most respected men in our country, Megha. He had many up class hotels in his arms. But he still chose to eat here. And it's very beneficial for our restaurant. Please, and impress him." Mark the restaurant owner said with a nervous face.
"Ok, if you say so." Megha didn't think too much, just picked up the plate and walked to Private room.
"Excuse me." She knocked before stepping inside with a professional smile on her face.
She continued to look down as she walked to the table. She didn't want to see his face often.
"Here is your dish sir. I hope to enjoy it." Megha said as she put down the plate on the table and stepped back very elegantly. Next thing she heard was the sound of a spoon.
"Mmm… Same as I tested in your small restaurant in India." Old heavy voice rang in a quiet room.
Megha's eyes widened in shock as she heard that voice again in her life. She looks up at people enjoying dessert.
"Mr Smith…" Megha said in a shocking tone.
"If I'm not wrong, but told you to call me grandpa back there." Old man said as he kept eating.
"I'm sorry. I forget…." Megha said.
"You are my granddaughter-in-law. How can you forget your relationship with me? Don't tell me you forgot your other relationship too?" Old man snapped at him in anger.
Megha didn't say the words. But hearing the old man’s voice, Mark and Kalyani run inside.
"Mr Smith, is there something wrong with the food?" Mark asked nervously.
“Megha. tum ho?(Are you all right?)” Kalyani asked Megha.
“Mene use abhi tak kuch bhi nahi kha(I didn’t say anything to her yet.)” Old man said as he put down the spoon.
“Megha…”
“Mr Smith, I apologize if Megha did something.” Mark bows to Old man as he figures out something wrong with Megha and Old man.
“Wrong? Yes, she did. Megha, did you want to tell him?”
“Grandpa, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to disrespect you by calling you by your name. But I was surprised to see you here.”
“You do not disrespect me, you are breaking my promise to your grandfather.” Old man said calmly.
"Grandpa, I'm sorry if you feel bad seeing me here doing things like this." Megha wanted to say.
"Wrong thing, Megha! I don't mind you working here. I feel bad that you are still working here. I married you to my grandson so that I could give mine to your grandfather." Fulfill the promise and give you a good life which you deserve. But even after marriage you are doing the same thing even after coming here. I came to know that you are living alone at her house. And my grandson is having fun. He is doing debauchery with women in his other house. I am feeling bad about this. You did not tell me anything. I am feeling bad about this. You are still considering me as a stranger. I feel bad about this. Have been." Old Mann's voice finally went berserk.
"Grandpa, I didn't mean to make you feel bad. But I had to do something to raise my son."
"Doesn't my grandson give you money for expenses?"
"It's not about the money."
"So what's the matter? How will I know if you don't tell me your problem?"
"They…"
"You two go out. I have some personal talk with my daughter-in-law." Old Man told Mark and Kalyani.
"All right." Mark said and he went out with Kalyani.
"Sit down and tell me the whole thing." Old Man said in a commanding voice.
"It's very clear, Grandpa. You know your grandson. He didn't want this marriage. He married me because of your coercion. But you forgot one thing: I have a five year old daughter and I am a divorcee. Woman. Who would marry such a woman? Who would want that his wife is already missing with someone else's child. Your grandson is right. He doesn't want a second hand wife like me. He doesn't want to marry at all. It was you who was blackmailing her by taking business, that's why she got married."
"You don't take her side. I had to bring her on the right path, that's why I got her married. But I didn't know that you would also take her side."
"I am not taking any side. All I am saying is that your grandson's world and mine are different. You should have married a girl of his age. A clumsy, poor and divorced woman like me. No. You made a mistake."
"I didn't do anything wrong. You don't know my grandson. If I didn't get him married in time, he would have been in a lot of trouble."
