Sophia's POV
" Bullocks". I cursed with a sigh dragging my beaten up sorry for an excuse luggage bag along the road which contrast greatly with my entire appearance.
I had finally arrived at Golden street, at least I thought I had. It would be a shame if I hadn't.
My legs came to a halt and I bent down to catch my breath, dragging it slowly while bending down. I had been walking non-stop for over three hours which this sack of junk and i was finally here.
"Gosh..." I blinked in awe looking around. This place was beautiful.
The building were tall as if touching the sky and they were transparent.
" Are this damn things made of glass?" I wondered as my mouth opened wide while my neck stretched back so I could get a complete view.
Who builds a house with glass?
Aren't they afraid it would break or anything?
I shook my head looking away.
Where I came from, this huge building would have been in ruins by now, or of not ruins, it would at least have a scratch, because there was no way in hell those little kids there would see something like this and not try to bring it down.
I would have done so myself if I wasn't this tired, and hungry, and tried... I groaned brushing my long frizzy brown hair back before staring at the sun.
I wasn't Einstein nor did I have a watch with me, but it wasn't rocket science to guess that it was around midday right now.
" Sophia, you're finally here ". I said to myself looking around.
This definitely the place I was going to. It had to be. " Excuse me " I stopped a lady who was passing by with her face buried in her phone, but the lady didn't stop and pretended she didn't even hear me.
No answer... Okay.
But I wasn't one to just give up.
I rushed after her and tapped her. " Excuse me ". I said loudly. The lady looked back and threw me a glare.
" What is it? What do you want?"
I frowned taking a step back. " I just want to..."
"Money? " She interrupted, her voice sounding stern and venomous. " You want money right?"
Money?
" Why would you think..."
" Stop the pretense". She almost yelled. " You sly beggar. Do you think I'm one of those nobody's you beg for money? "
My eyes moved from her face and down to her feet before going back to her face. " You're not? " I asked feigning a look of surprise while putting my hands on my mouth. " I didn't realize. "
" You... " She fumed, her face turning red. " Do you know who the fuck I am? "
I tilted my head little thinking, before shaking my head. " I have no idea. "
" You..."
" I'll save you the trouble. " I raised up my hand to stop ber from spewing whatever nonsense she wanted to say. " I only wanted to ask if this was Golden street, but I've gotten my answer already ".
I had no doubt now that this was Golden street.
She hissed taking a step back from me. " You should be grateful I don't have you time you beggar ". She said before walking away from me, really fast.
" Aish... Such a shame ". I shook my head staring at the direction the lady left in. " How could someone be that pretty but so vile at the same time? " I wondered in amusement.
The lady had beautiful blonde hair that she flaunted around she walked away, with a beautiful face.
I wish I could wish for a hair like that, and a face to match, but if it came with that attitude, I was way better on my own.
It was attitude like that that got people beaten up where I came from.
And the worst part was that she looked no older than me... Two or three years at most.
I stopped a passing cab and got in. " To the royals residence ". I ordered the driver, settling into my seat.
I could have just called a cab long time ago and saved myself the five hours long walk from the orphanage to this damn place, but I didn't.
More like my pocket couldn't afford it.
Right now I only had enough to go where I wanted to with the hope that I would get accepted. If I was turned back, I literally had nowhere else to go, and no money to take me there.
I looked out the window and sighed in amusement at the new things I saw as the road got familiar.
Golden street.
A place where all the rich folks lived. Where the best schools and jobs and even air was, but that was not why I was here.
This was also here the king and queen of this great country lived, and that was why I was here.
To find them, my parents.
